Hey Llama, just wanna say how much I love these. When D2R was announced I watched a ton of your older ones. Got way back into it after D2R. I would LOVE to see some updated playthroughs. As always, thanks for your content and major grats on the well earned family.
Nice to see you bringing these back. I used to leave your guided playthroughs on for hours while grinding on D2R. Actually finding your videos got me back into the game! I like how you’ve done the titles, by the way. Having both let’s play and guided play through in the title seems smart. Thanks for the content!
🤣 What happened that this just got added to RUclips!? This was like months ago, pre baby llama and pre season 3. Love the guided play throughs though, and I have been looking forward to this one specifically. Thanks @MrLlamaSC!
@@WardenOfTerra odd statement about a game that has recently received balance changes, new items, and skill reworks. Are all of the new changes amazing? No, but the fact is, there are changes and updates.
wow, this is from months ago. And you just got to the Nightmare part the other day, it looks like on Twitch, did something happen to make this take so long?
Damn what a coincidence I just watched your old d2 playthrough a few days ago since I decided to start playing offline sp waiting for ladder s4, and picked a sin instead of sorc. Currently stuck a3 hell and running LK trying to get some decent charms/runes. Got a MAL so far hoping to make mosaics on respec.
Nice, thorough guide. I am wondering though, if it would be worth it between level 6-10 to drop a single point into Charged Web for fire resistant enemies, although I did see that CW only gets extra spikes from Fire Blast, not damage.
Do you think trapsin is a good starter for the new ladder? Not going for top or anything. I just need a character that can help me farm at higher level for my other characters to use later on. Thanks for the video and nice seeing you with the Argentina's jersey
Yes it’s probably second best to sorc. Easy playthrough at early to mid levels. Fast runwalk, stun/convert with mind blast, open all chests without key, farms density well with sentry corpse explosion or mosaics on respec.
Yeah for sure Sin is sitting right under sorc, in terms of ladder starter. In my opinion, which is heavily biased against playing sorc on ladder start (lol I literally can't stand that seemingly 99% of ppl on reset got sorc without thought or questioning) Sin is maybe even a bit better. She has innate speed boosts, leaving her only a bit slower than sorc movement wise. Sin, tho, is much sturdier than Sorc and with traps you are basically playing the safest meta game lmao. Traps down, stand between or around em. Plus on ladder start, the best way to get rich is to sell sorc mf loot to all the sorcs. Sin gear will be cheaper
Hi. I have an "advanced noob" question. By that I mean I have 4 pa/matriarchs characters. So not totally beginner but for guys who do HC speedruns yeah, noob. And I really hit the wall when I tried doing Ubers. Twice opened portal, twice there was Uber Duriel and it was ugly... Had no chance. I wasn´t able to took him more than like 5% of healt while in panic used 16 Full Re potions and died. I play solo(offline) only. So I would really appreciate some thoughts or advices if there is any way to get my heroes able to compete. Or what would you change to just better your farming. But, with my drops, please try to not advice things like "get Shako." Never seen it. Or "go find four Zed runes..." :D My top four characters- Necro, summoning and Bone Spear. It was my first char to finish on Hell and since than I didn´t play for him that much, last months ever. So I have to remind the style I used, don´t even remember key bindings... Some of the stuff he has on wasn´t there during gameplay, found them later with other chars. I use fcking White staff since playing on Normal. For some time I think I used Wizardspike for 50CSR, now I have in stash Blackhand Key. Not sure if that would be a win... The rest of it is... laughable? He wears Trang oul Armor, +3 summons amulet, two yellow rings (I told my drops were terrible... but I beat the game!), just now gave him Marrowwalk Boots and Undead Crown, Razortail belt and the cake is my shield... 6 defense head that has +3 Bone Spear, +3 Decrepify and +3 Bone Prison, two diamonds inserted so I don´t die cause of resistances.
Disclaimer for all who are not aware and start their trapsin and invest their first Um rune after watching this: the -lightres changes are not yet implemented in single player. I do hope I'm wrong but as far as we know there hasn't been a fix or a statement from blizzard in over 2 month and we propably have to wait until season 4 to get the new trapsin rolling.
My fav char, trapsin is very strong, mosaic got insane, I'm still hoping they fix melee in general and make dragon claw a bit faster, so we can have our little wolverinie.
It depends on a few factors. First the base polearm type, IE if it's a Voulge then it's max sockets is 4. Other bases have max of 3-6 in the normal tier of polearms. Then if ilvl also matters, IE what lvl the terrorized cows were. I think it takes your lvl +2 up to a max, and on normal i thnk that max is 42? So you'd have to look up what your polearm's max sockets are for the area level you were killing in. Which is most likely just it's overall max because pretty much anything beyond like act2 nightmare in lvl difficulty is gonna give the base's max. Use Arreat Summit's polearm page, what level you were, and their area lvl table to figure it out. Couple sites also have a table showing what max sockets is for each weapon in each area lvl it was found in. Pretty much anything past act2/3 nightmare is gonna be full max, and terror cows is past that i think.
It doesnt matter what level u were, normal cows and all through NM is max 4 sockets. the only things that wont get 4 sockets are bardiche and lochaber axe, anything else you can get from normal cows, terrorized or not will give u 4 sockets.
After respawn, the game became very difficult. After getting used to wake of fire, it is very difficult to progress with lightinin traps. WHY ? (Respawn at 36)
never understood why the + to fire skills works on leaf, but the + to lighting damage skills doesn't work. The verbiage is the same. If leaf buffs fire traps griffons should buff lighting traps.
Because it isn't the same.... Leaf buffs fire skills which happens to affect damage. Griffons is skill damage %, and traps aren't skills since they are counted as minions.
So, I was sitting thinking, as I was searching through my items bank.. my trap assassin.. "what can I do to it?" Considering she's budget, no torch, self found.. I came up on a pretty decently statted howl claw.. 100% Now I wanna try rocking 2x howl claws and use ranged blade throw with my traps... Howl + light and death sentry.. should be interesting.. getting swarmed is no bueno. The impossible task of finding +5 trap, 100% howl rare claws. 🙄😭🤣
Really love and appreciate these but 95% of people play online, so I dont get why you do offline with player 8. It makes it really hard to follow along. Constantly pausing and trying to catch up, or being really under leveled in the same areas. If you would play these online we'd be able to follow a lot easier.
Because not everyone has friends to play online or wants to bother with random strangers. In my opinion offline is 1000000x more fun because you can go at your own pace and not be burdened by other people. I hate online with a strong passion so these guides are perfect for me and most people.
Please do not listen to the bad advice, first few lvls you get yourself some mana and some stats. Especially on first few lvls you dont actually need ANY extra health but you will need massive amounts of mana to sustain your damage output. Later on you can go completely energy-less because of + to mana from items and passive level up gain. Also both +dmg % and -% resistance of enemies now work for all traps. This guy cant seem to leave the pants of worthless speed running twatuber, do not skip monsters, take your time, finish Tristram 5-6 times for extra levels and gear, you can easily get to 15 before you even see andariel making the fight very easy.
Seems like common sense. But for the people who don't know though he's a literal Vet at the game and is known within the D2 community. Ofc ppl will recognize this.
Yeah this isn't really a great video for a beginner to watch and try to play along with. So, like most people, I handle making a new toon the same way I start off ladder resets. Run thru acts as fast as ya can. Llama is more or less always doing some degree of speed running the game. Now, when I'm playing and relaxing, or when I hit hell on a build for the first time...I go thru the maps basically full clearing , not focusing on speed much at all. Those are the sessions I find the most loot during MF runs. Like on Monday, I was slow walk full clearing Baal from WSK2 way point all the way to throne room. I got a Jah, an soj, a Nightwing and gore riders. In the space of idk 10 minutes. More than half of those items were found on trash mobs lmao
Thanks for this. As a noob that wants to play d2r at the highest level, I appreciate these. I hope you redo all of the guided playthroughs again, as i'm not sure what the added patches have changed in terms of tierlists/best leveling tactics. I just play casually in my freetime. You get a 98/100. 100/100 is reserved to Anu, but if I could critique you for the extra 99/100 , I noticed that you didn't explain the map hacks, I loved those in your guided playthroughs, but this time you just referred to the map hacks video. I've watched that video half a dozen times, but I only play the game once every 0.25-0.5 a year so i forget. Just a quick "i'm going to the upper left of the tile for the waypoint. the exit is directly across" etc. would be helpful when following along. Also, the first 2 min of the vids with the pictures of the breakpoints/secondary stats your looking for as you play along is helpful. It hurt when I got to the end of act 5 to hear you mention that assassins don't need keys and I was like "damn, i've been carrying a stack of keys in my bags for nothing this entire time :(. I should've known, I've heard it before, but I forgot after x years of playing assassin." Lastly, I overleveled on "accident" I guess. I find myself spending 10 min skipping ahead to find out how you are placing your talents/attributes/what items would be great finds/etc. Just an extra brief 2-3 min at the beginning/end of the vod for explanations would be awesome for noobs like me. Anyways, I appreciate ya mister yama. Wish you the best! On to the nightmare vod!
