This song is like a stormy autumn day with dramatic clouds in the sky and incredible colours....only to be brightened up by a hole in the clouds, revealing the rays of an orange evening sun. That's my association with this song.
I'll keep dropping comments on all of their RUclips content as I familiarize myself with their catalogue. All of their creation is choice. Every note. Every rhythm. Choice. 💯
3:43 is one of the most uplifting changes I've heard since I have been listening to metal.. unbelievable that I've only been listening to about 5-6 songs over the last few days and I would say you have already over taken my favorite band AND another band who has my favorite prog album so far... I've had the same opinions for the last 10-12 years and you guys changed it in 1 day. Can't wait to see you guys getting the views, tours and following a band of this level deserves!
This song is just flat out incredible. The bridge section has one the most menacing riffs i think I've ever heard, and when it changes right before going into the final chorus is a genius transition. By the end it feels like a mini-epic. It's fucking brilliant.
Finally taked the time to listen to Applause of a distant crowd in its entirety and i was inmediatly blown when this song played, its definitly now on my top VOLA's favorite songs. Its so beautiful.
HOW DID I JUST FIND THIS AFTER YEARS OF LOVING VOLA??? "Black Mountain Dew" That was one of the best flavors ever!!!! 😭😭😭 this reminds me so much of Starburn with the way the lyrics are displayed live.
New fan as of two days ago and I am hopelessly hooked on "Whaler" and "Smartfriend". Wicked growling riffs, grooving drums, clean vocals, piercing synths, and killer hooks are making you guys some of my favorite music!
VOLA is one of those bands which I did not admit at first. There was only one song that caught me. Then I went to their concert and something changed... Started to listen to the whole discography. Suddenly I realised I was listening to the 2 albums the 5th time.... This is how I fell in love with this band
@@TheEpicLH For me it was Golden Lighthouse Failure. The heavy intro contrasting to the vocals caught me. And that was during a time where I didn't really like clean vocals, but it just stood out a lot.
This album is a jewel, when music fills you with joy and happiness, everything is said, all you need is listen and sing along feeling good... Greetings from Argentina, and I wish to have the opportunity to see a show of you guys here ... cheers!
I have been a huge rock-& metal fan for almost 30 years now, and I am so glad that there are artists out there who just "hit the nail" and create something as beautiful, emotional and catchy as you guys do. This is without any doubt my favourite song of the last months. Was just wandering what "whaler" is really about :-) loving the freedom of interpretation but was just curious....See you in Stuttgart. Will there be any limited vinyl for sale?
Guys, I have been listening to really all sorts of music for the last 20 years and this song is astonishingly good. Please, please, more! It reminds me of Aylin Aslim - Ahh !
a true masterpiece! complex yet tight, heavy yet uplifting, they really hit the spot combining Opeth/Meshuggah/Steven Wilson. congrats and keep up the awesome work!
Nice! Do Ruby Pool next if possible, cheers from Zagreb, your concert was one of 2018's highlights and that is no small feat when I also saw bands like The Ocean, Deafheaven, Clutch and other big boys. You lads are a breath of fresh air in an ironically formulaic scene (for the most part let's be real). Keep at it!
VOLA is a glitch in the Matrix, and I think this song is proof of it. This song is like AI trying to “act natural” and make sense. Attempting to “fit in,” using all the wrong words in right places. It’s becoming self aware, while falling apart, and trying to keep it together.
@@volaband Hopefully you'll be at next years Euroblast. Ill be coming from New York again and I would love footage of you guys. I hope John sees this, haha!
@@gabrielcorrea3016 the melody in the verses sound just like Steven Wilson wrote it. The band has also stated they're big fans of PT. It reminds me of Deadwing or their later albums
As the only guy wearing a red shirt in the video... I'm so happy you used footage from this show.
Adam my dude
You and red-hair girl stand out hard, specially between two white shirt dudes
You must be a secret time travelling mate ;) Great choice, indeed!
3:14 ! Awesome! I'd discovered Vola a few months back and spent all day listening! 🤟🏽
That's hilarious dude lol

Vola, Tesseract, Jinjer...simply the best things you can expect from the music world. LOVE 'EM.
That groove is so arrogant and seductive.. It's hypnotic and amazing!
Agreed, you can't deny the bands skills at all. They are great.

So happy i found Vola. It is a whole different level, it's one of my favourites allready, regards from Scandinavia :P
I almost forgot to come here again and listen to this for the 3rd time today
Hehe. Glad you came back:)

Please for the love of everything good, come to the Americas
Adam's drumming aesthetic swagger is so visually pleasant, besides musically of course
It has some kind of a Mastodon's Leviathan vibe to me. Love it
