dude Kyle. I gotta give you major props, you do the best job of reviewing cars on RUclips. No one else does quite as good as you, they don't go as in depth with the cars as you. i would like to try to start doing this since my dad is the manager of a ford dealer i could get a lot of cars to do like some new 5.0 mustangs and some new gt500's.
Got this as my first whip, 2015 Limited Lt, which comes with sun roof, kick ass ride especially being a big car which works when I go on road trips or for when I go to work on the freeways, sound system is bomb too
Ryan Pollock I’m debating on buying one because I need a more reliable car. Has it been mostly trouble free? My current car has been in the shop A LOT lately.
I just got one of these for my company car. Everything is the same except the interior is black and mine has 172K miles...but you would never know it...looks and runs excellent! I just got this car yesterday and havent had a chance to see what all the buttons do....glad you posted this, now I have a better idea!
Nice to see my car in a video. I have the exact same year and LT 3.5 trim. But mine is in white, has a sunroof/moonroof and the "old-man's" shifter on the column. It is a bit weird that mine has a different stereo display. It actually has a graph for he equalizer instead of just numbers. I agree with the engine sound. Even though not the best six cylinder sound, the 3.5 with single exhaust sounds better than the 3.9, even if it has 40hp less. And yes. These are great cars. Sure, it's not a Toyota, but it is not a bad car at all. Feels better built than onther American cars and some Japanese cars. Interiors have cheap plastics here and there (steering column and cneter console lock), but most of the built feels solid and more expensive to the touch than they really are. Reliability really depends on how well you care for your car, with a bit of luck. Mine has 99,876 miles on it (as of today), and so far, going by the service record, my water pump is the only thing that has failed on me (I was the unlucky owner who had to replace it). Other than that, I've replace the brake rotors, which had a wear expected for a 100,000 car. I did a tuneup last month and have kept the regular maintenance ever since I got it. Car runs solid, and quite frankly, it feels newer than it actually is. Almost on my third year with it. For what I paid for it (about 6k at 97,000 miles), you can't get any other car of similar characteristics. Most you can get is a beat up base Camry with over 200,000 miles.
man the interior bucket seats are impressive the way the colouration is..... and they're cloth. my god. chevrolet picked up on some of the nice styling cues. the dash board and the door interior are very nicely coloured and designed. looks as luxurious as 2005 lexus es330
It's so bad that the new impalas are almost only with V6 engines..Look at the old impala.LT1!What a power, what a sound!Of course there's the SS model...but I think that the V8 engines should be mounted even in basic models.Great video Kyle :)
@@silverrain99205Update: My ac compressor just failed and the transmission has been a bit sloppy since I first started driving it, but it's still driving down the road haha.
its been 8 months Ive had it...only problem was the muffler seam opened up on it...so had that replaced. Great car, very dependable....178K on it now....mpg 25-29 and I do drive it somewhat easy
my grandparents got one and i drove it a few times. its a great car but to me feels kinda sluggish because i like quick cars but its big and has great rear leg room
i have one just lke this but its an 08 3.5 its very quick and not at all SLOW i timed my implala on a flat smooth road and got to 60 in 7.2-7.5 sec very strong!!!
Why exactly do you say that? I've had a 2006 Impala since 2007 ad absolutely nothing has gone wrong. I wouldn't call it an awesome car or anything, but certainly not a piece of shit.
MinnesotaChevy454 agreed my 07 I've own 3yrs still 193234 Miles and all I've done was brakes oilchange .plugs wires usual maintenance .. still runs smooth
@iSlomobrandon yeah ir does depend on a number of factors, but when the EPA does gas milege test, they get get rid of any unneccessery weight, and drive normal.
@85ZingoGTR Keep in mind that some people just want a nice, reliable, straight forward vehicle. This vehicle is targeted more at that market. Simple, straight forward no frills. Honestly I think it's a very nice car and a good example of less is more. If you want something with more of a sporty or update "Look" then try the Malibu.
Nice video but the gas gauge reads low and how much gas do you have left.? The tire servicing monitor system needs servicing soon, you can't ignore things like this.
@mustang633NY yeah my bad, used Impalas, even 2010 models go for under 20 grand. Tells you something about their resale value... as in its very crappy. The Fusion may be midsize but its feels roomier in cabin space over the Impala. The Impala's back seat is pathetic for a full size car, only thing that makes it full size is the huge trunk. The new Taurus would be my choice if I had to buy a full size sedan.
@Jakeman2164 that's beacuse when you floor it, you expect a lot because the engine is reving really fast when in fact, it has no more power to give because the 3.5 GM v6 gives 100% of its power at 3700rpms, so when you passed 3700 rpms, you were not getting nothing else.
My cousin just got a 2006 Impala today. I don't know which trim. I think an LS because it's basic and has that extra seat in the front with hubcaps. But its's black. with basically the same interior.
I find the newer electronic power steering assist to be a bit weird. I had to drive my friend's impala out of the sand and it through me off a bit. It didn't have the smooth feel that the hydraulic systems have and it made some disconcerting groaning sounds under heavy load. Plus, my other friend has a Chevy Cobalt with the same type of system and the thing would shut off after 5 minutes and flash the message POWER STEERING on the display. Apparently it's common because there was a recall.
That's the car I want for my first car!! It's got amazing fuel economy for its class 21 city and 31 highway! And in most cases you can get them Pretty cheap
Yep, it's a great buy. I am considering a 2013 Impala LTZ with 33k miles selling for $12,000. The older drivetrain (2006-2011) had hit and miss reliability, but for 2012, Chevy put in a 3.6L V6 paired to a six speed auto. That improved gas mileage and performance. With LTZ models you get luxury car features like heated seats and remote start for the price of a brand new subcompact. GM did have timing chain issues with the 3.6 in their large crossover vehicles (Traverse and its siblings), but it appears the Impala and other sedans with the 3.6 are doing fine. You can buy this Impala generation from rental car companies. The one I'm looking at is being sold by Hertz car sales, and I get my three day test rental in two days. If you're like me and don't care much about bodywork former rental Impalas are a great buy. Few people rent them, and they're usually easier on the more powerful cars. Used Impalas are a better buy than brand new cars. You simply won't get the same combination of comfort, cargo volume, performance, and fuel economy in any other car. Plus, due to their boring rental car image, I imagine prices will be very flexible. I saw a 2007 Impala just like this one sit at a Chevy dealer for over a year.
I like these cars. I've been looking at used 2011 LTs. Drove a 2007 SS with the V8 yesterday. That one is scary, in a good way. ;) Sure wish they'd let it go for what I can pay. Such fun cars to drive, LT and SS. That plastic wood trim stuff is such crap. Really cheapens things. I don't think the SS I drove had that, but all the LTs did. There is worse, drove a 06 Lincoln Zephyr and that thing was just silly on the inside. Worth TDing a used one just to get a laugh.
I have a 09 & it came from a ex officer. It has a performance chip & I cant locate it to see what type of chip it is. I am wanting to program it. Do You know where it is located at?
If someone wants a car that looks good, I have no idea why anyone would pick a modern chevy impala before the monster looking 69' version. That's the car I'm gonna buy one day, fuck yeah.

@TheiTouchKid I agree with you 100% dude, I love the new Fords but every time I drive a Honda I always get that sense that will keep going for a very long time. I don't get that in American cars, even tho Ford has really improved the quality of their vehicles. Honestly, Im not a fan of GM still. If I had to choose American I'd buy Ford.
If any one knows the 1996-1999 Oldsmobile 88 or LSS, It is similar to the Impala. The specs are quite the same, and I think if Oldsmobile was still in business The 88 would've been the brother or sister of the Impala. If you know what I mean.
