I'm a Post graduate in Physics, and I'm highly concerned about the misleading title of this video. Students are not taught wrong in schools. The fact is that, the physics syllabus in school is only taught at the atomic structure level ie. electrons, protons and neutrons . What's inside the proton is another big branch of physics which is called "particle physics" that can be studied only if u choose "particle physics" specialisation in M. Sc physics. So there's no need to go into sub-atomic level for school students. Edit: As a Physics subject teacher, my students saw this video and they are confused if whatever they are studying in their syllabus is wrong and whether they should continue studying the same. The title of this video itself is enough to make them doubt whatever they are studying regardless of what's explained in the video.

Just a few corrections : Neutrons were discovered in 1932 and were not even mentioned in the Rutherford model based on Geiger and Marsden experiment. Neil Bohr came to do his post doc work at Cambridge lab with Thompson and Rutherford and left in between as he got a position in Copenhagen by the way the preface to Bohr's model published in July 1913 was written by Rutherford .Beauty of science .
(At 0.51 secs) Rutherford only experimentally proved the existence of nucleus (probably) at the center of the atom... But he didn't give exact location of electrons...

Everyone is saying then colleges should not teach this and upgrade and everything but what's gonna happen is that the new model will be added to the syllabus that's it but I think it is correct to keep the failed models because For ex: bohr created his model of atom which failed but Rutherford used that model and upgraded it If model1 is created and others learn that model and modify it to 2 and so on If we don't learn 1 and try again from scratch we will be stuck in model 1 only

As a Researcher I would like to ask a question to all the people who says did school teach us wrong? 1) How would you explain to the students the flow of electricity? 2) How would you show the structure of atom or how the stable atom look like to the school kids? okay with respect to AI I have question how would you show the structure of neural network to a student who is learning basics of AI? Would you start explaining on the higher level? if you do that then students will stop coming to school next day. So rather then saying the atoms structure is wrong or right, try to learn the concepts in initial state, so when you get into higher class or education, then you can understand the complexity of those subject matter. Lets considering this video itself he said Activation decides which of the neuron in the hidden can be active or not, right? yes, this is low level where it is easy to understand what activation function does, or in other words if i say Activation function is used to create non-linearity in the neural network. is it possible to understand for the beginner. also there will be no circles available in neural network then why it is shown? just for understanding. Also the research on Atoms still going on. we might not have still those instruments where we could deep dive and see how atoms sub particles are moving inside atoms. Those learning is conceptual learning.

Maybe that extra Mass is converted into energy in form of Binding Energy, because same is the case of nucleus of Atoms. The total mass of Proton & Neutrons is larger than the Mass of nucleus of that Atom

Everyone is saying then colleges should not teach this and upgrade and everything but what's gonna happen is that the new model will be added to the syllabus that's it but I think it is correct to keep the failed models because
For ex: bohr created his model of atom which failed but Rutherford used that model and upgraded it
If model1 is created and others learn that model and modify it to 2 and so on
If we don't learn 1 and try again from scratch we will be stuck in model 1 only

As a Researcher I would like to ask a question to all the people who says did school teach us wrong?
1) How would you explain to the students the flow of electricity?
2) How would you show the structure of atom or how the stable atom look like to the school kids?
okay with respect to AI I have question how would you show the structure of neural network to a student who is learning basics of AI?
Would you start explaining on the higher level? if you do that then students will stop coming to school next day.
So rather then saying the atoms structure is wrong or right, try to learn the concepts in initial state, so when you get into higher class or education, then you can understand the complexity of those subject matter. Lets considering this video itself he said Activation decides which of the neuron in the hidden can be active or not, right? yes, this is low level where it is easy to understand what activation function does, or in other words if i say Activation function is used to create non-linearity in the neural network. is it possible to understand for the beginner. also there will be no circles available in neural network then why it is shown? just for understanding.
Also the research on Atoms still going on. we might not have still those instruments where we could deep dive and see how atoms sub particles are moving inside atoms.
Those learning is conceptual learning.
