@@ellaw571 wahhh the live performance with the band especially the oe in japan trilogy performance of this was just onfire🔥🔥🔥thats the first performance i watch from them..not even army that time and since then i keep watching thier performance
It should be mentioned that BTS themselves changed a lot since their debut song, and the same lyrics have been used in multiple songs to show how they have changed their minds or have grown over time. No More Dream is in direct contrast to their song Paradise which talks about how it's ok to not have big dreams, and to just live in the moment, and to be happy. Suga repeats the lyrics: Big house, big cars and big rings in very different contexts across the following songs: Home, Interlude Shadow and What Do You Think (his solo from D2)
It's amazing how they have approached the idea of having a dream from very different angles throughout their discography. From asking young people to have an original dream (No More Dream) to 'it's okay to take a pause' (Tomorrow) to 'it's okay to not have any dreams' (Paradise). And these are just the big notes - there's quite a bit of nuance across songs.
And just a reminder, RM ranked high on the mock national tests - could have gone to the top universities if he wanted to - and he wrote a whole essay to his parents about why he wanted to pursue being a rapper instead of something more traditional. This song is BTS talking to themselves as well as others. They really said, we're gonna take a risk and live our own path in life, just watch us succeed.
BTS members wrote songs about what they knew. They started as a group at the age where most members were still in their teens, therefore you get their debut of No More Dreams about pressures of teens doing what they don't have a passion for. A few years older, they wrote Baepsae about the unfairness of life of being young adults. Their albums starting from their first explored their paths in life from their teens to their current journey as mostly mid twenty something adults. So it would be odd if they still dressed and wrote songs about moms telling them to go to school at their current ages in No More Dreams music video.
The message of this song is simple. Don’t waste your youth and do something you really want. This song is for teenagers, especially high school students. At 17:21 night study session was part of the curriculum of high school education system in Korea at that time. Korean students had to study at night until 10pm in high school. Fortunately, it was abolished a few years ago.
The fact that they started with a meaningful message from their first debut song.. And still going till now with the love yourself era. It's sooo cool. An intelligent planned sequential goal and message.. It's hard to do so but they are bts 🙏 kings for real.

Something I love about BTS' discography is that you can follow their mentality (and where they stood in life) solely through their music. They wrote songs about school for the first three albums, cuz they were all in high school at the time or freshly out of it. Then they wrote about youth for the next three albums, cuz they were all adults at that point, focusing on the ups and downs and pressures that come with facing your late teens/early 20s. Then they wrote the love yourself series, the journey of figuring out the path to self love and acceptance. As grown men they're writing the map of the soul series (which is ongoing I believe), where after reaching ultimate superstardom they are trying to differentiate their media persona from who they really are. 💜 RM once said 'theres nothing fake bout this' (their music) and I couldn't agree more with him.
ah, this song is still so good, the live performance never gets old too Edit: when you said human are animals of habit, that reminds me of Suga's lyrics in People : 'who said humans are the animal of wisdom? Obviously, we are animals of regret' 🔮
Even their debut song was a banger…BTS are born rebellions always challenging stereotypes…and a big shoutout to our baby kookie rapping so hard…BANGTAN FOREVER 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
2013 bts to 2021 bts are such an evolution for me...every era of them ,show how bts grow...not only on thier physical appearance, but with the music they have as well..each era ,you can easily see say ahh this no more dream era,ahh this was blood seat ad tears era, dynamite era and so on ...its just that each time they do a come back, they showcase growth on them but still the root from where they started are still there..
I was living in Korea in 2013 when this first came out. My husband and I used to watch the music shows and make fun of the new "try-hard" boy bands that were coming out. We often skipped over their performances ... looking back, I probably skipped right over BTS! I regret it now, but I found BTS when I most needed them, so it worked out, lol. But I thought this was super cringey. Now I love this song a lot, especially when they do updated live stages. The lyrics still hold up so well!
I heard this song in my first semester of college and didn't know what it would be like in the future because law school was my parents' dream, not me. I grew up with BTS songs. like they were monitoring my progress. I'm not stuck in a song that always talks about love for a boyfriend.
*HAHA THIS IS WHAT IM WAITING, i mean their DEBUT SONG* *"WE ARE BULLET PROOF PT2"* too And there is continuation of this song *"WE ARE BULLET PROOF PT2: ETERNAL"*
Loved your analysis! BTS have talked about the idea of having a dream in different ways since their debut. For example, their song Paradise which came out 3 years ago is kind of in contrast to what they say in this song, but I’m not going to go into detail about Paradise since I want you both to analyse it on your own. I love how their lyrics and way of thinking have evolved over the years, and Paradise is one of my all time favourite songs so I highly recommend it!
I have been enjoying your voyage into BTS. I feel so old lol...I am 48 year old former teacher. I left the profession due to it not giving kids proper guidance on how to live/learn. Basic skills aren't taught so we now have young people who know nothing of simple finance, common sense analysis, self reflection, self development, or how to garner mentors to find/attain dreams. US public schools are a failure by every metric. I could not longer be party to crushing kids when my passion is encouraging kids/young adults. To me, the "you're such a liar" line is directed at the parents/teachers who say that certain dreams are approved and lead to future happiness. If you have kids someday, do not put them in public schools...it saps souls.
🔮 If you haven’t seen them, I would love to see your reaction to the Rise of Bangtan ongoing series with deleted&bonus content. This series is really good and start at the beginning of their careers and are working their way to present. It also explains more about the kpop industry and the difference between most groups compared to BTS (especially when they debut). Also when do you guys do live streams?
YES!! Please react to RISE OF BANGTAN - it is essential watching for every new ARMY to properly appreciate our boys. Watching it brings back so many memories of triumphs and struggles, laughter and tears we have shared with the boys during this amazing journey we are on together and is hands down the best documentary of BTS out there.

So happy you reacted to their debut song! I’ve been a BTS fan for a couple of years. Started off listening/watching their most popular songs at first and liked them enough to check out their early discography from the beginning and i was so impressed. It were these early songs that made me an ARMY. As teens right outta the gate they were already addressing the issues that people their age were dealing with. South Korea places so much importance on education and excelling in your studies to make sure you get into one of the 3 top universities in order to secure a stable lifestyle and as a result it has one of the highest teen suicide rates in the world. This important message of breaking out of that cycle and to actually have real dreams to pursue your passion instead of following along with what your parents/society want resonated with not only teens in SK but also so many other young people in other countries. Their messages continued to do this as their career progressed and that’s one of the main reasons they are so huge globally and have die-hard fans. I suggest reacting to another early video for their song N.O. that deals with the similar message but visually totally different. It’s full on youth rebellion and cool to watch. By the way, did your reaction to their Cypher Medley get taken down?
BTS was always criticized in Korea because of their learycs, in some way, they went against tradicional, extreme system. Their first three albums talk about SCHOOL , their Second three albums talk about YOUTH, in these albums they talk about puberty and all teens needs dreams.... And more. They have been sending messages since their debut (very beginning) the real ESSENCE of BTS "MESSAGES". As always great reaction guys!!! Thank you so much!!! 💜💜
As a Korean ,I can say they were not critized by koreans but by some toxic fans of their rival groups and hiphop fans. But yes it was sooo systematic and traumatising..
Honestly, this song remains one of my favorite BTS songs. I just love it. If you want another great song that comments on the education system, I recommend "NO". That song is another that I love very much and I think you would enjoy.
This also reminds me of the song “Strange” from Agust D’s mixtape. We are slaves to the system since birth. Anyone who opens their eyes to the systematic oppression are considered as weirdos. BTS came out of the gates with this type of message and challenged the typical Idol industry rules. That’s probably why a lot of people tried to stop them but couldn’t.
Listen to the song OUTRO-Tear, made at the time when BTS became famous and even considered disbanding when it was psychologically exhausting and difficult due to many schedules and people's expectations. LOVE YOURSELF 'Tear'
Thanks for bringing back our gangsta boys.. This is when they were still fetus but savage.. Those times when Namjoon was so insecure of his looks that he kept on wearing sunglasses for his swag.. When Kookie belong to the rap line and when Jiminie got less hair in his armpits. Hahhah. He loved to flaunt his good physique though (too bad we seldom see it these days), when Hobi restrained his funny side and happy virus. When Jin ended up crying after their stage performance due to wardrobe malfunction.. When Suga still complained about their hard choreo.. and when V can't control his random personality.. I am following these boys since then and am very proud on how they evolve through time and become strong through hardships.. Thanks again guys.. Check out their dance practice on Bangtantv their official yt channel..
🔮 I hope u guys react to more of their older stuff, so u can see how BTS spoke for the youth.. very inspirational! In words of Suga.. I believe "It's insfires man".. 😆
I really enjoy your videos, I can see you have life experience because your comments are on point and with true content! Congrats for your channel! I don’t know your names.
Your reaction videos are great! I've been watching for weeks now and I love how you analyzed BTS' lyrics 🔮 Please also react to Gogo, Anpanman, Attack on Bangtan, Jump, We are Bulletproof Pt.2, N.O. Save Me, Run, I need U....There's still a lot.. I can't even type them all here.
love your channel. i wish more people subscribe cos your lyrics analysis are really cool. 🔮 damn. you make me look at all emojis i didn't even know existed. thanks! hahaha
🔮 so if BangtanTV doesn't have the lyrics which I think may be 3 of the early vids, 1theK has it. They are both official and count the views to charting. 😉
🔮 It was a tough and slow grind for BTS to find success in Korea which was around 2016 and they crossed over to the US in 2017. They really dreamed big from the start and now they’re huge all over the world.
BTS were rising in fame in the US before 2017. The fans and the demand were already there. Wings album hit 26th on the Billboard 200 chart in 2016. This is before their distribution deal with Columbia Records (2018).
The costumes were a mess but this song holds a special place. Also check out the live performance they did a in 2016 ago in concert. Here's the link- ruclips.net/video/GmI5gNuqd18/видео.html
I think magic shop will be good bc bts said to army that army give bts all to what they become today and bts said like its time to army to give themselve their best idk but something around that topic and magic shop is a song that bts to army 💜
Have you guys reacted to N.O yet? One of their old songs! Hardcore hiphop BTS 😁the lyrics are meaningful and the choreo is insane! "Bulletprof pt.2" is also a banger..the choreo is jaw-dropping
S.Korea is a country with such a small amount of land with almost no natural resources while their population density is one of the highest in the world. So what s.Korea's got is literally nothing but human resource. They have no choice but to study and compete soooo hard. It's kinda sad when we see some countries large in area with abundant natural resources..

this video made me laugh a lot! I'm glad you watched their debut track, can't wait to see your reactions to their other earlier work! 🔮
Crystal ball emoji! Oh and No More Dream remains as one of my top 5 BTS songs. :)
Need to watch the live performance. No More Dream
🔮 “We are huge dreamers” Yes! 👏🏻
You guys never fail to crack me up within the same video u deliver serious messages.🤠🤣
When they pause the video for the first time, you’re in for 7 minutes of talking
🔮🔮🔮🔮 Crystal ball all day baby!!! Dance puppet dance and I'm dancing. Thanks guys for the work you do.
Ahhh…Baby Bangtan.. this is always a delight to watch. 😊🔮
Listen to the song OUTRO-Tear, made at the time when BTS became famous and even considered disbanding when it was psychologically exhausting and difficult due to many schedules and people's expectations.
LOVE YOURSELF 'Tear'
🔮 I am a math teacher, I used to say to my students "reach for the stars and you might just catch the moon" .🙂
And next....We are bulletproof pt.2!🙄💜
OMG baby Bangtan! 😭 Another great reaction. I can't wait until you see We Are Bulletproof part 2 and N.O video. You're in for a treat!
Guys you've done a great reactions how you giving analysis so great . Learn more about BTS. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and healthy God bless 💓💓💓
I believe
"It's insfires man".. 😆
I really enjoy your videos, I can see you have life experience because your comments are on point and with true content! Congrats for your channel! I don’t know your names.
🔮🔮🔮 so happy you got this one. I keep forgetting about discord lol
Thanks for the content guys! 🔮
Also, love the MtG hoodie!
🔮🔮🔮 Love you guys... congratulations 🍾 on your growth!
In this debut song they were strictly addressing adolescents. Their first 3 albums are dedicated to school/ adolescent life.
love your channel. i wish more people subscribe cos your lyrics analysis are really cool. 🔮 damn. you make me look at all emojis i didn't even know existed. thanks! hahaha
🔮 so if BangtanTV doesn't have the lyrics which I think may be 3 of the early vids, 1theK has it. They are both official and count the views to charting. 😉
Thanks guys! 🔮
🔮 ohhh the debut song. Such memories 💜
ON Kinetic Manifesto's ending harkened back to this song.... 1st ended with "No More Dream" banner, whereas "ON" ended with Dream banner....
I Need U was their big break in 2015. It was the song that made me a fan.
I'm looking for your reaction THE RISE OF THE BANGTAN series.
The costumes were a mess but this song holds a special place. Also check out the live performance they did a in 2016 ago in concert. Here's the link-

Perfect 💜~~
I'm so exited 🤗🤗🤗
