    Sir, you have my utmost respect for having the will to record this operation for helping others. Having done it myself, your effort is commendable. People can't imagine the pain that is to access and disassemble this. Thank you.

    I'm not a mechanic by any means but with your really detailed video i managed to change this part. Took me three and a half hours, I gained just one minor cut on the hand (my tiny woman hands helped a lot here), thanks to you nothing broke off aaaaand: the fan is working again!!!👍 This video saved me 150€ 🙂 great Job and thank you from Germany 👍

    For someone who is doing this job, you might want to remove the three bolts keeping the brake booster in place from engine room side and then push the fork leading to the brake booster forward from inside, or pull the brake booster forward from engine room side. This gives you more room when trying to take the blower motor out. Don't forget to put the bolts back. Thank you for the video.

    Thanks your video helped at least I knew what I was getting in to. Here is how I did it.
    1. removed drivers seat completely out of the car. Just 4 screws, 1 connector and set belt. You can lie down in the car comfortably.
    2. removed pedals as you did, but left everything else in place.
    3. replaced FAN, got out quite easily. Used the connector hole for the brake stick that is in the way. Simultaneously slowly rotating it.
    4. placed everything back. Time spent 2 hours.
    One more tip as first remove the brake cable connector and remove also the brake switch by rotating it 90 degrees. Don't push that switch !!!

      Oops! Guess I might have pressed the brake switch (white-colored). My rear break lights and now constantly on, when the car is turned on. Any ideas what else would be causing that?

    • @BenjaminGoose
      @BenjaminGoose 6 месяцев назад +1

      If you push the switch, you'll need to take it out again and tug hard on it (it's on a ratchet system), and place it back carefully. The deepest the switch is depressed determines where the "unpressed pedal" position is, so if you press that button in accidentally you'll mess it up and need to pull it out again.

    Thank you very much for this video, it helped me replace the blower and resistor unit. Had a minor issue with the break lights after since I accidentally pressed the switch in, but then I read that you can just tug on the switch to pull it out a bit, and then reinsert it into the pedal, and that fixes the problem.

    Nice and very useful video ! Dismounting the air blower in a Megane II turns out to be a torture ! The toughest part consists in making enough room for the fan to slide out by removing the pedals for instance. According to the vehicle technical guide, you can make additional space by remove the vertical metallic plate that stands on the side of central console. Removing it is an extra effort since one (out of 4) screw is almost impossible to reach and remove. Big disappointment, once removed the blower works quite well. Nothing wrong with the fuse neither. No clue about what can be wrong. Awaiting an endoscope to have a closer look inside the blower and heat radiator...

    • @m0rgg
      @m0rgg 4 года назад

      Did you try changing the resistance module? They tend to fail often

    • @82thamonk
      @82thamonk Год назад

      Went through the ordeal and everything was fine, the resistor, blower and fuse. Turns out, the blower speed 'knob/dial' seems to be disconnected somehow. Now, if I wiggle it abit or push it abit inwards and to the right, then release it, the blower stays working. All 4 speeds are fine when it's running. Have to figure out how to get to the connectors behind the dial for inspection. Really need the heat in this winter -10 degrees.

    Thank you for the video tutorial. I followed these steps and managed to fix my cabin fan. Did you had any problems with the brake pad sensor? When I assembled everything back, the pad was far from the pedal and the lights were always on.

      hi there, thanks! No, I havent had any issues with brakes or pedal sensor, but I think it is possible to fit it incorrectly, is the pedals housing squarish upper part installed as it was before, if the brake pedal does not seems as it should be I would probably just take a part all housing and try to fit it again until I got it in the position as it was, better safe than sorry

    If you have your brake lights on permanently after this it's because you pressed the brake button in. It's on a ratchet system so you'll need to pull the button back out somewhat (takes quite some force), depress the pedal, and then put the connector back in, and release the pedal allowing it to depress the button just enough.

    This is for a LHD car, it’s much easier to work on the RHD car. I removed the glove box and a plastic trim in foot well, and a the plastic air duct. If you push and twist the blower the sloe thing will come loose and you can wiggle it out !

    How long it would take a professional to change that part plus a resistant for that car ? repairshop said it takes 3 hours for my car

    • @JUrtanschannel
      @JUrtanschannel  5 лет назад +1

      well it depends, if by resistant u mean heating resistor relay unit,( it should be mounted on top of the fan), then it wont take too much extra time to replace and I would say around 1,5-3h total is ok, ofc if you do it by your self and and do it e.g. second time and u know what to do, I think you can easy do it in less than 3h, if you want to do it quick and you are well motivated :) If by resistant u mean heating resistor unit, then it ll take some extra time (also depending of what RIGHT or LEFT hand drive car u got), but any way if you replace it together with blower, it will take u 2-3h.
      These are just my wild estimates, bcos with this Renault model most of the work will take some extra time, since parts that you usually want to replace, are hidden behind a lot of other parts you have to take a part to get that one part out and then you have to put everything back again :D

    • @JUrtanschannel
      @JUrtanschannel  6 лет назад

      Not easy thing to do, i dont remember exacly how, but I remeber using a bit force + I remember that i also tried to put it back by taking a part fan(just removed the cpart that is cliped on), and then putting it back together when it is over the hardest part. Not sure if i just forced it in while it was one piece or forced it in while it was in two parts

    • @soring5880

    • @JUrtanschannel
      @JUrtanschannel  6 лет назад

      @@soring5880 true and for sure I would not like to do this again :D but any way when i tried to fix fan, I was thinking that it is hard to get it out and get it back in, but recently I had to replace clutch cylinder, cmon, I had to took half car a part just to take out gearbox... +air bleeding from the system was a lot different than I hoped it is going to be..

    • @JUrtanschannel
      @JUrtanschannel  6 лет назад +1

      well, it is not easy task! If you cant get it out as Houdini, I ll understand you, since it takes some nerve and luck to pull it out. In my case, to pull it out more easy, after i disconnected the electricity and took the vent out of it's socket, I removed the plastic top of the vent while it was in mid of the way out, so I could more easily rotate it and pull it.

    Hi friend, you had to remove any screw in the fan it self before remove it? I think you didn´t !!

    • @JUrtanschannel
      @JUrtanschannel  6 лет назад

      As I remember, no, only electric connector, it is kind a screwed in the ventilation body by itself, but you have to unscrew it by hand and it is not very hard to do that. But to get to the vent you will need to remove other components which are screwed in places.

      if you replace it with a new part it does not matter :) most important is that everyone can fix their own car and it is actually great process to learn and sometimes you can even save up some money and be sure that you have done work good and nothing will break after a week and if something does, second time work will take 3 times less time :)
