This sounds so fun! If we complete our 5-6 prompts, does that carry-over to the bigger game in October? For exampke: I’ve already completed INSPECTOR THEROUX at BAYOU HAUNTED HOUSE and RUBY’S KREWE in 2023. So if I complete SUMMERWEEN, does it add to my results in BLACKOWEEN?
Yes it does carry over! If you read books by Black authors for summerween it can count.

For Noir Apothecary readers, Valerie Burns has a new book coming out July 23rd. It's the 3rd book in the Baker Mysteries series. It's a cute series with pet involvement!! The first book is called Murder is a Piece of Cake is you haven't checked them out already. Valerie writes other cozy mystries under the pen name VM Burns too if you need more recs! I also recommend books by Abby Collette, Kallie E. Benjamin, and Tyora Moody!

I have a question 🙈 - for July Noir should all books be somewhere in the crime fiction umbrella, or does that not matter if it fits the prompt? (Specifically, I’m wondering about the Black classic prompt)
With the black classic prompt, you can step out of black crime fiction but the other books are covered by the crime fiction umbrella.
