    From experience, DO NOT TRUST THE VRO, pre-mix the gas. Best of luck.

    Really enjoyed your video it’s quite a fast album when it’s working I bet it would’ve been really good and today I couldn’t believe how fast it was going I live on the side of the river in the UK and I’ve had dozens of boats over the years they always give trouble put an engine in water and it’s always gonna give troubleThat’s boating for you you’re really spoiled in America with your great big likes nice slipway easy access not so good over here not where I am anyway keep the videos coming lads quite entertaining

    Ya'll got brass balls takin that pos out on the water with that wasted engine. U need to drop that lower unit and change the water pump and gear oil before it ever goes near the water again. It'd probly be cheaper to re-power it. I'm pretty sure that power head isnt rebuildable

    $200?!? Looks like you hit a home run with this!!! The Evinrude/Johnson V-4 is a good reliable motor when it's running 100%, the carbs might need to be rebuilt, checking the compression and all that good stuff but except for the stalling and I didn't see the cooling water coming out of the pee hole on the side. It sounded good when you hit it on the return, like you hit 5200rpm more or less. I've had a 115 Evinrude on my 17' cobia closed bow runabout and it ran 46-48 mph at 5800rpm that's why I guesstimated what it sounded like to my ears remembering mine when you hit the throttle. The hull sounded solid when you went through your own wake. A little work on the motor and you'll have a nice little boat to buzz around in, worth more, much more than $200, best of luck to you.

      Maybe you didn't watch the entire video. They destroyed the engine by, apparantly, plugging the water pump and overheating it. Either that or the water pump impeller was already bad. Either way, the driver should have been watching the water flow. This was operator error.

      You will need a new rectifier if ur not geting charge", i had the same issue search that part up.check ur timing is at 28' degrees when at full rpm with a timing light and when at Idle it should be at 10'to12' degrees

    • @herbb8547
      @herbb8547 Год назад +1

      Maybe you missed it, but they toasted one of the cylinders by overheating it. That engine needs to be completely rebuilt. Might as well just sell it for parts as it isn't worth the cost of a rebuild.

      The weak battery shows it may not be charging when running. Try replacing the rectifier/regulator first. You can get them cheap on Amazon.

      Yup it was just under half full oil injection seemed to work fine. ran some premix in fuel tank to be safe as well.

  • @herbb8547
    @herbb8547 Год назад

    I would have just hooked up water hose muffs and worked on it in my driveway before getting to the landing. Run Seafoam through that engine and premix oil like others have said. Guess your driver doesn't know what a tilt and trim is. Must have plugged the water pump by not raising motor up in shallow water. Then motor over heated and is toast. Get a better driver next time. You need to watch the water flow to make sure the water pump is running.
