This looks like fun. I wouldn't even begin to think for 1 minute that I could use it to defend myself but I would definitely use it to protect myself from a pie throwing competition.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I like any motion you that's trained constantly will become more and more effective being a smaller guy I have to get in really close I'd love to learn this
He fight lab batman used skills
Ése arte marcial se llama KFM , y justo dieguez fue quien se lo enseño a Andy, (por cierto un gran luchador) las cosas como son
Alot of similarities to 52 Blocks
Very interesting 👌
I see the similarities too
Also very much like escrima/kali
my husband does gracie jui jitsu karate and has done muay Thai in the past lots similar moves just trained and executed different
top notch defense system ..people criticize but until you have trained with andy norman you cant say shit...very effective
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Someone fight with this style
It's a great style and that's why it was used in the batman movie... Acting. Money making acting.
excellent to see open minded people training in another system looked really cool
Super nice. Es gibt ja auch das Computer Spiel und dass ist ziemlich ähnlich von der Kampftechnik. Der dreht sich manchmal noch so raus und schlägt dann mit dem Ellenbogen.
You know Batman’s not real, Right?
i can see a bigger person utilizing this for more devastating use
I don’t necessarily disagree it or portions of it are effective whether they are trained as a system or incorporated into another. To me- the issue is how cost prohibitive is it? Looks pretty glitzy and that typically means expensive. Like BJJ- expensive 😎
No that expensive
Fight like BATMAN & JACK REACHER is Keysi ideated by Justo Dieguez. Why do not mention it?
Dont know if anyone noticed this but the main instructor guy looks like uncle Benjen.
Would be awesome to try but I feel more comfortable grappling cause of my judo and jujitsu training
All these people just dismissing keysi and defense labs
I mean all styles started out as trial and error
Its upto the practitioners to update the style till its perfect for you
So basically this is an evolution of KFM? Because Norman left KFM to pursue this.
my question exactly
From what I understand, Norman had some differences of opinion with Dieguez. Norman had some ideas for improvement that he wanted integrated into KFM. Defence Lab is KFM with those integrations.
But I have not delved too deeply into the topic. My stepson and I are deciding if we want to do some martial arts together and have been looking at the various systems and martial arts. So I did a little cursory research on it to see if it might fit for us.
Song name pleace?
What happens if someone has a bottle??
Or worse a knife.
personally i have a fair amount of knowledge on knide defence. i think the guard in DL and its blocking system are still fundamentally broken when it comes to this type of attack, just like its predecessor keysi, to me they look as though they are derived from western boxing and only really suitable for blocking fists. its clear to me that some good knowledge is there, such as where the guard only exposes the outside of the arms, this is indicative of accepting that your highly likely to get cut in a knife attack no matter if your a novice, bruce lee, or freakin' goku. the problem lies in that the blocks are too tight, this is why traditional styles use the extended blocks. if some stabs with a 6 inch knife and my block is no more than six inches from any part of my body that blade will reach through and stab me, if a extend the block out to about 1 and a half feet the tip of the blade comes no where near you.
+Kampfkunststudio CORE i dont see how these methods will help against weapons. if you have two systems/strategies for two differnet situations then its would be because the hand to hand system is fundamentally broken as a self-defence system (reasoning in my previous comment). You should have developed DL on the basis of defence from a knife and other melee weapons, anything that effective against a knife attack also stops unarmed attackers but not the other way around.
+Jonathan Martin Concealed Carry..hence the phrase "Don't bring a knife to a gun fight"
Tanner O'neal you've missed my point. What has that got to do with style foundation? when I started learning my style I was immediately taught cross functional techniques and explained why you do something that is unnecessary against unarmed opponents, it was because it means the difference between life and death once they come at you with a weapon.
I later soon had the opportunity to put it the test, some other lads thought they would attack my little brother and when I stood up for him one of them came at with a bat. I used this basic skill and remained unharmed, I then threw the guy and disarmed him.
I recognize your point, but at the same time what system has every answer? None do really. Mix and match what best suits your body type and desires. Still think everyone should be armed with a sidearm though.
jajajajajaja, this make me Lough.
isn't this like keysi fighting method "kfm"????
Adrian Rosario Same thing Defense Lab is just the evolution.
After the split up of keysi, one of the founders of Keysi formed defence lab. It is a variant of Keysi, not Keysi proper. Like justafighter said, it is the evolution of keysi.
Gone get knocked out
body shots
Yes, the body shots are good in a fight with ring or cage rithm, where you have time to think your strategy to fool your opponent, but in a blitzing fight is different, always is the same pattern, every attacker goes to the head or face, and with the body shots the grab come first
Mejor vayan por el Krav maga
never trained it so I can't comment but I have been in many street fights and cage fights and I will not head butt, causes as much or more damage to you than your opponent. Just watch an early UFC, when head butts were legal. You'll see how headbutts are more dangerous and harmful to the person doing them. Also, the way I see them crossing their arms, they are pinning them, themselves. A skilled or even luck opponent, at the right time, could take advantage of that. Some kind of "Dracula guard" may cover the head and may work but be careful crossing and pinning your own arms down.
The crossed arms have a reason. This is a self-defense system, not something you would step into the octagon with. Keysi, and by extension DL, were designed to protect yourself against multiple attackers. The crossed arms protect the knockout points from blindside blows as best as possible.
It was not designed for competitive fighting, nor solo fighting(though you can do this). It's a "fight until you can escape" philosophy. If you pick a fight with a stranger, you get what you get. If it happens to be an experienced MMA fighter that's just bad luck on top of stupidity.
I wondered the same thing about the head butts. Won't this hurt you also? I haven't studied the program, but the head butts do seem a bit out of place.
But I'm not a practicioner of any of the martial arts yet, I just looked into this one a little.
Golden globe fighting system. It's good for acting just like it was chosen for Batman, but in the real world, wake up. This is nothing more than a good looking business plan the sells franchise and tshirts
52 block styles pool it up very similar
This is not Keysi? 😂
It’s basically the same, The founders split up so is keysi and this
Andy Norman founded Defence Lab after the split up of Keysi. This is a variant of Keysi, not Keysi proper.
Its not because in keysi they tend to focus more on standing position while in defence lab focuses in three positions, standing, sitting, laying all balance.
Bullshido es un mejor nombre
That are dangerous moves you can kill someone with that hammerfist in the neck, and better use palm strikes instead off punchingalso ,anywayno system is perfect for selfdefence but,its an interesting method thanks.
This is a self defence system meant to defend against multiple attackers. The entire intention of the hammer blows is to render an opponent disabled quickly, thereby reducing the number of opponents that must be dealt with. The whole system appears to revolve around fighting until you can escape. It is designed as a form of self defense. The point of the hammer blows, imo, is punching can damage the hands, which could put you at risk if you are being attacked. The hammer blow is effective, just as you mentioned (a punch can also seriously injure someone, btw), and it's safer for the practioner. The system also appears to use the elbows quite liberally.
If you look at any of their youtube videos, many of the techniques they're training are not for competitive fighting or sport. They are literally designed to disable someone quickly.
Changing the strikes to a less effective one would neuter the entire thing.
You're looking at a singular aspect of this system without considering it as a whole, it's philosophy, why it was created, and why the methodology is the way it is. Missed the forest for the tree.
@@tomdeweijer904 I haven't trained in this, I've only looked at some of the information. I was just giving a counter point to what you said.
I did click on the link you provided as this is a topic in interested in but the link appears to be dead.
If the link was mistyped, please correct. I'll definitely read it.
Have a great holiday season.
@@bartt6819 If these strikes could disable someone quickly then they WOULD be used in a sport fighting situation.
Fight like Batman and Jack Recher, so this teaches you pretend movie fighting then?
no the fighting style was in the movie NOT pretend
It was a movie, so they were pretending to fight, not actually fighting. That's why it's called acting.
This is a very effective style....get glasses.
A Muay Boran fighter will kill all this movie style
@@anthonyg6167 no it isn't. Leaving your ribs open like that just makes it an easier target for body shots. That's why boxers KEEP THEIR ELBOWS DOWN
They're just copying Keysi fighting method
It‘s not a copy. One of the two founder of Keysi Fighting Method (Andy Norman) is the founder of Defence Lab too😉
Overcomplicated nonsense. Ive never seen it pressure tested because it would fail.
It appears that it has been. From the little I've been able to find, it seems like some of UK's police are trained in it.
@@bartt6819 Not true. UK police like any police are trained in arrest and control tactics, not punching someone into submission. You won't find any evidence that it works. It's complete nonsense.
@@raptorrochester Language is precise. Well, mine is anyway. You're a bit more loose with the way you use your words, the sign of a weak mind. Absolutism destroys reason.
Look at the way I phrased that.
"It appears it has been."
"From the little I've been able to find."
These are huge qualifying statments which you completely overlook in your zeal to prove your verbal jiu jitsu on the internet.
This statement shows how silly your argument is:
"not punching someone into submission."
If that is what you think the style is about, perhaps you should get a bit more knowledge on it before you speak. And this is coming from someone who has only done minimal research on the topic. Actually, scratch that. Why don't you try that any time you speak.
It is a fighting SYSTEM. As such, it does not rely solely on strikes. The system uses locks and control methods extensively.
I made no truth claims. Each of those statements has caveats that each person should research for his or her self when making a decision.
While I made no claims to truth and was not absolute in my statements, you were.
How about you prove those claims.
@@bartt6819 blah,blah,blah...defense labs is utter BS. It has no submissions in it's curriculum. It's a striking based art, nothing more. It's certainly not something the police would be trained in.
@@raptorrochester blah blah blah. It has no submissions....blah blah blah. because it is a self defense system designed to be used against multiple attackers. It would pretty darn silly to be laying on the ground trying to put a submission hold on someone while his buddies are kicking the crap out of you.
But then, you're using language imprecisely again.
I never said a word about submissions. I said locks and control methods. You can't dispute that because it is true so you set up a submission strawman.
It's amazing that you can be so absolute in your opinion when it's very clear you are ignorant on the topic. And that's coming from someone who's literally looked at it only in the last two days.
😂😂😂😂what is this?
total BS.
Why are these videos always just hip-hop or end blasting over fast clips?
