She forgot to mention the BTS started out as a hip hop group. Their earlier songs are hip hop and R&B heavy.

Not surprised she didn't, Boracity has several videos about how BTS' music style hasn't changed as heavily as a lot of people like to pretend, it's just more polished now than when they started. BTS have continued to release hip-hop and R&B songs through the years, and they had a large variety of genres already back in the day.
I'm referring to her video about people who say they "hate BTS' new sound", which is not what you're saying but she makes some great points in it either way if you're interested :)

@@himaririku9254 I agree, at this point with the level of success and recognition BTS has worldwide it's unfair to limit them to just K-pop. They have truly transcended the label and while they will always honour their roots in the K-pop system they have long outgrown it. They've left a space for groups with a fraction of their success to shine instead while BTS goes on to conquer bigger and better things :) Silly place to show your support but thank you army 💜
Nah don’t worry about pausing, reading the lyrics and replaying parts!! That’s why we are watching those reaction videos in the first place, because we want to SEE other ppl discover and be amazed by BTS

I am a male in my mid 30's and already have a son but i listen to one of their song and now i am their fans, seriously i never expect that i could find a group that have a diverse music, and i love it.

I enjoy watching your reactions. I'm a 58 yr old ARMY that loves music.. (old school, new school,, all of it, as long as it's good.) I have never experienced another group like our Bangtan 7. I hope that you take your time & find the music that you love within their discography. As far as music is in today's world, I believe that they make the most diverse, introspective, uplifting, healing, positive music ever. I experience the same ! Big fan of music too, my fav are neil young, dire straits, queen, ben harper, Pearl Jam... but BTS is something more ! And they bring me what I had never found in a music band : joy, comfort, peace and love. I admire them so so much and I'm 50 from France 🇫🇷 🤩🤩🤩

Ps….in Taylor Mari’s guide it tells you the name of the song that is being performed in the corner. A lot of reactors miss that and ask viewers to comment which song they just heard a part of or whichever caught their attention etc.

Always happy to see someone who wants to learn more about our guys. 56 year old ARMY since 2018. They currently range between 32 and 27 years old. Hi thank you for your reaction one thing though boracity works really hard on her videos and she doesn't mind reactions but she asked that she at least be credited for the work so if you could change the title to add her name that would be great. She is really hard-working and well-respected in the Army community. Coldplay are the Second Biggest Globe Group/Band after BTS. They are one of my countries home grown Rock Bands. Chris Martin their Leader is great song writer btw and in that clip that is Chris Martin of Coldplay the rest of the Band is further up stage this was at an American Award Show where they won yet another USA Music Award and together they had the 6th Billboard Number 1 in row.

JUNGKOOK has a global funk hit song. Standing Next To You. It charted Worldwide and broke so many record's. Usher liked it so much he wanted to jump on the track and so he did a remix of it with Jungkook. I recommend watching the official MV first then the performance video with Usher.

Really, in short:
K-Pop means...
K - Korean (Though, specifically South Korean)
Pop - simply means "popULAR"...as it SHOULD be in the U.S., but isn't. Whatever is popular in South Korea is "K-Pop" - Western-type pop reminiscent of The Jackson 5, New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys and others (of course), but K-Pop also includes rap, rock, jazz, and pretty much any other genre you can think of.
Do Note: The trainee period they talked about? Unlike in Western pop where these kids/young adults go to a dance studio to practice their moves or the recording studio to work on their vocals...then go home to mom/dad...in K-Pop, larger companies will buy an entire apartment block. They have floors and sections dedicated to the females and males. For smaller companies, they just rent a single unit in an apartment complex close to the company's headquarters. Either way, they have as few as 2 to as many as 10 people in each unit in the apartments. Each unit is considered a "dorm". Once members are selected, all of the other trainees are moved around so that the "new group" can all live together in the same dorm. So, these kids LIVE there...away from their parents. Not too bad for a 20 year old...or even a 16 or 17 year old...but there are many who start as young as 10 or 11! The company pays for everything - rent, utilities, food, clothing, etc. (Families CAN send financial support (rare) and gift packages (basic necessities, much more common) but most simply can't afford to - essentially - pay for "2 households". In BTS, Jin's family was the only one who could have...and HE refused, wanting to go through "everything" his fellow band mates had to.) What does that mean? Companies keep track and "collect" all of that money after a group debuts. BTS, though they debuted in 2013, didn't see their first real pay check until 2016/2017. For bands that fail, or those kids who never debut/quit training and go back home? Yep...they're in debt to their company, often for years, sometimes for decades. Just think about that...if you ever have or are currently living in an apartment, how much is monthly rent? Utilities? Groceries, shampoo, cleaning supplies, down to even your towels, wash clothes, toothbrushes and more when those smaller items need to be replaced...it adds up quick! For those underage, their parents are responsible to start a payment plan. For the young adults who start training "late" (most companies do prefer those under 19 - legal age in South Korea) and quit/don't debut, of course, the responsibility to pay back the company is all theirs.
Sorry this was so long, but having a deeper understanding of the training period is helpful when discussing K-Pop.

a lot of us, myself included, are very cautious due to our experiences and it might take time to really convince us.
we're very protective of the guys, so don't take it too personal.
i can only say that i think you're going in the right direction, don't be worried about pausing, reading, watching several videos cause you happen to stumble from one into the other opposed to planning everything out. like, go with the flow.
there's no right path to get to know them.
there's so much content and things you don't know. it's a lot, so eventually you get there.
Maybe starting a patreon could work to post content RUclips blocks, I know many other reactors who do that, some have it as a paid thing and others post it for free on patreon, it’s an idea and something to look into if interested!
