Modelling The Past - Copenhagen Fields, London

- A chance to explore an extraordinary model built by the World's oldest model railway club. Called 'Copenhagen Fields' it depicts an area of London just north of Kings X station. Worth a visit if you ever get the chance.
I've seen this layout at the Ally Palace show a few years ago. I asked where Mrs. Wilberforces's house was and the guy pointed to where it will go. It's a work of art, for sure!
Without a doubt a wonderful layout based very closely to the real area.
I highly recommend the film The Lady Killers.
The major compromise in the layout that Tim Watson may have mentioned is that the Caledonian road bridge over the railway faces the wrong way it should be simply a continuation of the road.
It is a layout that good I think it should one day be part of the National Railway Museum in York.
Absolutely stunning! Not just a model layout, it's a work of art. It's packed with history, and I had to laugh at the humour of the gentleman in the urinal! I can't think of many YT videos that I've ENJOYED more - many thanks and congratulations to all the modellers who have contributed to what deserves to become a part of London's social history.

Where is this layout, can public come and view…..
It is near Kings X and I believe they have regular open evenings.
It is at The Model Railway Club, 4 Calshot St, London, N1 9DA. It will next be erected in October ‘23 prior to attending the Warley National Model Railway Show at the NEC on 11-12th November. The MRC is open on Thursday nights.
Sadly unable to view, travelling to uk sometime next year….
