  • See the brand-new Power MIG 211i Welder from Lincoln Electric go head-to-head with the Power Wave C300. I also review it against the 210 MP and new 215 MPi. I have not been paid or compensated for this video.

    Great vid. I didn't know about run in feature. I have a 210mp and I noticed on certain more exposed welds I had to start at greater hold off distance with a little higher voltage and slower feed. Now I know why.

    I went with the bigger brother, the 215 MPi and have no regrets, way more prectical.

      Is there any reason to pick the 215 over the 211i if you don’t plan on using the tig feature at all?

      I ran the the 180 for years no issues I recently bought the 215mpi at twice the cost I asked myself why, I think it boils down to more bells and whistles really, I am able to fine tune my welds and produce a better product,(depends on what kind of welding you’re doing-I have a friend who has a big shop and some high dollar welding machines and sometimes uses an inexpensive portable mig welder to get into small places on trailers and heavy equipment, works great)and of course cost is the biggest factor, Just my opinion. Good luck on your decision!

    I took your advice and just bought the 215 and used it today......A very nice welder with real good adjustability.....I welded in a fuel tank crossmember on my older GMC.....Worked very nice and ran .035 wire with ease.....Not very pretty but I was welding on a lot of rusty and painted areas....on clean metal it would be nice....

      I'm still waiting for the opportunity to trade my 211 for a 215. The run-in adjustment is a must-have.
      A general tip - you want to have clean metal 3" in both directions from your weld seam. Treat that rule religiously and you'll be amazed at the improvement in quality of your welds.

    cool vid but the one thing that i have a little bit of a problem with is that the power wave costs about 3 times as much as the 211i so i kinda just thing that it was a little bit of an unfair comparison

    Thanks for posting! I'm highly considering this machine. How do you think it would compare to an Eastwood 180?

    • @doomsdaydiesel
      @doomsdaydiesel  Год назад

      The Lincoln warranty is unmatched. AFAIK, all of Eastwood's products are made in chyna, so I wouldn't consider it.

      @@doomsdaydiesel Thanks! What are your thoughts on the entry level ESAB mig machines such as the EM 210?

    • @doomsdaydiesel
      @doomsdaydiesel  Год назад +1

      @@danielwarfield1027 the ESAB's have confusing interfaces. If you can get past that, they work OK. I've only ever worked in 1 production plant that solely ran ESAB machines. Their GMAW wire seems to be a lot more popular than their welding machines. Support was almost non-existent for me at the professional level. Lincoln stopped by frequently and Miller would stop by if I asked them to.

      Really can't go wrong with either. I'd wait for Lincoln's next promotion. They've been having them frequently this past year. With the economy getting ready to tank, I'm sure the prices will be coming down.
