I used to listen to these guys all day, every day.. literally.. when I was a drug addict (opiates, painkillers & heroin)... I have been clean 2 years and up until now just hearing them would bring back memories and give me a panic attack. I have FINALLY moved past that and am now listening to them again for the first time sober. It gives me chills up my spine and makes me want to cry that they still sound just as amazing when I'm sober as they did when I was in the worst stage of my life. LCTR is still my favorite band, after spending 10 years in this genre.

Same here. I’ve now been sober for a little over 2 years. This band, as well as The Contortionist, bring back so many memories and it’s hard to listen to. Makes me miss my best friend. I wish I could spend one last day with him.
i almost ruined uk dubstep in a similar manner. no opioids though. i would have never made the connection as to why this would be pleasant to listen to on the way people describe the opioid experience. i have never cared for them. i think i got lucky.
As a former uppers addict, I can relate. Stay on the straight and narrow, music will get you through he toughest times.
There isn't a day I don't think of using, but it's strength within hat gets us thorough. :D
This is literally one of the most legendary albums that have ever been created. SO underrated.
My cousin aj is the lead guitarist. I used to love when the band would come over and party with my parents, all of those dudes have always been really genuine to me and as a kid I thought they were super famous haha little did I know until I grew up, how fucking underrated they truly were.
Level 2 is the best prog metal album I've heard since 'Colors'. Mind blowing stuff !
"We're engineered to fly." First LCTR song I'm hearing, long time fan of The Contortionist, can't believe how similar the rhythms and even chord progressions are to Thrive.
Saw Lessard live with the contortionist a little while ago, and he was absolutely spot on. Probably the most impressive vocalist I've seen live due to the fact that he sounded absolutely perfect.
6 years later, I still think this is one of the best choruses I've ever heard. Thanks for all of the material that you guys have put out.

Anybody who doubts this bands simply needs to see them live. They put on an awesome show. All true metal heads are nerds deep down inside, and this band really touches on your inner nerd. These guys are legit!

they do sound like they are very influenced by Cynic , both vocally and instrumentally influenced .

I’ll be streaming a well as buying immediately because I know how much hard work goes into writing this genre of music! The full version was never finished, unfortunately. All that remains is the demo with this first song, but the game was supposed to include the entire album. Fuck I would've paid big money for something like that.

I think it's crazy how much newer Contortionist sounds so much like Last Chance To Reason. Glad I finally taken the time to listen to LCTR. I'm hooked. Stuff like this, Opeth, Contortionist, and BTBAM are why I want to make a prog band but with a heavy KoRn influence. Just because KoRn is my favorite band.

Mike seems to bring his own sound into the bands he "takes over". I did not enjoy the very early LCTR-he changed that. Lvl 2 and Lvl 3 are excellent! As for The Contortionist they were already one of my favorites before Mike joined I really enjoyed the work they did with Carpenter on board but I also equally enjoy the new direction they have taken. I dont think a day goes by where I dont listen to either of these two bands and I dont know what id do without them.

Worked a Dying Fetus show in Providence years ago. Job for A Cowboy played, Volumes and these guys. I remember they had the video game setup and I talked to Mike but had no idea he would go on to sing in one of the best sounding prog bands I’ve listened to. What a fun show. I was honestly there for Job For A Cowboy.

The benefit however is that you do not have to have a youtube account to watch it and there is no sharing limit as with private videos... so... tell Prosthetic Records to upload a second, private video so we can find it on youtube and make all our friends watch it.

Saw these guys play earlier this week. It was the first time I had heard them. I was really impressed. Bought their new cd from their merch stand and I love it. It's been a long time since I've been to a show where an opening band I'd never heard of left an impression on me. The new cd is awesome.

Goosebumps from start to finish, one of the most original bands I've heard in a while, complex yet simple riffs, killer breakdowns, angelic singing, it's what deftones, tool and slipknot would sound like if they all got together and wrote a song.
I just liked this for the solos.
I seen there were to many dislikes . So i signed in just to like it .
Good thing he joined The Contortionist :D That way The Contortionist will surely continue making Intrinsic-like albums, which was an absolute masterpiece! I hope Last Chance To Reason doesn't suffer from it though, as they are the only other band that could please me after hearing Intrinsic.
As far as I'm aware, Mike's treating Last Chance to Reason like a side project, now. That could be bad, but who knows.

I really liked intrinsic, but I much prefer exoplanet. Fucking psyched about their next album though! Can't wait to see what they have in store
Exoplanet was great, my introduction to The Contortionist, but Intrinsic...Man :D I can't describe the feeling I get when I listen to that album. It's a trip through the universe. It has these mind soothing parts that just let you drift away :)
