I wanted these for years because my feet are differently shaped and sized, but I couldn't bring myself to spend $1200 on skates. So, I stuck with my typical retail skates for $600 and my arch pain took some joy out of my hockey years tbh. I finally had enough of the pain, saved up and pulled the trigger. Hands down the best financial decision I've made. The comfort/performance is unreal and they will last me forever. In all honesty, my arches still hurt sometimes but the pain quickly goes away, which never happened in my retail CCM's. If you're hesitant because of the cost or whatever it may be, just pull the trigger. There's simply nothing else like True Customs
I have the SVH customs and would not change them for anything in the world as they are so good in how the fit and feel when on. They are worth every penny you pay to have them and nothing else comes close to them. It is a bit of a waiting process for them to arrive as they are truly custom made and took mine 5 weeks to arrive (thanks to covid). You won't be disappointed with the decision you make when buying these skates. I even emailed the factory to see where my skates where in the build process and got lovely email back on informing me in what stage of the build they are in and what is happening next. I don't think people talk to much about these skates as they are afraid of the price but now you compare to Bauer not to much difference I think and with True you get a way better boot and fit in the SVH custom. Thanks for the awesome video. But did notice in last few videos that the SVH where been worn so why so long for this review.
The SVH fit is second to none! I received my True SVH skates on Feb 11. The scan and order process was on Jan 09. I am based is Düsseldorf-Germany. Today I have put them on for the first time. I did spend 3 hours on ice. How can I describe the way the skates fit. The SVH is a bit heavier than my Bauer Supreme TotalOne. Of course you feel that there is something on your feet, but it does not feel like my Supreme TotalOne. It fits like a perfect fitting Timberland boot. No pressure points, no rubbing, just pure comfort. The SVH came with an Ellipse Zero Profile with 5/8 hollow. Oh man it felt great. You can read a lot of complains regarding the True SVH finish, I really looked very close to every detail of the skates. No complains from me! Thumps-up from me. By the way I have pretty f....d up feet. I have bending-lowering-splayfeet, it can not got more worst:) but the 3D scan prior to build from inside out has accounted for every bump on my feet:)
Love how you mentioned the Mako skates, that’s exactly how I felt when I got them, and I still feel like they have been the most comfortable skates I’ve ever worn…still have them and thinking of switching back from the FT1
Same here. My Mako is getting old, have some damages at the sole but it is soooo comfortable to even think about replacing it. However I don't think I am skilled enough to be able to tell my requirements how to build a fully custom skate.
I’ve had cat 9 (x2) cat pro (x2) and svh. The cat pros were no different to the cat 9’s except they jammed plastic in the toecap to make them too small. They weren’t custom at all. The svh are incredible. Although every pair turned up with warped / mis mounted holders and bent steel so it has been a massive ballache.
Got Cat9s about 2 weeks ago Love them.
okay now we need the supreme mach video
SVH are my next skates. Thanks for the info.
could you guys please do a review on the mach skates
SVH customs are game changers for those with irregular shaped feet. They are a real gift. Very thankful for mine. I wish I would have found them earlier in my life.
Can we get a stick review on the Jetspeed ft6 pro? I want to know the performance before I purchase one. Thank you and I love your channel
Thinking of SVH customs ... I have overpronation and flatfeet with custom orthotics... will SVH customs be able to consider the orthotics and manufacture the boots?
Chris - In terms of fit and comfort, do you notice any difference between your Cat9s and Cat Pros?
Chris, if you have the SVH for YOUR feet and also a pair of Cat pros then why on earth are you wearing the Cat 9??
I was wondering the same thing?
Haha it’s because I doing my damn best to avoid totally messing them up before we VS all custom skates in one video. I only used them enough to build my review and this content then, back into the Cat 9 I go. You might notice a few scuffs on both custom TRUES. It’s painful to film in the studio with those marks 😢😂
Can i get the SVH custom with a tuuk edge holder ?
What are the different starting price points on reserve three skates? The Pro Custom and SVH Custom don't appear to be posted on most websites
$1099 for the Catalyst Pro, $1199 for SVH
Got my SVH customs a week ago. To be honest it’s been a painful process (literally and figuratively). I will admit customer service has been responsive but I’m still convinced the boot isn’t fit correctly for my feet. Even after molding and tweaking it’s still very difficult to get my foot in and out. Left crazy bruises on my feet at first. The top of my foot is raised beyond the edge of the top of the boot which makes tying them up tight almost impossible. Toes go numb from less than an hour skating yet around the ankle never seems to be tight enough. Still trying to make them work because for the little moments that they do feel good they honestly do feel amazing plus hoping not to waste $1200 lol.
Pull the laces from the top 4 eyelets, next you should loosen up the laces at the remaining eyelets. You should be able to get them off without any Problem. In order to get into your SVH with ease you should use the longest laces available 3+ Meter. Loosen up the laces from top to bottom as much as possible.
Chris Why you still using the Cat 9 instead of the SVH ?
As i am considering between this 2 model and budget is a concern here
do you think you would be able to review the ft6 pro skates when it comes out?
Just waiting for the agreed day to post the vidoe 😉
So the SVH feel better than the old VH and the MLX’s Chris?
I wish they offered a narrow option
As a Pro shop manager, here are my thoughts and experiences with True skates. First, their runners/steel are not good when compared to Step Steel or LS Pulse's. I'd go as far as to say the Shaft DLC from True is like an LS2 from a few years ago. Second, don't get the custom skates (at this time) because they will not last. True is having a huge problem with their skates coming apart within a year at the elite level, and even coming apart for mid-level players. I think True is a good company, but right now their skates are not holding up. I repair more True skates then any other, True is trying too many new things and the technology and equipment isn't there yet. I think True is going down a good path, but they are still in the R&D stage of their skates. They are new to making holders and runners, and it shows. True custom skates are not being treated like 1 of 1's from top to bottom, they're tailoring skates to you which means all the research that went into designing the base skate is being messed with. It's like a car, the Ford Mustang comes the way the factory knows will last the longest, if you start tuning and working on it, you may have issues and need to do maintenance far more often. I really hope True can tighten up their quality control and longevity, but if you don't have cash to burn, don't spend your last bit on True skates.
I know numerous people with True customs, the only issue I know about is a new bolt needed for a tendon guard, cost a few pounds to fix. They seem fine for beer league, I cannot comment on higher level play.
@@StillAliveAndKicking_ Yes, the tendon guard design is horrible and is a guaranteed failure point. For beer league they're great, super comfortable and will last fine, but in elite level play they don't have longevity.
@@TheGreatChrisBok so what if the players can only use true skates because of there foot what do u think they should wear LMAO nothing?
@@TheGreatChrisBwhat’s another skate a lot of them wear? Most don’t wear Bauer due to the Bauer bump they cause soo
So many ppl have the SVH customs man so Idk bro. And second its either svh or the bauer custom Vapor’s and most don’t like vapours due to bauer bump so
Nicely done video.
Could you weigh them to see if there is any differences please.
Weight of Cat Pro and SVH is in the video.
Where'd you get your shirt? And do you have one without P88 crossed off?
Link in bio 💪🏾💪🏾 and yes there is
@@HockeyTutorialOfficial Hey thanks for your reply!
Are you guys planning on doing an update or do you have any comment on the SVH customs, especially durability?
I have odd shaped feet and have been fighting with different sized Machs for the past 3 months and am losing, so I'm getting fit for SVH customs on Monday.
@@HockeyTutorialOfficial I only see P28, P29, and P92... :(
first
Bauer > True every day of the fucking week
Went from Bauer Customs to True TF9, and my edgework improved substantially. The Trues are comfortable, more supportive and have insane grip. I’m not convinced the Trues are as durable but I’d choose them over Bauer Customs.
