    Purchased these a few weeks ago. Just a phenomenal skate. Really stiff but super comfortable at the same time. Felt like a huge upgrade from my old Bauer Nexus skates. I have a high volume wide foot and the wide fits far better than my old skates.

    For those wondering like I was. The forward lean is not because the blade holder is different than CCM or Bauer. It is because the steel comes with a contour that makes it 1/2mm lower in the front compared to the back. This makes it have a forward pitch even without having a profile.

    I’d like to see the pro customs reviewed, I’m currently using the True customs that were out right before TF, they’re so comfortable but I know they gotta be lighter now

    Love seeing you back on the ice doing these! Disappointed True still doesn't do the comfort edges on the top of the boot though, excited to give these a try though!

      Thanks buddy! I'm hoping the next-gen skates will have that comfort wrap as well.

      They don’t need them because the lining projects up beyond the boot shell edge. In other words, they effectively have a much more extensive comfort edge.

      Been using my Catalyst 9's for a month and I don't find the need for a comfort edge. Skates are very comfortable, and I've never noticed any issues at the top of the boot.

    Awesome video as always! How does the boot stiffness compare to the TF9? Thanks!

    Hi Chase! I wear a Bauer 2X Pro skates with size 7EE prior to the fit 1-3 system. Will a size 7 be a similar fit to that? I heard the TF skates sizing is rather off compared to other manufacturers.

    How stiff is the boot? I had a pair ccm tacks and after getting them baked it was hard to get them tied the way I like them and when I did get them tied the boot was still way to stiff to where my ankle was moving around. I know I had the right size cause I went and got measured at a hockey pro shop

    I also thought the TF9s were very uncomfortable

      They go from the most uncomfortable to the most form-fitting with a bake, it's truly impressive.

    Are these anything like the Easton Makos?

    How do you compare it to the CCM jet speed?

    • @ice.warehouse
      @ice.warehouse  2 года назад +3

      These are just a totally different beast, while they're a retail skate, the one-piece co-molded boot feels like it was custom made for you after you bake them.

    I used the TF9 player and Goalie skates for a few months and completely regretted selling my SuperTacks. Sold them and went back to the CCM AS3’s and AS3 Pros both player and goalie. The Trues were complete garbage.

      What didn’t you like about the True’s that was better on CCM? Only asking because I’m debating between the two.

    • @Acyclistandhockeysnob
      @Acyclistandhockeysnob 2 года назад

      @@85dbs honestly the sizing and the angle of the chassis. The sizing is at least a 1/2 size larger than it claims and the angle of the Chassis takes getting used to. Not to mention, unless you wrap them with a clear 3m protection in the carbon areas, they will scratch up quickly.

      @Average Canadian in 2022 well the fact that the tendon guard in the back breaks easily along with the Carbon heel? Yeah, garbage.

    Hi Chase, last november I bought my first pair of True skates( TF 7 ) and very satisfied.
    My question: basically, what are the main differences between my skates and the Catalyst 7? Does it have anything to do with the type of skater I am? Thanks! Marc, Quebec. 😉🏒
