I've not tried this specific interface, however like you I also own the Audiofuse 8pre as well as the Audiofuse Studio. I've been on a journey for years trying to find the right combo for my needs, and luckily I found it about 2 months ago with the those units. The sound, noise floor, flexibility, durability, ease of use; it's all fantastic. Arturia has my vote.
Great review. I record often loud acoustic instruments and the electronic music reviewers just don’t have the same needs: ex the importance of being able to adjust the input/ USB mix. The Arturia looks great.
Thanks for this. I’m heading out to get one of these today I was looking at the Motu M2, but reading a lot about reliability issues, vs this one’s “five year warranty.” Seems like kind of a bit of a reliable and less expensive vs flashy thing. Maybe I’ll curb my desire for the flashy. Nobody has talked about how the Motu and this one, and some others will still work as powered pass-throughs unplugged from your computer You can use these as a DI box, or even a rudimentary to channel mixer, just by powering them into a USB power supply without any computer, which kind of Futureproof them, even if the drivers aren’t updated, or usb C isn’t supported anymore My old Presonus Firebox works as a plug it in to the wall DI box, even though FireWire isn’t supported now, which is some consolation. At least I don’t just have to throw it away. Some of the newest audio interfaces that rely totally on software look like they will just turn into ewaste. I am curious about the Audient ones in particular. What do those buttons and knobs do when the software isn’t connected to anything? Anyways, thanks for this hopeful review. I think I will have a good time with this device. The only thing I would add, is that for me, I am pretty much a beginner, and only have a few devices, so having one thing I can plug all my stuff into means it’s handy to have the midi ports on the same thing. It is really helpful to hear that I don’t need them though. That widens the number of different interfaces I can look at which I appreciate. Thank you!
One older guy here (I pre date MIDI by over a decade) who still appreciates seeing MIDI din sockets built into both instruments & interfaces. Having a Ground Control device plugged into the interface is part of my workflow, & I bemoan the loss of the "through/Thru" port from keyboards :-(
I’m a big Audiofuse fan and owner of the Studio version. However, I beg to disagree on phantom power “generally not damaging a ribbon microphone” comment made at around the 4:27 mark. My experience and understanding is opposite and that yes, phantom power can and will damage a ribbon mic. YMMV
I’ve heard this opinion a lot. My sources from the BBC (where phantom used to be permanently enabled on every channel) say that no damage has ever come to any of their ribbons. So I’m going with that, combined with my own 20 year experience of no damage.
If the Minifuse is even half the quality of my Audiofuse Studio and my Audiofuse 8pre then it will be amazing. I switched over to Arturia from UA, among others, and I'm thrilled to the core.
i get one unit and for the price its the better deal now ? why ? look focusrite have already made ..... 3 gen hardware, 3 gen !!!! so ur scarlett will be obsolete faster, u jst got to read all issue drivers with older gen. And the minifuse got 5 years warranty !!!!

Really curious about these interfaces. I need to check one out myself! Great video.
Thanks Kyle!

Yes, but not in asio mode, you can use directsound or windows audio if you don’t need real-time monitoring
Arturia minifuse or Scarlett ?!
