Agreed this iteration of the Ticket isn't good so this'll be my last buying the Community day ticket. The Timed Research isn't good either since...you'll get the CD pokemon - way - after the event ends defeating the purpose of the ticket
Nobody is talking about how you used to get the cute research STORYLINE when you bought the ticket, it gave you neat little factoids about the 'mon and I loved that aspect, they stopped doing it sometime last year...
I stopped buying the Community Day tickets (and everything else) last year out of protest. The factoids were the only reason I bought these tickets, and I nearly caved for some of the 2024 Community Days because I was really interested in learning more about that mon. Sad to hear that they scrapped these.
@@greg3118 I;m glad you stook yr ground!! I caved for Annihilape because it's a new one and if, for anyone, they'd give a cool story for, it'd be him right? nope. It's weird how nobody is talking about it though??
@teacue7007 That was one that almost got me too! I thought it would be really interesting to learn about the Ghost aspect. Too bad Niantic gave that storyline (and future ones) Ghost sub-typing so that it vanished.
At 1 dollar it was just a quick indifferent purchase but at a 100% price increase I am now expecting it to offer something and whatever they offer is *not* worth it. I’m never purchasing it again as it currently is. Sad too ‘cause I used to gift these to my friend’s list.
I quit buying the tickets years ago. They are just not worth the price (even $0.99) in my opinion. I don't buy any event tickets anymore except the Global Go Fest ones. They are just not worth the price to me. The game is getting very stale with fewer and fewer new Pokemon coming out so they have added "Special" backgrounds to try and get people to spend more money. Also, the "costume" Pokemon are a joke as well. They are just dragging out the game as long as the can. When is the last time we had a new legendary come out in a regular raid rotation?
I'm more disappointed in the fact that they changed the challenges that come with the ticket. I live in a very rural area and don't want to travel 20+ minutes out for a small event like this. With the old tickets, I could easily complete them while I was at home and they made community day feel more fun because I could work toward that goal. Now the ticket requires you to basically be in an area with a few pokestops and I just don't have that where I live.
I think the price is increasing more than the value. That perspective may be in part because, as a Canadian, the ticket is now just over $3 after currency conversion and tax. Personally, I don't like steep price hikes, and doubling is certainly that. I think if they increased the price, for rough example, by 50cents this year and 50 cents next year, people would mostly write it off as inflation, and may even be thankful to see an extra item added to offset it. It's like the frog in the pot, I think Niantic needs to warm us up slowly instead of dropping us in the boiling water. Doubling the price just reminds me of the remote raid fiasco, and that still has a bad taste in my mouth. And just like I've said about the Community Day tickets, if they had increased the cost of remote passes slower it might not have had as much of a negative impact on the player base. TLDR: Nobody wants to take medicine, but smaller pills are easier to swallow.
I kinda think we are already there, the fact palkia and dialgas moves cant be elite tmd, the amount of raids it took me to get those moves was stupid, i get they need to make money but doubling there income for comm day is madness, they want people to get out there and do more with the community, gmax, you had to pay for the ticket to get increased mp or purchase mp packs, the incentives for playing this game have slowly been being taken away, research breakthrough box, gbl legendary encounters, egg locked mons with increased odds with a ticket, i love pogo and will probably always play it, but lets be real a f2p player will never be able to catch up to a paying player.
They should be adding more value to the ticket before they even consider raising the price. The Pokémon encounters in the ticket need to be mighty Pokémon. More items relevant to the community day. Nothing exceptional stood out to me on the ticket. I had to pay more money for the same regular Pokémon encounters. Woo. Also, more work/effort was needed to complete it. I’ve got to figure out how I’m gonna complete it on the days that I work on a community day sitting in my office. I really didn’t ask for that. It might be time to stop buying those tickets
The $2 tag is not ideal for the value. But this time I didn't get the research moreso because of 2 tasks on page one, walk 3 k and complete 5 research tasks. Yesterday I was completely unable to get out and about. So those 2 would have prevented my completion. So I kept my $2.
Im from the uk, we had a very snowy comm day, was down at our local park, building snowmen catching mons and sledging, i had a great comm day without buying the ticket, i dont see the hype about the background mons, your the only person that sees it
Man they took the 4* raids after comm day away. I had upto 3 passes saved for it since I was busy during the day and wanted to play at night. They're really not going to get a single $ out of me now!!!
Ended up having a family member do the event for me, no shundos though I only bought the ticket this time because Floragato was within my top 10 favorite pokemon was disappointed there was no Floragato elite raids wanted to see if I could have soloed the raid.
I find when I buy an event ticket, the mons from the ticket are usually having worse iv's then a pokestop research ones. Definitely going to rethink event tickets.
Forgive me if I misunderstood what you said but you can absolutely get the special backgrounds without the ticket, the field research during the event gave sprigatitos with the background, I got like 5 and didn't buy the ticket
@@ThirdEyeLithSpy So the challenges that require you have have people around to help you. They should not count toward you being able to get the background
I really haven't spent any money on PoGo since the Remote Raid nerf and price hike. I think I've only spent about $20-30 since then for some major raids like Necrozma, Palkia & Dialga with their adventure effects. I honestly just save upy poke coins and don't do a lot of raids anymore.
I bought the ticket because I misread the description. I thought I got an elite tm, not just a regular charged tm. That's on me so I can't get mad at niantic for my own mistakes. I'll probably skip the next few.
Imo, I don't think items in game should be viewed by the default price amount. If you wait for certain boxes, you can get premium raid passes for like 55-66 coins each. Egg incubators are nearly worthless to me since its basically a gamble and lures and incense can be earned via winning contests if you stack up every XXL you can find. Lucky eggs are worthless to lev 50s and the only real item that could be of value is the raid passes. MAYBE star pieces also but they are only useful for events with boosted stardust.
I was disappointed. The ticket wasn’t worth it and I only got 2 shinies during the event, neither were three star. I got about five three stars all together and none of them were very good three stars. Getting the background might have been worth it if it wasn’t just one.
As a newer player I am okay with the price increase. I'm sure if I had been playing for years and knew each community day was $1 and it doubled then I would wonder if the increase is worth it.

If i didnt purchase the ticket I wouldn't have gotten the hundo with background meowscarada that i got. The price for tickets isnt actually that much, a game i use to play called forge of empires had events you could spend $100 on and still not get the event item
So you justify it because you got extremely lucky? Really?
@ItzMiKeKirbY no I justify it because the community day tickets are always worth it, you used to get over $1 worth of stuff from the $1 ticket and now with the price increase you still get over $2 worth of stuff from the $2 ticket.
Big mad lmao
