Hi Robert. I put blocks at midspan on the floor girder. Then I put blocks between each joist at the exterior walls. I didn't put any bringing blocks because now the joists are 12 o.c.
Are you leaving that bare dirt under the floor? A vapor barrier and maybe a dehumidifier might be in order or all that wood will end up rotting down the road.
@@williamellis8045 we live in the dryest part of Colorado. If it were my own house I would do everything you are recommending. The home owners don't want to do any of that unfortunately.
Hi Oscar. My labor rate is$70 hr for out of state work. Plus $30 for laborer hours ( I roll with 2 laborers). Everything is negotiable here is my number eight o one three six seven two zero six one.
The 2 x 4 sisters were to bring the subfloor level and flat. The 2 x 8's were strong enough but the floor was never framed properly. I added a two by eight in between so the subfloor would not have to span 24 o.c. sheets get kind of spongy when you try to span 24 o.c.
Please tell me why you didn't mention fixing the existing foundation , so all the leveling U did was a waste of time if you did not fix the existing foundation. And think about all the weight U are adding to the ext foundation with the remodel. I'm sure the old House foundation was not calculated for the remodel. When you build someone's dream home U should fix the problem not put a bandaid on it.
Wasn't my decision. I told the homeowners many times to tear the old house down and build a new one. They vetoed me. The e.o.r. was well aware of the parameters of the project and the existing foundation. What was I supposed to do turn down thousands of dollars to stay in the good graces of a judgemental stranger or feed my family?
1st....good job,are you going to put some bracing in between the joists?

I wouldn’t ask them if they want a vapor barrier , I would already have put it in lol
@@RTBucco can't sneak in a vapor barrier. The homeowners are living on site.
Ho much for you to come out and create a repair plan for 1900 House? Texas/Oklahoma area.

How much was the remodel?
I don't know. The owner bought materials and I just charged an hourly labor rate.
