crazy thing is he doesn't even use a metronome when recording or playing live and drums is not even his first or main instrument. He's an organist and bassisst
We drove 3,000 miles through Europe from the UK to Stockholm in 2016. Had just fitted a new high quality stereo and discovered this album. Sounded amazing and these songs will always take me back to very long empty roads, cruising our mid 90s Mercedes along the side of massive lakes and big open skies. Saw Khruangbin in Paris in 2018 and they were great. Specially loved their live hip-hop classics medley.
I love how they can jump from style to style of music effortlessly. Their later albums are a big departure from this jazz rock psychadelic sound but I like their early music just as much
I like this idea. I'm old enough to remember houses with high ceilings. They're usually in older, historic neighborhoods. I was a kid. The rooms seemed enormous but I liked having the space surround me.
Woah there Tommy, would you gain a little respect for your brotha Alex? Jeez dude with all the judgement you are portraying someone otta think you got some issues wit your ego :/
I started listening to khruangbin since they appeared in an Italian beer commercial back in 2015 or 2016, big fan since then, I feel like I should compliment how general music taste evolved and got us all here. Thanks for all the good vibes and music, helped in that part of my life. Khruangbin will always be part of my playlist with it's chill groove and light touch.
@@dequanspencer4530 hey I don't judge. If I was a company and if I had to choose the music for my ad then I'd definitely consider khruangbin unless I'm selling black market explosives
OMG same story for me! To be precise, it was Corona's commercial and the song was "The Number 4"! Shazam in my hand and I discovered one of my favourite alive bands around
The amount of sounds/instruments that come together in this song is like a sweet science, I’d be happy without even getting paid a dime to watch them see how they made this masterpiece and all the other masterpieces they’ve made
Thee are too many underrated bands out there, just waiting to be discovered. I always come across these types of bands by accident, I swear. Why do these rare bands have to have such complicated band names though. I love playing this music, so chill right before bedtime. LOOVE LOVE LOVE!
I love how they very subtly integrated the women choir so that they sound like the Isaac Hayes Choir girls from the song "One Woman". Probably not intentional but it reminded me of it...
I loved Chicano Batman but I enjoyed Khruangbin just as much. And I went in not knowing a thing about Khruangbin. The Shacks were a pleasure to see open as well. Fantastic concert overall.
After my first time listening to this awesome band I bought a digital guitar interface for my Gibson that’s been hanging on my wall for years. Now I’m learning some bluesy chords , strumming along with an infinite amount of pedals and effects having a BLAST!!! Thank you for everything you do Khruanbin!
Such a reality check. 10+ years ago I was in love with almost the same "hUh-huh" but as the soundtrack of San Andreas - Radio Los Santos "Hood took me under" instrumental. Now I'm 27 and almost the same "hUh-huh" got back to me aligned with my age :)
When the fuck did this almost get half a million views, that's amazing, been sharing your music with my friends since i discovered you :) keep making music, love your jam
What is it about this band that makes everyone who hears them even now almost immediately fall in love with them...? i'm guilty been binging for 2 weeks now. Cant stop clicking on every clip i find ... Who ever figures it out and bottles it will be the richest man in Babylon..
That sound at the begging of the song I thought was going to be throughout the song, it came on at the end so I was actually happy to hear it again..that little guitar sound is lovely.. wish it was put in another song like this by itself

Just heard "Friday Morning" on the radio and fell in love immediately. Decided to expand my exposure to the the band and I haven't been disappointed by anything I've heard. Very much influenced by 70s soul with a modern flavor.
I am a bass player, pretty much expertised playing things like Vulfpeck, EWF, and funk. And I can tell this song is HARD TO PLAY. Yes, it is slow and does not require virtuosity. But it's as *tricky as drving on a desert at 50mph*. The song is clockwork, so so so much clockwork, in a way that if you don't pay LOTS of attention, you WILL miss the beat or play a wrong note. You get hipnotized and it's hard to play everything 100% correct. PS: Laura plays and sings at the same time.
Just found out about them a few months ago. Man they're good. I hear they're from Houston. I live in a small town just half hour drive from Houston. Wanna go see them in concert some time I do. : )
10 seconds into the song and I know khruangbin's gonna become one of my all time favorite bands
Yesssss!!!!!

Its the coffee making song.
The same here.😂😢😮😅

This is the 2nd song in my coffee making regiment 😂😂😂😂
That drummer with the steady beat playing those sixteenth notes🎶 love this band.. I saw them live they were even better. Best concert of my life 🙌🙌🙌

Honestly I could never play this steady without a metronome

Wow, jazzy, delicate, nuanced and sexy. My favourite band now.
Why have I only just discovered these guys... psychedelic soul/jazz-rock!

One of the grooviest songs ever made. Not joking!

Rock-solid drumming here.

What a description ✊
I live in that room.
Minimalist space, a vintage record player spinning on its own accord. 1 🪑 and a 🪴.
Smooth, I like how each instrument stands out but still remains cohesive. Big thumbs up
