@@jinn_1891 A lot of their music is fitting to events in life, other times it's just good to listen to on your own taking a wash in nostalgia and memories.
Oh girl! That was the best reaction I’ve ever seen to this song! Don’t worry at all, I’ve had that same reaction to this song since it came out in the 70’s. It’s very emotional. So thanks for being authentic! It is timeless music.
Once yet again, I simply love how your vulnerable honesty just shines through, Clevy--we've come to expect nothing less from you. This is a musical punch to the gut, where it hits everyone viscerally, with those primal screams. Thank you for never being fearful to let us know how a song truly affects you.
I doubt anybody has listened to this song and not gotten emotional. It has a hypnotic effect that dives deep into the hearts of the people who hear it.
This coming fro a little white lady barely over 5 feet tall. Can you imagine that? It is supposed to represent from birth until death. One of the most spectacular vocal performances ever done!
Interesting to hear you talk about the different things this made you feel. This song is intended to take you through the stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance. Watching your reaction, I would say you felt some of those. Now that you have heard from others that you don't need to pause so much, I would love to see you do more Floyd in the future. Take good care.
I quote you: "This is unique, this is different, this is beautiful". So I specify: This is Pink Floyd. When we think that originally, before adding the lyric vocals of Clare Torry, the song (The Great Gig in the Sky) was only an innocuous track that was supposed to fill the void ending the side A. But what a wonderful way to fill a void!
PINK FLOYD, "GREAT GIG IN THE SKY". The voice of Clare Torry. Represents the final moments of one's death. All the frustration, wondering what's next, or this is the complete end. Anger, depression, and finally accepting the truth and on earth no more. As you hear her calmly quieting, and her present voice starts to echo with sound of the final piano chord. SILENCE....
ive heard the band called her into the studio. she asked for lyrics, they had none. they began to play what they had musically, she decided she should just ad lib but without words, just feeeeeeling. one, or maybe two takes, onto vinyl it went. wow
I understand pausing for copyright and all of that....but the only way to "feel" a Floyd song is to listen to it from beginning to end with no interruptions. So, I hope you have a comfortable chair so you can kick back and listen again with no interruptions. Then do the same for Comfortably Numb (Pulse Live), Time & On The Turning Away... I guarantee you, after that...you will be "Floyded". Wonderful reaction.
Fun fact after my initial reaction to the song I do listen to it again for 3 to 4 times. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for being here it means the world to me!
GREAT REACTION. THIS I S MY FAVORITE SONG, PERIOD AND SEEING FOLKS LIKE YOU REACT TO IT TAKES ME BACK TO THE FIRST TIME I HEARD IT SO THANK YOU FOR THAT.
Spoken words at the beginning, "And I am not frightened of dying Any time will do, I don't mind Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime." About halfway through, barely audible, "If you can hear this whispering you are dying"
Welcome to one of the greatest progressive rock bands to ever walk the earth. As an "older" Brit who grew up listening to Pink Floyd I would highly recommend doing Side 1 & then Side 2 of the album Dark Side of the Moon This track fits into the album where each track transitions into the next. Trust me the album will make you think😉
Hi friend! I don't know what happened to mine but even after pausing I still have a copyright claim. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for being here it means the world to me.
imagine Mother Earth is crying. She's in pain. What have we done to her. How we are in constant fighting against each other, hating each other instead of Loving and Caring for one another no matter what. Mother Earth is in pain watching her children drifting apart :(
Nice reaction, no need for the 5 second pause thing. May i suggest a couple of pauses where you comment on the song, that is usually enough with pink floyd. A lot of reactors let it play through. You never know with copyright but most floyd reactions are ok. Could see you emotional with this song, it happens to most of us.
Thank you for your honest reaction(s)! I could see the genuine emotions this song appropriately brought out in You, and anyone else who has an ounce of compassion for another. Clare Torry is unarguably THE best! It took THREE singers to take her place in later live concerts, and they *STILL* could not hold a candle to her. Here she is, live, in one of her last concerts...the crowd reaction(s) affirm her position as one of the all-time greats! This is not typical of Pink Floyd. The singer was a session singer they payed to do this. Not a member of the band. However it is typical of Pink Floyd to do something this different. They were musical creative artists not just the standard rock n rollers. Although they could rock with the best of them too.
Congrats Clevy. You've now been "Floyded". I'd highly recommend "Comfortably Numb" or "Time", but it's a loooooong rabbit hole. Good luck and as always, you're reactions are epic!
I don't know what You-tube told you but you don't have to stop a song every 30 seconds to adhere to copywrite laws. Stopping a song 2 times should be more than enough.
Dont interrupt the songs, it annoys us the watchers, and it shows disrespect to the artists. share your opinion afterwards. You dont dare ever pause this unique vocal outpouring of genius.

This is a correct reaction to the greatest nonverbal rock vocal performance ever recorded. Thank you!
This song is about the stages of death, ultimately resolving to peace.
Yes, it is an amazing song. a woman opened her mouth and an angle came out of it and stunned us all.
Totally agree, but it should be "angel", I think, not "angle"!
Was it obtuse or acute?
