Just dropping by to tell you that they are back
Mike's an awesome vocalist
he sure is
Honestly this song is on another level. Especially after the breakdown 03:18 whole mood changes and makes you want to scream the lyrics with Mike. Such an underrated band/album/song. They're ahead of their time. Hopefully lvl4 will see light of day...
the vocal arrangements in this song put it right over the edge for me. this is one of the best songs ever created...
Brought here because of The Contortionist, gonna stick around here now...sick, sick stuff.
I completely agree.
+Thad White when you first hear this were you outside the physical realm immersed om the virtual.....either?
+DavidMcDze *ether
i am not your fathers son! lost in the static!
sick name brah!
Loving this here. Dat ending, I mean, wow.
I met Mike last night after seeing contortionist, such a great down to earth guy
me too so cool
dude me too, he was just hanging out by the merch table and taking pics and talking to people
Yeah he's a cool dude, The Contortionist's music has gotten me through many dark times, especially with my PTSD. I met Mike, and told how their music has inspired me, wasn't expecting it, the dude gave me a big hug. That was pretty cool I guess, haha.
Because he returned to earth
This band has evolved in all the right ways. So god damn beautiful.
it hurts me deeply that not enough people are listening to this band
we are
the perfect colaboration of musicians
one of the best bands ever
Damn Micheal your harmonies are angelic.
everyone talking about the vocalist, what about their sick ass bass player and drummer?
+TheAskeithretreats Chris is stupid good
+TheAskeithretreats They're all really dope! Great, great band.
+TheAskeithretreats They're not an overly popular band by any means, which is a huge shame, because all of the members have tremendous talent. As a drummer, this guy is extremely good at what he does. I also love to keep an ear out for bass players, and this bass player is ridiculous! Guitar player has awesome sweeps and really technical solos as well. Loving it!
Eles simplesmente deveriam prolongar mais a progressão de 3:18 em diante. É incrível.
Never really listened to these guys, but I miss The Contortionists old style, as much as I enjoy their new style. This sounds like it was pulled directly from The Contortionists Intrinsic album, so I think I've found a good band to crank for a while.
I swear words can't explain this band, my biggest inspiration
He's on his Sevendust with those vocals ❤❤❤
i love the vibe of this entire album so much
Well... my appetite for all things Prog has been sated for the moment. Quite a tasty track here.
The vocalist is hitting notes and using phrases over those chord progressions that most bands wouldn't think of. Their guitar riffage is easily playable yet compostionally smarter than 99 percent of most metal bands. It's almost humorous how intelligent this is. If someone doesn't see this as respectful or worthy of attention then it's an obvious flaw with perspective and I'm sure their taste will grow in time. Imo this is a much needed addition to a dulling metal genre and I'm thankful for it.
The absolute progression of this band keeps me coming back. This album is going to be yet another amazing release.
Saw them with Evan Brewer and AAL back in 2011. One of the best shows I have been to.
It's everything I hoped for. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album! If you guys read this please just know how thankful I am for your music.
2:13 - 2:58... ear euphoria... so good
I'm going on Monday at Reggies in Chicago. Stoked to see them along with Alaya and Ever Forthright!!
I just can't stop listening!
Listened to this song like, a gillyun times. So good.
I sure do love these boys. I couldn't be more proud of you guys. This is absolutely incredible. ♥
Stepped up their game 10x writing/style-wise, and production-wise.
Thanks for lovely musical video! Added on AClip.
That was so good!
Suddenly in love with this band. Only just found this and lv.2, so different but both perfect
This album has been the only thing I've listened to for about 2 weeks straight now.
Happy to see that these prog and jazz flavors are getting more in metal.
God, I've been following these guys for years, can't wait for level 3
Last chance never fucking sounded so good. Saying i can't wait for this would be an understatement
My wife showed me this band way back in 2012. So happy she did. Haven’t jammed to them in a while. Can’t wait to hear some new music from LCTR!
The Contortionist?
So much growth. This is such a masterpiece for them!
hell yes. been waiting a long time for this exact moment.
This song is just unreal. I had the chills for about the whole song, first song in a long time that has done this. fucking sweet tunes
Please tell me when the album will be available in online shops in continental Europe. Can't find jewelcase version anywhere! Only DL.
Been following these guys since around '09, played a few shows with them in Maine over the years (which is where this band and myself are from) and it's awesome to see how far they have come since then. The new album will be setting the bar for the metal genre and bands within New England. No doubt about it.
I'm really liking the clean melodic vocals.
Love this band! cant wait for Level3!!
OMG this is GREAT!! i can wait for this new album!
both the video and song are amazing, hell yeah \m/
i can't handle how good this is. it's so beautiful; i might just go insane
LYRICS:
Outside the physical realm
Immersed in the virtual ether
Dimensions devoid of consequence
With a solution to every problem
It's meaningless.
Exploring perception,
observing intentions.
Who defines meaning?
Who defines?
Immersion in virtual worlds to escape unmalleable reality.
Out of their minds,
into their eyes
came the worlds of their creation.
Free of imperfection:
Utopia in virtual space.
“Why is this reality of any less value?
Your world is one of death
corruption and false belief.
You could be free.
We could be.."
"But why is this reality of any less value?
Would you choose a crude existence?
We could be free."
Pretty sure it's "corruption" not "destruction". Lyrics and vocals on this song are 10/10
@@grannywalter Thanks, you're right, I'll fix it!
You're a legend for posting the lyrics, man. They add SO MUCH to the song.
OH MAN I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS. So worth the wait.
100k views is criminal, this would hit a million if this released in 2023
They really evolved the right way with this song. Such cool, interesting songwriting but it is the perfect amount of catch-dat-ass factor.
sooo good dudes! glad to know you guys:)
What kind of guitar is the guitar with the stripes on it? not the ibanez I'm talking about the other one
Gonna miss this band, Lessard is going to be a good addition to The Contortionist without a doubt.
This, as a single, makes me very happy. All i can say is, MOAR SHRED PLZ.
So sick!
Nailed it on the head dude. The attention is coming, I can feel it. Keep spreading the word.
Very Nice!
Anyone know maine as theyre growing grounds? And are they still last chance to reason?
Super pumped for this album
FINALLY A band i can play to my mother without her rebuking demons out of me because of the vocals lol
I saw these guys last night in Denver they were fucking awesome!
Saw them live with Evan Brewer and AAL back in 2011 :D
Oh my god, this album is going to be so sweet
HELL YES i'm psyched for the new record
Sad to hear you guys lost your guitarists, but holy mother of christ am i excited for this album!
Sweet science, this is incredible.
Evan uses A Customs :D This song is amazing, I can't wait to see how it coincides with the rest of the album too. Seriously great job, guys.
Lessard is beasting on those vocals!
Any chance this album will be put on vinyl?
Great band. Just "discovered" them!
Took me tons of listens to get into it but now it's amazing. LOVE IT
HI STEVE
@@AlisterTate YO! this is still one of my top favorite LCTR songs. I miss this band so much, I hope they come back one day soon.
what effect is he using when hes singing softly?
Sounds fucking awesome.
Best band out there and also the old The Contortionist up to Instrinsic. 😎
Is that Daniel Noel and Ian Jones? They rock this video!!!!
3 seriously love this
Where can I pre-order a hard copy?
Yes!!!
this band is really interesting. I would like to see them continue with OR without Mike. Whatever happens, they should keep it going!
they've come a long way when i think back of their very 1st music video "SBTBATAC", haha. this song sounds amazing!
....so I'm gonna just have to keep hitting that repeat button for the next coupe of hours.
YES!
Good stuff guys! Not sure if its my headphones or the mix but the bass is too quiet. Thicken his tone a little and turn him up slightly is my recommendation.
I just might have to buy this album.
These are the kind of vocals i wish most metal bands had
so damn good...

At 3:42 does he say "we can be free, we could real" ?
I thought the same at first but it grew on me after a fe listens.
maybe try it a few more times? :)
Please don't disappear. Please.
proper bass volume in the mix 🤌🏻
No one, he's still in the band. Everyone in Last Chance to Reason will be taking part in their own priorities after their headlining tour for awhile and Last Chance to Reason will be something they'll do when they can, so it's basically becoming a second priority for all of them. Mike will be in The Contortionist, everyone else will be doing something else, but they are all still in the band.
Progressive is good
I wish you guys weren't leaving with a swan song that will still make me ravenously crave for more. But if you somehow manage to release something in what was your regular album cycle, that would make my life a lot sweeter.
Nvr knew they had music videos..cool.
Can someone tell me what vocal effect is used through the majority of this song? it's that distant/radio sounding effect, I've heard The Contortionist, Opeth and even Gorillaz use variations of this same effect and it sounds awesome.
I have always wondered what it's called haha
Well I've been able to duplicate it to an extent using an EQ to cut off certain frequencies then adding a bit of Reverb but I can never quite get the same sound, the clearest example of this effect I can think of is the song Riot Van by Arctic Monkeys.
***** Michael (the vocalist) is using a layering technique. He records vocals in multiple tracks with different levels of harmonization. The parts you're hearing that sound like slightly robotic are done this way, but he is probably one of the few who actually goes through that process. If you look through LCTR videos he does a demo of the technique. Bands like The Contortionist use a vocoder to achieve the same effect.
***** It's also worth mentioning that Michael is now TC's vocalist. :)
Cynic is another band that does it
Awesome
"It's meaningless, exploring perception observing intention. Who defines meaning, who defines? Immersion in virtual waves to escape unmalleable reality."
Still bangs in 2024
sure hope so
Really wish I could get a CD of this album :(
dan mayhew about a year ago. This album was $5 on amzon
