Virtual Walk round Stonehaven with Alistair Lawrie

Anne and Ged created this virtual walk for us earlier in the year.
Now, as part of the Across the Grain Festival 2020, Alistair Lawrie has added his own commentary in Doric.
Alistair Lawrie is a Peterheid loon that nowadays bides in Steenhive. A former dominie, he now works part time as a Community Learning worker. His short story “Delivery” won the William Soutar Prize 2016 and his poetry and stories have been published in “The Interpreter’s House”, “The Poets’ Republic” an “Northwords Now”; he coedited the Scottish sea anthology “A Glimmer Of Cold Brine” which contains his short story “The Boxie”. He runs weekly creative writing sessions for the Mearns Writers collective in Stonehaven (Thursdays) and Inverbervie (Mondays). The poem quoted is called “Fog”.

Thanks so much for sharing this video. We stayed in Stonehaven when we visited Dunnottar Castle and truly enjoyed our time there. The voiceover is music to my ears.

We had planned a trip to Scotland which like many plans this year was postponed so thanks for the tour, it was marvelous. Kath from Sydney
