Perfect timing for this video! I’ve had my F1 for about a week now and first tried out the rotary last night. I wasn’t happy about having to prop up one end of the chuck to engrave on a tapered glass. I was watching this video while laser engraving a tapered beer glass this evening and went straight to xTool’s site to order it.
Thank you for thins. New user....glad I found it. Do I assume that you no longer have a need for the rollers that came with the original device? I didn't see anywhere to reconnect the base plate that holds the rollers
Happy to help! And welcome 😄 That is correct we used the rollers once, switched to the chuck and never looked back. The major issue with the rollers is that the tumbler can shift, we like doing 2 passes with ours first the blue light then the ir for a clean up pass and the rollers aren’t accurate enough for that, so really we just bought the RA2 pro itself for the chuck. Hope that makes sense haha
Looks like a nice bit of kit however when I placed my rotary sans new attachment on the left hand side, the image/design was flipped around! So how did you account for this? Did you mirror the design before hand?
Hi 👋 You would want to put it in the left to do the inside of the ring or else it will be reversed. If you want to keep the rotary on the left for everything else then yeah you would have to flip the image. Or put the rotary on the right side of the f1. Hope that clears it up!
Received the accessory kit yesterdan and installed it today - following this video. All went well but the rotary has some "slop" up and down. is that normal?
Nope, we use all metals that won’t rust, stainless, aluminum, silver stuff like that. I’m sure if you engrave some sort of iron it might rust and you would have to put a coating on it to protect it. Hope that helps
Thank you for another great studio. Awaiting the arrival of mine any day now. QUESTION: Are you using glass ornaments which are hard to find these days -- I can only find plastic ones? Ms "Sam" in TN
Thank you! Yeah we use glass ornaments, we had a lot of success with ones that can be found at Michael’s. If you have one near you they have packs of 8 for about $5
The alignment brckets seem pretty thick in the video. Are they not thick enough if the rotary is sitting on the base plate of the F1 to hold it in place or at least be able to position it?
@@VelfCreations 😂 Thank you for your quick answer. I received my kit today. I haven't assembled my RA2 yet because I wanted to wait until the Accessory Kit is here. Can you tell me where I can find a video on assembling the RA2 Pro?
@@floridalove1We don’t have one on the RA2 pro setup but this guy does a good job going through the setup ruclips.net/video/Se2Vdz2mxCo/видео.htmlsi=ArYmP-PINECTHGf9
When you do the inside of the ring, putting it on the left side produces the correct engraving. If you do it on the right side the engraving will be flipped. It also helps you get closer to the center of the work area with rings. For the tumbler since the engraving is on the outside, you have to mirror the design. Hope that helps!
@@VelfCreations How specific can you do on the outside and inside to engrave. I have seen a little on the outside of people being able to do the whole outside to give it a wood look or the "one ring" from LOTR. But not much on the inside. Would love to see the full potential of the RA2 Pro and the F1 on rings
You guys really are the best! In terms of concise/accurate/helpful videos😊, no one does it better. Thanks so much!!!
Thank you so much! We really appreciate the kind words! Glad you like our videos!

Awesome! Glad we could share with you!
Very nice, could you make a presentation on how to engrave a edge coin with Xtool F1 Ultra?
Thank you
This new accessory looks so useful! I can't wait for when it will be available in the UK xTool website.

@@VelfCreations Thank you for the confirmation. One last question: you only use 1 screw per chuck arm/gripper?
@@nodouttaviation2817 Yup! Makes it much quicker to adjust and we never noticed any downside
Now I know what to use my Xtool points for! Thanks for pointing this review.
Glad it was helpful!
Exactly what I did.

It does. Found out about the reversal thing the hard way. Good to know about the inside of objects part. Thanks!

Where did you get your little rotary power tool that you used for the screws?
We got it off Amazon, it’s called the Fantik E1 Max. We love it!

Hmm 🤔 That is an excellent point! We will try it tomorrow and let you know!
@@VelfCreations And what is the answer to the question posed? ... "tomorrow" was 3 weeks ago 🤔
@@floridalove1 😂 We gave it a try and unfortunately it doesn’t work, the base of the F1 is a bit too high.

It still shows as in stock when I view the link provided in the description (Dec 8, 2023).

Why did you position the RA2 on the left side, and is there anything special you need to do in XCS so it doesn’t engrave backwards?
When you do the inside of the ring, putting it on the left side produces the correct engraving. If you do it on the right side the engraving will be flipped. It also helps you get closer to the center of the work area with rings. For the tumbler since the engraving is on the outside, you have to mirror the design. Hope that helps!
Is there any chance you can use this from the right side?
You you can, but the motor gets in the way for smaller things like rings so it needs to be flipped to the other side.
Could you do some ring videos?
Sure thing! We will put it on our list. Anything specific that you would like to see with rings so we can include that?

Is this useless for the F1 Ultra?
Did the winner of the contest get chosen?
We posted yesterday that a winner has been chosen but they have 48 hours to respond or we will have to re-draw. So nothing official yet
