That is crazy! shouldn't the Feds be all over this??
Chinese Company bro, what are they gonna do? Better inspections at customs is about it, but I'm sure they're overwhelmed all the time so small single coins probably fly by them unnoticed all the time.
Yeah... I WISH!!!!!!!
The secret service is sleeping at the wheel for about 15 years now, the crap is all over the place, and if they don't do anything about it is only going to get worse
Yeah, . . . .right! like Bejing Biden is going to do something about this. Don't hold your breath. Just STAY OFF Wish.
just check alibaba site, fakes are well made, much more difficult to see with naked eye, in the future it will be so difficult to trust someone, with all the fakes circulating ...
"Oh look, a Maple Leaf Gold coin for $9 bucks"...lolololol
😂😂
Don't forget about the U in United.
Aye Good Catch!
Yes....u.....right...
..
These will circulate through "the system" and people will be taken advantage of. Infuriating! Thank you for making this video.
This was important to post for obvious reasons - thanks kindly for sharing your learning experience instead of being too embarrassed to let others see that you are human , and like all of the rest of us humans , we all make mistakes. Being willing to help others avoid the same mistake speaks well of you and your character...thanks again.
Obviously you didn't even understand the video. He knew it was fake when he bought it.
If they are that cheap, it might not be a bad idea to buy several, and keep them in a common hiding place. If someone breaks into your house and finds them, they may split before checking elsewhere and finding your good stash. I keep some junk silver and a Canadian Loonie that I polished to a mirror finish and then lacquered heavily. Looks just like gold. I keep them in my jewelry box. My expensive jewelry is in the safe, along with my real silver. Just an idea...
" They" might find them and think that there are more and torture you untill you spill the beans.
There are some people here who use a blowtorch, on feet. They take your phone and ask you who is who.
You must answer correctly LOL.
Its always best to keep people like that out. Convince them that somewhere else would be easier.
@@allanlarmour7460 In that case, it doesn't matter what you say, you're going to die anyway. Those cases are rare, however. The average home break in is over in less than two minutes, unless they are looking for something specific. Leave them in an "obvious" location, like a dresser drawer. Same goes for cheap jewelry. Always keep the good stuff hidden.
@@D.A.Hanks14 Never allow anyone to restrain your hands. No mater what. It's not as rare as you might think. I have some coins. I like sovereign coins and I also collect silver coins. Iam not really a "stacker", more of a collector.
Security is a real concern but I do have a very large dog and between us, well, we'd be difficult to manage.
I would say the random break in isn't too much to worry about as random means they are breaking in because opportunity has allowed them too.
The non random intruders coming with knowledge are the real problem. On the up side they would know about the dog. If they are still coming and they know about the dog, you must be sitting on a fortune and told the wrong people.
A crew like that is not coming on a random chance you're worth robbing.
A friend of mine was woken by his wife who had been woken by some guy unplugging her phone charger from the wall, they stole her charger!
Scary stuff. They had filled his car with the stuff from the house and stole the car as well. He was lucky he didn't manage to catch up with them as he leapt out of bed and ran down the stairs bollock naked only to slide on the broken glass and land on his bare ass.
I told him, it would be better had they not be able to get in.
Loose lips sink ships
@@allanlarmour7460 Good words!
My pile of shiny fake stuff I call the “thief box.” I leave it in an obvious place, like under the bed.
I`ve never look up anything on Wish. Thanks for letting everyone know to be careful. I hope they shut down those sites.
The frequency test is so sound, I tapped my ASE and the sound is so distinct and sounded exactly like the video it’s so crazy
That app is really neat! Definitely makes me want to go download and test everything this weekend. I've considered buying the "Wish Morgans" for some crafts that I do. Just got to make sure that don't go anywhere near our real ones. Thanks for sharing!
Yes if you get them make SURE you don't mix them up. It's illegal to use them for fraudulent purposes.
Thank you for the video! I subbed. Keep up the good work. Much praise from Europe!
Good training video Seeker! They have gone up in price! I remember when they were a dollar! I saw an ad the other day for a silver eagle for 16.98! I almost fell for that one because they showed pictures of real silver eagles! I read the fine print! Eagle replica! They don't call them fakes anymore! Now they are called replica coins!
If it's too good to be true, watch out. Thanks for sharing. I always thought wish was really cheap.
There's a reason :)
Thanks for the info and bullion test!
Had me scared for a minute so I tested an entire monster box and 😅 I'm safe😂. Great info, keep educating us and always buy from a reputable dealer!👍👍👍
LOL Glad yours are fine! Yes, reputable dealers whenever possible, and if not make sure you are covered either through your bank, eBay or whatever!
Awesome info video to show my 6 year old grandson just getting started in coin collecting thanks alot for the info
As always sir you got the best information and you look out for us thank you
Thanks!
Been seeing a bunch of this on my FB ads - full sets of mint condition Morgans for like $100. Makes me sick.
Chyna makes the fakes
Thanks for this video, it's great to follow your videos
Awesome video, thanks for the great info!
Thanks for the great content seeker.
Wow ! The ping test would have tricked me for sure, I expected a Thud.... not such a pronounced long ping. .... excellent video !
Thank you!
Thanks for putting this info out here for us
Thanks for watching bud!
I seen these on Walmart's website and almost ordered 10 of them just to day. They where listed for $7.00, and with silver at $23 I thought I was in heaven.. Thanks for placing this video.
NP glad you didn't place the order!
Silver is not going to be online cheaper than going rate.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks for education I always wondered from ordering from wish never did cause prices were to good and saying goes if it’s to good to be true it maybe isn’t
#correct
Thank you so much for this information.
Great video, Seeker! Your educational videos are always appreciated!! John and I love them.
Ben was going through his PM and coin collection box the other day for the first time in a long time! I'm hoping he gets back into it. He lost interest for a little bit. He's working on filling his Penny book now. :-) Oh and he pulled out a Little Seeker drawing that he won from one of your streams. lol Hope you and the Seeker family are doing well! ~Sam
Thanks for watching and it's always good hearing from you! I'm glad he's getting back into it!
Little Seeker hasn't done those drawings in a while, but I still have the drawing that you gets sent me of the Fortnite Gun! Tell them I said thank you!
--Seeker
Silver Seeker I forgot about that Fortnite drawing. lol
Great video SS...thanks!
Thanks TB!
You forgot the U in United States on the back of the coin. The older ones has a a standard circular bottom but the new ones have the line on the U.
Thanks for the info!!!
Thanks for watching!
Awsome episode mate.. 👌 I keep the goods comming. ☺️
Thanks Bud!
Great video. Thank you!
Great video, good simple tips on how to not get scammed!
Thanks for sharing!
ALSO DIFFERENT ON THE REVERSE IS THE PRE-2008 "U", THE ~ IS THE OLD ONE AND THE "A'S" ARE CROSSED DIFFERENT ON THE 2008 - 2020'S. THE DATE DOES STICK OUT MORE THAN THE OTHER DIFFERENCES.
Thank you 🙏 do you think the coin show tomorrow in Mustang will be good to go to?
I don't know I've never been to that coin show.
Thank you. First time silver buyer. I feel prepared now.
Good video. Thanks!
It looks like aluminum plated lead straight out of the package
About 15 minutes ago I finished cancelling my second order of a 2005 American Eagle Silver Dollar because I’d gotten through the funny looking numbers in the first part of your video. I’d paid $32.00 for the first one and $42.00 for the second. One was an “auction bid” that I figured I’d lose because I bid low and the other was a “buy now” sale. I got the auction bid because the seller cancelled the auction and gave me the coin for my bid. So, I had two purchases and after going back and forth from your video and the pictures of my coins on eBay, I saw how elegantly simple the “2” is on your legitimate silver dollar and was able to discern that both of the coins I’d purchased were very different from yours. One
“2” was FAT and the other “2” was narrow but the top half of the number was wider than the bottom half - the number had an odd proportion. Thankfully I was able to cancel both purchases before they produced a shipping label. Thank you for saving me that money! What’s especially fortuitous is that I’d gotten onto RUclips to research “How to Make a Silver Dollar Fob Case”. I wanted to embroider a cover/case for it and would’ve used some of my silver jewelry to make the chain the case (with silver dollar inside). The fob would’ve held a pair of embroidery scissors. My daughter and I enjoy embroidering together at night. I didn’t even consider researching fakes! As I was searching for a video, I saw Yours on the right side and thought, “Huh….what’s that about? There are fake Silver Dollars?”. Thank you many times over!
I want to purchase a 2005 American Eagle silver dollar for my daughter’s 17th birthday. Around how much (generally speaking) should I expect to pay for an average or lower average one?
I may not be able to purchase one iffin it’s going to be super expensive. And my fob idea…. Welp, if the silver dollar is expensive and I can afford it - I’m NOT putting it in a custom made fob. No whay!
Thank you much for this video!
Great video...thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching!
Scratch it to look for underlying metal wether it’s brass or whatever. No reason for this but would be somewhat interesting
I had to run and grab all my silver Eagles and test them right along with you… Luckily mine are good.
Hey Seeker have you seen the M2 Bullion tester that is being released this month by The Safe House? It costs $150 plus shipping and I was thinking of buying it but am scared that it might not work, can you buy one and do a video on it so we all can see it.
I'll look into it but $150 is alot if I'm not sure lol! I'll see what I can do tho. :)
RUclips probably has it on there, anything you want to look at it is on RUclips if you want to see the reviews
Thanks for showing this. I would hate for someone who is buying their first silver to get fooled.
Smashed the like button my friend!
Thanks!
i,m surprised the FEDS are not going after these people selling these. should be stamped COPY!
Hard to do when they're all in China
Great info thanks
Thanks for watching!
Silver seeker thank u for the nice work great knowledge ,I'm a beginner thank you.
Great video, good information. But, I am curious if a counterfeit Silver Eagle is actually a federal crime since the Silver Eagle is federal currency. And, if you buy one, could you be held guilty of trafficking in counterfeit US currency? Or maybe that only happens if you try to spend the coin as money at a store? Seems like there is a risk here, vs buying generic rounds. Your thoughts?
Thanks for the educational video. I like that app. Gonna get it.
Awesome! Link in the description if you want to see a better video about it!
I noticed that the fake was also missing some leaves on the branch. Is it possible for the real one to be missing it?
what is the difference between the SILVER EAGLE coins of the USMINT and GOV MINT or AMPEX, OR OTHER COIN DISTRIBUTOR HOUSES ..?
The American Eagle coins, in silver, gold, platinum, or palladium, are made by the US Mint. You can buy the *numismatic grade coins* directly from the US Mint, and be safe in knowing they're authentic. The other folks on your list are resellers, who may buy the *bullion versions* in volume, as well as the *numismatic grade coins*; they sell the coins at a profit, so you're losing a big chunk of change when you buy from these resellers; people only should buy from reputable resellers to ensure they don't end up with a fake, but that comes with a premium. If you want to minimize the premium and get a coin that's closer to intrinsic value (metal spot price), then buy the bullion from authorized resellers (APBB), as the US Mint only sells bullion coins through resellers; it relies on their distribution channels for selling millions of these coins. If you're into the numismatic grade coins (proof, reverse proof, uncirculated) and willing to pay the higher premium for a beautiful and spotless coin, then get the coins that the US Mint sells directly to the public; you can get the same coins from the same resellers, but they add their premiums on top of the Mint's. Many even have the coins graded by professional authorities that authenticate and register the quality of the coins, and this adds more to the price of the offerings. (See PCGS, NGC, ICG for their services.)
As an example, say you want to buy a troy ounce of the rare precious metal called palladium (atomic symbol Pd). You can go to the US Mint site and buy item 19EK or 20EK for $3300 today. The Mint locked in its weekly spot price of 1 ozt of Pd by taking the spot value (currency symbol XPD) and set its internal price at the highest multiple of $50 that doesn't exceed that spot XPD: XPD' = trunc(XPD/$50)*$50. Then it adds a $700 premium. Thus, if XPD was at $2648.69 at the time the Mint revises its weekly pricing, it sets XPD' to $2600, and sells those coins at $3300. A week ago, the Mint was selling those same coins for $3050 because its XPD' was previously set at $2350; during that week, XPD spiked up to $2754, and fluctuated between $2600 and $2700, but the coins were still fixed at $3050. I bought 2, hoping Pd will stay up and possibly climb higher!
As it stands now, the Mint revised the selling price of those coins to $3300 with its XPD' set at $2600, yet I paid $3050 for mine; thus, I've gained $250 on its numismatic value, but that doesn't overcome the premium of $700. The intrinsic value (if I sell the coin for its melt value) is still spot price, and I can only hope XPD stays up or the numismatic value tracks with the Mint's prices. A while ago, my friend bought an earlier issue, 18EK, for about $1700. Its numismatic value is over $3600 because it's a coveted coin graded in PF70 UC condition, and its intrinsic value has followed XPD's climb; that is, his paper gain is $900 intrinsic (if recycled), and $1900 numismatic (if sold to coin collector).
The face value, the denomination of the legal tender coin, is still $25.
Hey, the sound test was neat.
Under federal law, counterfeiting is a class C felony, punishable by up to 12 years in prison and/or a fine of as much as $250,000. State laws also establish penalties for counterfeiting. Report them if they are in States!
It was a Chinese Company hence how long it took to get here lol
What’s a good app to get for the IPhone. I can’t seem to find one that does that cool harmonic test... Any ideas??
Sadly I don't know bud, I've never owned an iPhone.
Maybe stamp an F on it so the worry warts don't have to worry. Good video, thanks for posting.
If you look at the U on the back where it says united it's also off
Good Catch!
Hello, I was hoping you could help me possibly. I was planning on maybe getting into some silver and gold purchases and during my research I learned of the rather large problem with fake metals being placed inside gold and silver products . However I also learned that there is a device called a sigma metalitics precious metals verifier the will test metals authenticity based on resistivity. Well knowing that the multimeter tool from the store costs like 40 bucks and measures resistivity ohms and all that stuff and that this gold tester costs over $2,500 dollars... and knowing that each metal has its own resistivity number.... I've been pondering that there must be a way for the multimeter to take a reading and then a formula or formulas to be applied to the reading such as the width or volume divided by the length just as an example, that would come out to that metals specific resistivity number thereby authenticating the metal or inauthenticating it if it comes to another metals number. That must be what the expensive machine is doing.... Making it the worlds most expensive calculator.... Well I know from your videos that you like to run tests and stuff and you are very knowledgeable and know people..... so I thought maybe you may know the answer or could find out but I was not sure. I am writing you this on an older video and not associated with the sigma so that, should you wish, you can reply to me without a great deal of others involvement . I greatly appreciate any assistance you could provide.....
The reverse has the hyphen between silver and one from the old design 😂
I was worried when I went to watch this, now I feel better.
Thanks for the education!
Thanks for Watching!
thanks for the heads up
thank you for information. installed & have done payment for "bullion test". so how do i upgrade my "bullion test"? after payment done nothing changed. any idea?
Umm no idea there I didn't write the app :(
I just found a fake 2019 ASE that had similar attributes as your fake ASE. I notified the owner and they gave me the coin to destroy (it has been counter-stamped as fake and given to my 4 year old to play with).
thanks for the Info
Also, look at the stars to the left of Liberty's head. Completely different.
Thanks for the info Silver Seeker
Thanks for the Info Silver Seeker
Anytime good sir :)
Omg!!! I just started with your site. I only have a iPhone . My good friend and his son got me a new se iPhone. Is there a app for the iPhone . I would like to purchase coins that are stamped fake for my kids to have in their coin collection that I am starting for them. I got so screwed buying some Morgan Dollars that I don’t want them to feel the embracing and the shock of showing their coins to a coin dealer only to be told this coin is cleaned and or it’s fake. Being 71 yrs old is no excuse. I should of known better . I don’t want my kids to fall for greed and ego without having knowledge. If you can help, thank you very much . If not , no problem. I will stay subscribed to your site, information is key to success. Bob
Got my first fake yesterday and I just noticed something was wrong but didnt know what. Then I looked it up and yes its 100% fake, I even scratched the surface and the copper came through, first I was mad but then I appreciated the situation since I learned so much.
Even on the obverse the sun is off with the outlines of the clouds I guess they are near the date I hate these fakes give the hobby a bad name and scares off new collectors to the hobby wish there was more we could do that’s for the video seeker keep up the great work man god bless!!!
where is the link to the sound test website???
What is the app called for the iPhone? I can’t seem to find one....
Sadly I've never owned an iphone so I don't know... I just figured there had to be one.
Hello! I just came accross this video. I cannot find the link to the metals sound frequency testing app. Could you give me the app name or point me in the right direction? Thanks! : )
It's call "Bullion Test" on android. I think it's a completely different name on Apple but I'm not sure what that is.
@@SilverSeeker if you find out the name of the app on the Apple App Store, please post here and let us know. I’m interested thanks.
The right side serif on the "U" in "United" is missing on the fake and the number "1" in the "1 oz." is way different in the fake piece.
I wonder if it will work for bars since it's looking for the sound of silver? Or if the size of the coin makes a difference.🤔
The App? Yes, it all makes a difference... bars would not pass the test for rounds at all
@@SilverSeeker yea that's what I was wondering. If the sound would register the same.
And pay attention on the u letter on the reverse side in the word united :)
No tail on the U in United...and oval in the middle of the O's in stead of circles
I got one in a box of trades.. beautiful..proof.. mirror finish..just attraced to a magnet
Wish you did an inductance test for conductivity.
My lcs found one, had it hanging on the bulletin board in his shop!
Thanks for the education. I am just starting to buy coins to leave my grandchildren being i am terminally ill i just can't afford to lose any money at all this helps but i wouldn't ever buy from anyone or company i don't trust and besides that i want to make sure they have more to lose than i do if they screwed me.
Spend your money seeing family instead.
Yup...right when you pulled it out of that package...I just saw...fake! I have a few not looking shining types of fake coins...
The ones I bought from Wish could be picked up with a magnet placed in the center of coin their 2021s
I tried to search for the app on iPhone, but it is not there.
I'm sorry :( I've never owned an iPhone but I've been told there is a similar app for the iPhone.
I just bought 7 from a sight named yooraa I'm not sure what's what. They were on the lower side but still priced to where it wasn't a to good to be true thing. Say 23$ each. Idk
You missed one of the biggest tells. On the reverse the “U” in United is the wrong font for a 2020. The last year they used the U font (seen on the fake) was 2007.
*nods* Yea I realized that a bit too late, but there are already so many other tell tale signs LOL, this is a really bad fake.
The Sigma will test those as real silver if they are copper cores. I just did a video on a few fake trade dollars that tested good on the verifier so it is important that you do additional tests as well.
GD
For sure! I mentioned the sigma in the video but alot of people don't have it so I tried to avoid it.
Use a scale and calipers. Also, do a specific density test.
Look at the different font in the letter U in United States, they used the older font.
look at the "U" in united that font hasn't been used since 2007
When it's too good to be true, It's FAKE. lol Thanks Seeker for the information.
True that!
😂😂😂😂 great video 👍👊
Thanks Ty !
Being legal tender, isn’t this counterfeiting, shouldn’t the secret service be investigating, arresting and prosecuting, no matter where this is occurring?
In China is the problem
Did it have the piracy mark on the rigid edge? I believe thats what they call it.
What about using fakes as a decoys so that a would-be-thief would steal the fakes and not the real ones?
Is there any truth in the u test?
Thanks again for sharing this with us Colorado Silverback777 Stay Healthy.
The color is almost identical to the original. It's really amazing.China.
These are all over Facebook right now. Of course, Facebook doesn't mind profiting from the ad revenue, no matter how many times you report the ads as scams.
I don't remember where I bought 20 Silver Eagles for $170.00 last summer, but yep, they are all fakes. I cancelled payment and got my money back, so far. I have to wait 45 days for a response from the seller. Wish, haha, me luck.
