I wish I had the credentials to convince golfers this man REALLY knows his stuff. Start to finish - suggest someone otherwise. Padraig, is another. Thank you, Mr Taylor.

Excellent! I’ve actually been working on this quite a bit even before I saw the video. Thanks for the confirmation:)

Jake did a golf video about this and he was lit up hard by the "professional bogey king amateurs" in his chat. He's the guy who makes the sing along golf videos. I wish I could share this with that chat.

    Great video!
To elaborate. My one swing thought I do a clockwise baton twirling of my club using both hands and wrist at the top of my backswing. Combined with my trail side scapula pulling towards my spine for my backswing followed by my lead side scapula pulling towards my spine for my downswing; at age 77 I am loving my golf. Cheers 😊🥂👍

Great, Jonathan! That is exactly what I am trying to change in my swing at the moment. So, this is a confirmation that I am rehearsing it the correct way.

Could you say the up/down action of the wrist is a hammer motion, and the back and forth action a throw? It's hard to throw when the wrists are in the up hammer position, so if you release the hammer action to get to club parallel then you can throw the club through the hit zone with the momentum from the top.

There is a release order of alignments that is very helpful to know. That said, conscious manipulation is very dicey due to speed and time.

When i had a long laborious backswing i felt/held lag coming down, but no distance but straight so could break 90 occasionally 80 but now i use ground pressure vertical force and fast body action i have to try to and get back to square impact release early as i have far less time now break 80 regularly and expect to break 70 this year

That is great Graham, it is all about balancing the forces in your swing. When the pressure you apply to the handle meets an equal pressure that you apply to the ground you are on track to reach your true potential.

@@JonathanTaylor63 Yes although exciting its frustrating that my ball striking/swing is getting better at 64! my take is that all pros (and all at my club lower than my 5 hcp) learnt as weak kids but most of us golfers learnt as strong adults
When we started we worried about missing topping so no vertical forces, then we tried to hit it straight to much lateral steering
Kids dont care and have to use ground pressure vertical force to move the club away and up as its so heavy

I will say that the bent wrist in transition is essential, but everyone gets there differently. Stronger players can just hold it there from the backswing. Weaker players need more play in the wrists to get there and have power.

Shorthand: you mean cast but retain wrist fexon (bent backward)?

    • @JonathanTaylor63
      @JonathanTaylor63  8 месяцев назад +1

Cast and create flexion, then release flexion.

Thanks, will try on the range after the monsoon here in LA subsides! Courses should be soaked for a week! I actually asked my pro about this when I started, nobody has yet been able to explain this motion to me, so hopefully you have done so.@@JonathanTaylor63

For me if youve maintained arm structure and are using ground pressure you will feel a pull on the club in transition if you havent you may have to consciously pull the club down but not for me

Great tuition but you won't be popular with your fellow professionals. Don't release from the top and don't keep your head still until the ball has gone are the two fundamental pieces of advice given by golf teachers in order to generate their future revenue. If you don't do these two things they know you'll need to watch many more of their videos, none of which will help.

I'm a musician (Jazz sax, piano, guitar, mainly sax). It's too busy. It's jarring, even if just eight notes. AI generated, no doubt. Remember, AI will kill ALL music jobs, writing jobs, and yes, golf teaching jobs, and soon. There is already an AI music teacher app and AI is coming for our jobs left and right. NO ONE is safe! I predict an AI golf teacher here on YT, within weeks.

The Music comes as part of a paid subscription to Artlist and is not AI. The Artists are DaniHaDani Secret No.2 & Buzo Timeless. As a creator I am always trying to find ways of making my content more appealing to a larger market and I thought the music might help. I am also aware that musicians have to eat which is why I pay to a subscription service, but if you believe that the music detracts from the video I will reconsider the choice in the next one.
