Hey Dave, I actually been waiting for your review on this plugin. i knew you will give your honest opinion and not follow the hype. Thanks Uncle Dave, I appreciate you.
I think this was a good assessment of this plugin. I think that this is like salt. A poorly cooked meal sprinkling salt will not turn it into an incredible dining experience. That said a well mixed song adding just the right amount can add the dimension that your looking for in a mix. Like any tools in the right experienced hands it can be amazing. For me it’s a tool I love to have in my plugin tool box. Along with my Kazrog True Iron.
I was think about that. How will plugin companies stay in business? What will plugin companies do when everything possible has been made? I think a lot will go out of business.
I think this is all leading to almost completely AI created music, with musicians and producers claiming credit for what It can do, just to keep the facade that it's about creativity and ingenuity. And that will be just the microcosm of the whole. Watch out for what's coming. None of us who care about the human element are going to know what to make of it, or what to do.
I like it because I can use it in a live environment with LV1. In your demo, I did really like what it did to the drums, and the pre-sat 10k book. I agree with your assessment, in that it isn't a game changer, but it is really nice to have this on a live desk.
You could apply that ‘Do we need’ query to virtually aNy type of plugin manufactured. The idea, I believe, is to give you another option to achieve a sonic quality that some of the other saturators may not provide to your liking. I love the way this plug-in sounds, so yeah I need another saturation plugin.
I don't have much idea about saturators because I never had one, except a one button thing that never excited me. Typically I use an SSL channelstrip, which in itself colors the sound a bit. But, i bought the BB before i even looked at a review. And, I'm pretty excited about what this thing gets out of my voice (VO and podcast).
I think waves biggest problem is the backlash they got from going subscription based. They pulled back on that but still offer scripts as an alternative for keeping everything latest and greatest. I totally dig their stuff..esp that rs124 abbey comp.
Great demo, I felt the same way about this plugin. Lol GAME CHANGER 😂 I have Waves plugin too and some of them sound very good. But really, how many saturation plugins do you need? When you get up to over 15 or more then it's getting crazy. Thanks for the video 😁
Good, honest, and fair review. I agree that the "game changer" stuff triggers my spidey senses. I do like some of the features of this. I'm definitely going to try the demo and see if it's something I would use over other options. That's one good thing about Waves, you can try stuff out before purchasing.
Great video! Would it make a huge difference if every track had an instance of that plugin? And every one plugin would be set differently according to each instrument and what fit better the mix? Would have loved to hear an A/B of it turned on on every track and turned off.
This plugin seems to have been a catalyst for a debate on plugin hype. I've bought it, it sounds 'ok' although some people are saying it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, and others are saying it's a con. 🤔
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy it wasn’t in Cubase but I used it or one VERY similar to this one by Waves as a third party when I used Cubase as my primary DAW

I doubt that, but you never know

Hey, if you dig it, then its all good!

Yes, 15 saturation plugins should be enough.....lol
So I took advantage of the sale a bought this plugin, worked great for the saturation I was looking for on a particular mix. The
Thanks for the demo.
great. If it works for you, then it is a good buy!
great sounding plug in
Thanks for watching
When you say there isn't anything new and exciting.....Can we rule out Output's 'Thermal' plugin?
I have not seen anything new and exciting out as far as plugins go

yes, you can demo it for free, that is a good thing
Great video!

yes you could put it on every track. I suggest you demo it and try that for yourself and see if you like it

I would not say its a "con". I think that is a bit un-fair. Like I said in the video, it's an "ok" plugin in my opinion, nothing more
Eventide's SplitEQ is something "revolutionary" because it gives users options that did not exist prior to it.
Great! I'll have to check that out
Fair review.
Thank you
yes great review, easy to use
Glad it was helpful!
I could’ve sworn I used BB Tubes a long time ago on Cubase on some of my guitars. It sounded decent but most of them sound and do something similar
I dont remember that in Cubase

Much like Beauty and the Beast as a take on play for Disney if you get what I'm saying. Maybe they were meant to marry each other.
LOL....
I don't need. And I knew it will be average thing.
Its ok, but nothing I cant live without
This plugin is insanely over hyped. I am over it completely.
Yep, like most new plugins that come out. These companies have to keep trying to make you believe that their new plugin will change everything.
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy it does and it’s fantastic
