Really nice how you design the video. When I saw that you have already brought so much professionalism to your little channel, I just had to follow you and help your channel grow. Many greetings from Germany
Watching this video just make longsword click for me, thanks. Was practicing while watching and now I am enjoying longsword. Brand new player and have been trying all the weapons
As a person who has well over 2k hunts in world with the longsword I 100% agree with this video. Especially the first point of using the basic combo the overhead slash comes out so slow that I avoid it at all costs I’ll even spam thrust into upward swing ( B,Y on Xbox, left click, right click on pc)
Fantastic video, very compact and efficient guide Idk what's up with the comments, it feels like mh players just actively try to debunk good advice and promote bad ones lol
I love how I knew the first and third one intuitively but didn't know you could skip a stage for spirit blade which makes it easier to pull off. Longsword is just so well designed cause of this honestly. It's kinda like how Dual Axes not so subtly tell you to demon form for bursts of mobility and damage while being out of form is for slower moments really great video.
Nice, but not mandatory. It is one of the best Long Sword skills in Rise/Sunbreak where it greatly increases Special Sheathe speed. However, the difference in World/Iceborne is very small. You can see the difference in my full Long Sword guide, you only save a fraction of a second with Quick Sheath 3 vs no Quick Sheath. I run a build with Quick Sheath 2 since it's "free" with the Velkhana Gamma Greaves, but I did just fine throughout the whole game without it.
Can you explain the meme? Is LS hated for being too popular? Or did people just get tripped in multiplayer one time too many? I am just starting out, and suck with everything that's not Shield HBG.
@@Alorandits just that in most situations the LS is quite hard to play but is the most played weapon. That means that 9/10 the player playing it isn’t that good at it and since it has a high skill ceiling well they’re kinda useless. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t incredible Ls mains out there but most of its player base are considered « noobs » and since the weapon looks and sounds cool a lot of new players pick it up and just perma cart with it.
You assume that the average player is able to read every monsters attack and time the foresight slash perfectly, while also entirely dismiss how Focus affects your gauge recovery with a downed/flying monster. I wonder who this video is for because the topics for the basic combo and foresight slash imo have a totally different target group. No one with a few hundred hunts under their belt will use the 4-hit basic combo because it‘s not required with FS, IS & Focus managing the gauge. Saying that people should not run focus for gauge management but at the same time talking about how to build gauge faster with step slash & thrust is weird.
I'll consider making a companion PC LS guide for MHWilds to go along with the controller one. I would need to re-edit buttons and re-record audio lines. If it does well enough, I'll do the same for the other guides I put out.
Another step is : Don´t hit the Head if a Horn or Hammer player is in the Hunt. You drop the DPS AND the down-Time of the Monster, when you hit/trip them.
this is not true, they should have flinch free slotted. The head is the best hitzone on the majority of monsters, going for something like the tail often results in ~30% less dps for the people doing so. Sacrificing a single gem slot to slot in flinch free is more than worth it to keep team damage at 100%. flinch free is practically mandatory for multiplayer hunts
That May be true in Friends Lobbys. But it is Ego to expect that from randoms. Majority are building full dps. And that Skill is worth in 3-4 monsters. All i Say is, If thay flinch hold distance. And be a Teamplayer
@@gubble7478 "That May be true in Friends Lobbys. But it is Ego to expect that from randoms. "Majority are building full dps. And that Skill is worth in 3-4 monsters. " Sacrificing ONE deco slot does not stop someone from making an effective dps build. "All i Say is, If thay flinch hold distance. And be a Teamplayer" I do agree with this, if the randoms couldn't be bothered to equip flinch free, than one should make an effort to not flinch them. @@gubble7478 At early gaming okay. But not slotting flinch free at endgame and complaint about trip while building full dps is a huge misunderstand of game mechanics. Everybody being able to hit the head is much more dps, and the monster turning less increases it even more by reducing need for reposition from the monster turning 180 to agro another player.

I consider it a perfect run with no mistakes 😂

If your Fade Slash hits multiple targets it will fill more of your Spirit Gauge
How about quick sheathe?
Some people say its good and others that it is really bad

@Lost3mber Don't forget that due to its swing size it often trips people not using Flinch Free.
Seems like this person suffers from "decoration problems".

It's not that focus is completely useless, just that it's not worth it to waste deco slots on it
Yeah don’t run focus on LS. Not worth the deco slot. Especially when iai slash auto fills it and foresight is easy to build gauge.
Apparently another mistake would be to play on PC because You won't find a guide with computer buttons just controller
So plug in a controller…
