    Hello Patty - love your great ideas on craft storage. All of the crafters always love new ideas for storing or organizing their supplies. FYI - I prefer the older pokey tool from Stampin Up as well. I so wished that Stampin Up would bring back shears again. We need longer scissors for somethings we do. You take care & have a great week Patty ! Thank you for sharing this storage information with us. 👏👏👏💕🌻

    Patty, I am so enjoying this video! Your way of organizing is very similar to mine … well, it was … Hurricane Ian came along and brought 6 ½ ft of water into our ground level home in 2022. At that time, I had been stamping since 2009 and lost it all. I started over once we settled into a much smaller place. I do have a craft area in the small den we have now and I value any and all ideas for storage. I think I pretty much have organized the best I can. Thank you, again, so much for this video! I giggled when you showed your “Pokey tools” … I call it that, too!
    Thank you, again!!!

    I can hardly believe how much you and I have in common! I have been working for 20+ years to get my stamping workroom organized the way I would love to have it. It has come a long way, but I am still, and will probably never reach perfection. But I love to have everything at my fingertips when I make cards. I have to organize all things color in rainbow order, too. Everything in my craft room is labeled, even the drawers. I know where to look for things without reading the labels most of the time, but there are drawers that have things that I don't use on a daily basis. I keep my cardstock in labeled hanging folders, and I NEVER get rid of colors I really like. I am a hobbiest only, but I hold card-making "classes" as well. And I will use retired stuff if that's the color that came to mind. None of my customers cares that they can't get things that I use. They are interested in getting ideas that will help them come up with cards of their own. HAPPY STAMPING!

    I absolutely relate to losing things, and I have more than one bone folder, snips, piecing tool etc. Those lost things turn up, but not quick enough. I’ve spent hours looking for things, and it is stressful. So, the money spent on multiple is well worth the expense!

    Thanks for this Patty! I also have my most used things at my fingertips, with others close by - and I like to see what I have. I got those Avery embellishments sleeves after watching one of your other videos and I love them. I organize mine the same as you and have them handy on my desk. I also have the Niimbot label printer - I got it about a year ago and I love it. I like that the labels peel off easily when you want to reuse sleeves or bins. I never thought about it until watching this video, but I do both rainbow and alpha order. My inks and blends are in rainbow order, but my cardstock is in alpha order. I have no idea why! I'm also a "multiples" person with my tools... one is not enough.

    • @pattystamps
      @pattystamps  6 месяцев назад

      Ooh so glad you like the sleeves and the niimbot!! Yes, those labels peel off so nicely!! That is interesting that you have your c/s in alpha order but others in rainbow... if you try out rainbow order for your c/d let me know how you like it!

    Hi Patty I love all your storage tips. One thing I did was I took the time and printed out a label for all the ink colors and stuck them to each ink tray and if I have a bunch of ink pads out I know exactly where they go and If I'm missing one I know at a glance which one is missing. When it come to inks retiring and shuffling the ink pads around then I just have to look at the tray and know in with order they do. My inks pads are sort of in rainbow order but they go down from light to dark in the color families. I also need everything out and handy.

    Patti, I use long kleenex boxes to store my made cards in. I cutbthem down to 3" then glue the exes into the box for stability. I do put a label on the end so I know what is in each box. The box is just the correct size.

    # Replay Patty - I hope you do more of these organize videos. I am just now trying to set up my crafting area, and having quite a time with it. What are in the under the counter rolling carts? Where did you get them? I have considered this kind of storage too. Where do you put your 6x6 DSPs?

    • @pattystamps
      @pattystamps  6 месяцев назад +1

      The Elfa carts i mentioned in the video are from Container Store. I showed the 6x6 DSP in the video. You can see all of my organizing videos here: ruclips.net/p/PLthQfDjRFFh1cBSyg5WCVdCHImkCBZcqM

    I watched the replay and thank you for sharing how you craft room is set up. At times I feel I am drowning in DSP and stamp sets. . I also loose stuff when I am crafting. I was wondering if you have the glass mat and if you use it. Thank you for sharing.
    #question.

    • @pattystamps
      @pattystamps  6 месяцев назад

      Yes, love the glass mat, you've probably seen me use it and mention it in my Friday crafting videos and in my card photos. The only reason I don't use it more on video is that the grids kind of "fool" my phone and it is not sure what to focus on... but I use it every day on my crafting table.

    The first step for dealing with scrap cardstock anxiety for me was to start pitching out 1/4” and 1/2” strips. That reduced the rest of the scraps to a manageable amount.

    #REPLAY - I just subscribed - good luck! ❤ I purchased three of the passport packages during this video. I add my dies to magnets and place two sets (back to back) per die package. I use extra packs for scrap cardstock. If you ever want to sell any of your empty plastic die set packages, let me know. Thanks for all of the tips! 😉

    I have to have everything at my fingertips! My craft room is “messy” by comparison to some, but it works for me.
    I have a very small room and a small desk.
    I have utilized a Lazy Susan (large one, meant for the kitchen) on the corner of my desk and I have a collection of mugs in the center to hold various tools, often used markers, pencils, pokers, tweezers, blending brushes….The extra space around the mugs is great for keeping my color swatches and my Take Your Pick accessories so I can quickly change them out.
    I tend to use sentimental things for storage- mugs from trips, tins from gifts, etc.
    I have (from years ago, Office Depot) clear (frosty really) 6” cubes storage boxes that I use for all my adhesives, cleaners, stamping blocks, and markers. It’s made in pieces so I can customize it to suit my needs and it has a long thin footprint so it doesn’t take up desk space.
    I already have the “passport” envelopes in my cart…
    Thanks for all the awesome tips.

    • @bethbenson1931
      @bethbenson1931 6 месяцев назад

      I don't understand why you would get rid of your scraps. At least not for the solid colors. My paper sorters have taller cubbies so I have room for the full sheets and a plastic envelope for the scraps. I die cut a lot and I sure wouldn't want to cut up a full sheet for a small die. I guess it just depends on what you have room for. 😊

    • @jrecm4816
      @jrecm4816 6 месяцев назад

      I kept boxes of tiny scraps that I never use because it would take so much time to find the color I wanted. Usually with my tiny dies its not just one that I want so need "large "scraps which I do keep@@bethbenson1931

    • @pattystamps
      @pattystamps  6 месяцев назад

      @@bethbenson1931 95% of what I create is in bulk for customer thank you cards (40 to 60 a week) and it is not time efficient for me to look through scraps to find 40 to 60 pieces to use, so i am much more efficient to use a 1/2 sheet and puzzle in as many die cuts as I can on that sheet. Hope that makes sense? I rarely ever have the need for a scrap smaller than 1/4 sheet. My 1/4 and 1/2 sheets are in my paper drawer of happiness.

    #Replay: I love the Avery Passport Sleeves for my embellishments. I use snack baggies for items I fussy cut or punch. i have used my label printer to label the front of my ink pads, ink refills, punches so I can see the names of the colors (Old Eyes). I love Stamp n Storage. Great tips! I have a hard time remembering what dsp I have. I have them in a drawer with marked packages. Do you have any tips for remembering what dsp you have? I forget what is in a whole packet. I use what I can see.

      I have 1 of each package of DSP.. so I guess I don't really have to remember.. I just know it's there. But you could print out a checklist with each new catalog and keep it handy,.
