Morbius is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel. Distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, it is intended to be the second film in the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. The film is directed by Daniel Espinosa from a script by the writing teams of Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, and Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, and stars Jared Leto as Michael Morbius alongside Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson.

My best friend would have loved this. Dr. Michael Morbius was one of his favorite comic book hero/anti heroes, second only to Johnny Blaze's Ghost Rider. Sadly, he passed away just over a year ago. R.I.P. Torrey. I'll watch it and drink to you.

I saw this movie today, I was a little started when he showed his vampiric face, but I was also excited and filled with chills when he got to killing and full beast mode. I gotta say Jared Leto totally suits as Michael Morbius for this movie way better as the Joker.

I first learned of Morbius when Spiderman had 6 arms. Amazing Spiderman #101! That was weird, but that's when I first saw him and loved the character! It was something very tragic about him. He really didn't strike me as truly evil. Just stuck! I mean, what would you or I do? Try to survive I suppose! The movie is following that same storyline basically. Even though he cures himself of one affliction, he infects himself with another. Which is worse? Remains to be seen I'm afraid.

I'm hear jumping up and down in my seat. The last I remember being excited about seeing a vampire film, was when Van Helsing came out. (The Werewolf design in the movie was amazing as well.). But that was a time ago. The movie looks really good. Definitely going to watch this when it releases.

I think him suddenly able to move that fast and strong is stupid. Your body wouldn’t restructure fast enough to strengthen muscles or move that quickly. His bullet dodge would have snapped his bones. @@NoComment222 Thats easy, Infinity stones are each representing a pure essence. Each stone is effectively the source or embodiment of that essence which is represented in each living thing. Because have all stones you are the source of everything thus your will is everything for one time. If your Thanos who can snap twice then two times. They come at a cost to use as a mortal.
Morbius still has not finished transforming. He was a weak little man on a table to steroid buff in seconds. The writing needed to graduate into that change not just oh and changed. Morbius is still needing to finish physically changing. The inifinity stones are well explained in the writing. No body even with super serum unless it had tons of needed resources can just boom be special. A fault on Captain America in that case. Granted he was healthy and a machine was needed atomize serum which sort of would be quicker.
@@1014p I think he might have been transforming already, but instead of getting stronger it seems to me he was getting weaker. He looks very cadaveric in the beginning of the scene, look at those apparent veins. Maybe it was kinda like he was "dying" while his body was adapting and after his "death" he comes back changed. Many vampires stories do like that. If I remember correctly, in Anne Rice's vampiric chronicles and in Vampire the Masquerade RPG, when a mortal becomes a vampire, they change into their peak form while mortal even though they get stronger with the years. Look at Claudia from Interview with the Vampire. When she changes, even her hair changes almost instantly. But it's just a guess though.
I used to watch the spiderman cartoons when I was a kid, I always found Morbius one of the more interesting villains because he didn't become a villain for power or money, he had good intentions but they had unexpected results.
I just despise the fact that this will become part of the MCU. I despise the MCU & their wokeness. Everything woke touches GOES TO SHIT! EXAMPLE, that shitty excuse of a spiderman movie with Holland in it. It's just good awful garbage.

There is No Doubt that it will just be more Typical Hollyweird Bull$hit Camera "work" , with the Bull$hit Quick Cuts, and the Bull$hit Shakey Cam, as well as the usual Bull$hit Scene so Dark that one can not see clearly what is going on, as in masking the obvious Lack of Detail by the over use of sillouette, followed with quick Blindingly Bright flashes damaging whatever part of the retna that is not already burnt out from the outrageously Bright Headlights in cars and trucks that assault the eyes when driving at night, leading to Night Blindness at Early Ages !

This is why No One cares for todays movies.
Up until the 1970's, and even into the 1980's, movies had good plots, but, they also had Great Acting and Great Direction.
The Camera "work" was still decent, but the Decay and Rot in the Camera and Editing Departments, was in Full Swing, along with the reliance on Special Effects and Explosions, which by that Time, had really damaged the Movie Making Industry.
By the 1990's, all of the Good Things about movies, was gone.
It was Rare to find a Good Movie that had Good Acting, Good Directing, Good Story Line, and decent Camera "work", but then the 2000's came along, and it all just deteriorated even further, Clearly Demonstrating the Decline in the industry to what we have today.
As of 2019, the industry, as is Par For Their Course, made the Completely Disastrous decision to Force unnecessarily infused "diversity" into the mix, IF producers wanted to be in the Running for one of their Mutual Admiration Society Awards (M.A.S.A.), which No One even Watches or even Cares about anymore, as Evidenced by the Drastically Dropped Ratings over the past 20 plus Years.
Since the Hollywood Taskmasters must Serve their M.A.S.A., there is little "Hope" that this "film" will be any different, as this clip Clearly Demonstrates !

Don't Go To The Show !
Can't wait for it to come out!!! Now I'm a werewolf guy but I do admit Morbius the living vampire is pretty badass. And definitely an iconic character in the marvel universe. I think compared to the venom films this one just might be a bit more dark due to the origins and the animalistic, vampiric nature of this character.
who knows one day they'll even create a Howling Commandos movie

And I hope they keep Mike Ploogs design and not turn him into Wiley Coyote. Ploogs design is what sold the books! They have the tech to do it now! This character could turn out soooo well if they handle it right! They should get Rick Baker to do it if he's willing! Impressed with the way Sony approached Morbius! He's scary! Best Vampire effects I've seen onscreen!

@@danielsmith9130 yes he did. Had something to do with a moonstone or a ruby like stone imbedded in his neck that he found on the moon that was connected to the transformation. The moon influences the stone and triggers the change.

I'm cautiously optimistic at this point. I'll wait and see if some of my go-to reviewers pick it up, but so far it does look promising. On a side note, plus for having the cannon fodder realize they're outmatched and GTFO, instead of standing around emptying their guns into thin air and end up getting slaughtered. Of course they end up dead anyway, but they were still portrayed as having enough common sense to realize they were in _way_ over their heads and ran away.

I really enjoyed this movie and thought it was great. Not sure why it got so much hate, I am assuming it was just because people hated Leto and that was it. I thought he did a great job and look forward to Morbius in future movies.

I was looking for this movie for a very long time and now that I finally saw it i can see it didn't disappoint me and jared leto was amazing in that role
I remember the old Spider-Man cartoon when Morbius would always say “ I need your Plasma” instead of saying “ I need your blood” he also would not bite his victim but used like suckers on his hands to do it. I guess they did all of that as to not scare the crap out of kids back then. Nowadays you can’t even spook a kid with decapitations or spine removal because they see it in video games from infancy.

This is the most unsettling vampire face i’ve ever seen. I used to think that the old vampire from Dracula Untold (the one living inside a cave) was the most unsettling for me, until Morbius.
