Several years ago i was employed by a london firm which meant i was fortunate enough to travel great distances in UK. This allowed me to witness for myself the many breath taking, mind blowing landscapes, historical towns and rural places that i would never have imagined existed in this country. Growing up in a city can have that effect. lol. ☯

Its embarrassing that i'm 60 and I didn't visit Scotland till I was 50 and I only live 200 miles away ! Been a few times to Edinburgh now and love it !

We visited from Australia in January . It was cold but sunny
We stayed in Aberdeen which had beautiful Granite buildings
We stopped in Stonehaven a lovely place and then visited Dunnottar Castle which was a real highlight of the trip to Scotland. Absolutely beautiful place amazing. My daughter who is 11 loved it also
So want to go back to Scotland to see so much more

If you're popping past the Midlands, Warwick Castle is a must see, fully intact and old
Worked at IBM in Warwick in 95. Lovely town and did the Castle and racetrack thing. Castle Balti...best Indian restaurant ever.

Love you two. When I was about 17 to 21, me and my mates would pull out a map of our local area in Scotland to find old castles and keeps, then drive there and climb the ruins. We made sure they were way off the beaten track. There are hundreds. Peace x

I live here (stonehaven) and it's always nice to see how visitors appreciate the beauty of this place.
I am English and I see this all the time (sort of) I think we here forget how lucky we are with our countryside and ancient heritage.
Have a great trip, and stay out of the big cities they all look alike.

Wow....... you're in my neck of the woods. I'm impressed that you've ignored the more obvious touristy destinations (Edinburgh, Highlands) and gone off the beaten track to find some hidden gems. Hope you enjoy your trip. Weather will be variable but you'll probably expect that.

if you like your castles - you may want to try Banburgh castle in the North East of England - or Alnwick Castle not far away with its (in)famous gardens!
Welcome to the UK. Scotland, my homeland is beautiful , stunning, with the cleanest of air. I only flew back to Scotland a few weeks ago taking my eldest grand daughter to see my childhood haunts. I was born near Linlithgow palace where Mary Queen of Scots was born. Now live near Winston Churchills old house. Enjoy and breath deep.

If you get a chance when you're in England I can highly recommend a visit to Arundel Castle or Windsor Castle, they're breathtakingly beautiful.

Well, this is a surprise! Hopefully the weather will be comfortably ideal for you while you are here. Summertime is a late starter this year in the U.K. and has still to get up to speed, even by our standards of variable weather unpredictability.
However, with daylight from about 4:00am - 10:00pm the option to do, see and experience a lot each day is a bonus. If you feel obligated to try Fish and Chips, especially in locations nearer the sea. Haddock is the fish of choice, rather than Cod. ( IMO )
I’m sure we all hope you have a wonderful time and experience while you are here and we look forward to you sharing it with us in the videos you produce.
France, by the way is beautiful! So that’s something else for you to look forward to as your trip continues. 😎

So much to see in the UK. I hope you are able to visit Scotland's west coast. Skye, Mull, Staffa and Iona are all worth seeing.
Over the border, Alnwick, Bamburgh, Bishop Auckland and Raby Castles are excellent places plus Durham Cathedral and York Minster.
Definitely Mull, Skye, Arran and Iona my spiritual home 💞🏴

Enjoy your visit to our beautiful Scotland. Pretty much everywhere you go you will find it stunning. One trip I would suggest is the West Coast Highland Train Journey. Let the train take the strain and take in the views.

Edinburgh is lovely, if you head South, Hadrian's wall is near the border the old Roman wall running east to west like a mini great wall of china.
I'd go the lake District next its lovely too.
I'd say the middle of the country where I live is a little rubbish but the Cotswolds are a must a tad further south.
Oxford is a great city, London I guess is a must too. Enjoy!

if come down the west coast south ayrshire , you should pop into Culzean Castle , there is a suite in it which was given to one of your Presidents , i wont tell you who as you can find that out for your self , also a few miles fae that is the golf course that is owned by Trump , and out in the the water is a a volcanic plug called Ailsa Craig which all the Olympic curling stones come from , and just past that is Arran , hope you enjoy whatever you do and make many fantastic memories , love fae S.W.Scotland
