@@the_expat NO. I made a lot of assumptions about what the user "@MateiA-s5m" suggested in their comment. NOT about you. This user basically stated that the high level of immigrants in the U.S. caused the lower life expectancy average. Because they were somehow "different" in their "habits". But you may fully agree with their position? That immigration, specifically from post-colonized/developing or "3rd world" countries causes problems, and it would be better if that were not happening. Or perhaps you do not agree with their position, and agree more with my position. It doesn't matter that people discuss different ideas, opinions, and concepts. Thanks for a great video. It would be helpful to have a video about inheritance tax in all the different regions. Some expats in Spain go to Spain to live with their children and they own property outside Spain. Alternatively, they inherit from a parent with property outside Spain. It would be helpful to have a video that explains the tax for these scenarios, in each autonomous region. Thank you.

In the U.S. retirees with proper Medigap supplement such as Part G or Part N pay zero after their Part B deductible ($240). If the monthly premiums too high, get a high deductible Part G, and then 2,700 for the year then full coverage. Doesn't Spain tax foreigners on their pensions and social security? And the laws did change regarding taxes and can change at any time. Just visit and make sure you leave before 180 days each year.
Does Malaga compared to Valencia? How much more international and wealth tax do they pay in Valencia, which was voted best city for ex-pats in the world this year?
While prices in Malaga increased lately, it is still cheaper than Valencia. Valencia is indeed a great city for expats due also to the job market - which is much better than in Malaga.
The wealth tax information is wrong. Yes, Andalucia and Madrid eliminated the wealth tax, but what followed was the leftest central government not liking that and creating a "solidarity tax" for covid for 2 years which is a wealth tax at the federal level. If your state already charges a wealth tax, then you deduct that, but if you were/are from Madrid or Andalucia, you had to pay the federal tax. When the PSOE won again, they made the wealth tax permanent. Now, you get 700k€ per person of assets tax free, and I believe that it could actually be up to 3.7M€ of exemption (Honestly, getting a straight answer is hard - but that means that if you are a couple and have 7.5M in assets or less you can possibly not have to pay). BUT if you have significant assets, legally you will pay the wealth tax unless you have the Beckham exemption which gives you 6 years of exemption.
Doesn't beat Georgia/Sakartvelo at 1% flat tax for most people. 360 day stay permit on arrival. 27% would be acceptable if I'm working as little as possible and already have my savings or pension. But it's somewhat high.
5:20 Dear Expat, yes I asked myself that question, and here is the answer: The US is a nation of immigrants, with people coming from many countries with different life expectancy rates which has an impact on overall life expectancy. Many immigrants bring their own health practices and cultural factors, which can affect life expectancy in various ways. A huge factor in determining life expectancy is heredity, meaning that if your parents and grandparents lived a long life, you most likely inherited the long life gene which is not necessarily related to quality of life, air. water, or food. Thus an American moving to Spain does not automatically extend his life as the narrator is trying to suggest.
@@shotelco Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to respond. 1. In 2023, the life expectancy gap between Spain and the US was only 5 years, not 10 as you stated. Additionally, the narrator compared Spain's life expectancy in 2023 with the US’s in 2021 to exaggerate the difference and make his point. 2. The number of foreign-born individuals in the US presently is estimated to be between 55 and 60 million. This includes a significant number of undocumented Expats. Although these individuals are not counted in official statistics, their health outcomes are recorded, which can impact the overall life expectancy data. 3. The poverty rate in the US is around 12%, although it can be as high as 25% in some economically depressed areas. Your claim of an 80% poverty rate is inaccurate. 4. I agree that for-profit healthcare is a significant issue, and as a healthcare professional, I am well aware of its implications. However, retirees receive quality medical care through Medicare, and low-income individuals are covered under Medicaid. Additionally, the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) provides substantial government subsidies to help people access healthcare. 5. Although I frequently vacation in the EU, I have no intention of becoming an Expat. Rest assured, Spain's high life expectancy and awesome quality of life will not be endangered by my presence. I wish you only the best!

Other than showcasing that the U.S. life expectancy has _Continued to _*_Decline_* for the past 20 years, year-over-year, to 76.4 years, this report, and ALL OTHER Objective, data-driven research comes to the same exact conclusion. Moreover, when health care cost represents the root cause of 66% of ALL BANKRUPTCIES in the US, there is no - in good faith - rationalizing whatsoever how human lives simply do not matter in the US. ...and it AIN'T those lazy, criminal, freeloading, good-for-nothing immigrant's [sic sarcasm] that are causing the Empire to rapidly collapse. Furthermore, as I articulated, a far higher percentage of Spain's population are immigrants as opposed to America (according to a CDC report, the life expectancy was 77.5 years for both sexes - so its an 8-year Delta, not 5) , yet the people in Spain will live for 85.8 years - and _Increasing YoY, _ on average, marginally edging out expected lifespans in Japan (85.7), Singapore (85.4). Let me add this: You response demonstrates you are a _reasonable_ individual. I want to put a question to you as fairly as I can; Is the cultural glue that keeps you beholden to an end-stage Empire simply the Caste privileges' you enjoy at the moment? I ask because the jump to the immigration issue as causal just seems so Tribally irrational to me. To be fair, I am biased with respect to the U.S., its culture, and its dominant Caste. Very biased.
