I have seen one of the green 275 GTB/4's in NY you mentioned numerous times. I have seen it on the road over the years and at multiple shows. It is VERY rough but all original and curious to know in the current originality crazy market what someone would pay for this car.
Great stories. Definitely would enjoy individual episodes about interesting cars or proceses and situations. Suggestion:. Charge an annual subscription fee for your newly digitized files. I would think there are many people willing to pay for your information. Don't underestimate the value of your knowledge and documentation.
Wow great stories. Really enjoyed that! The stories are sometimes as interesting as the cars, more so in some cases. Google Lord Brockett. A British lord who tried to falsify an insurance claim on at least one Ferrari and was subsequently found out and jailed. He’s quite the character!
Love the stories. Can I ask a dumb question. In June 1966 (shortly after the LeMans loss), I was with my family at the factory in Maranello. The first car I saw was a black with beige interior, 500 Superfast, that was destined for the Royal Family in Saudi Arabia. Or so I was told. Was just wondering what may have happened to the car. Was it sold to Saudi, and since then??
@@FerrarisOnline No, just the first Ferrari I saw at the factory in 1966, wanted it as a 16 year old, but don't have enough resources to afford it So its strictly curiosity.
The car you saw was most likely #6305 SF completed 14/5/65 in Nero and Tan.It's had about 10 owners and I believe currently resides in Washington. There's actually a very nice scale 1:43 model of this particular car made by BBR version 1999 John McCaw.
@@FergusPol Thanks, the amazing thing, I was given a Ferrari catalog during the visit, June 1966. The black / tan Superfast was in the delivery area, and the same colour combination was on the picture in the catalogue. Same car?
@@domtoni4567 Maybe, you'd need to go through the serial numbers which would reveal the original colour and trim combinations. Colleen's dad might be able to help you as this very car passed through his hands a few years back. Or Manfred Lampe , if you can hold of him whose knowledge borders on encyclopedic. Or Google 500 Superfast and see how many have that colour combo. Some have been wrecked so there should be less than 36 left anyway. My guess it's probably the same car, although press photographs of the period were generally black and white not colour.
I find the stories really interesting, but I have to turn the volume up all the way to hear it. Then the commercials play and are screaming at me. I don't know if it's something you can fix or if it's RUclips.
Its a little of both. Ive had it happen to me on youtube quite often. We are still perfecting our recording for the podcast. Maybe youtube is taking a page out of cable tvs playbook and just having extra loud commercials. But ill up the gain next time.
I remember Mike traveling around in that Trailblazer across California with Colleen trying to buy exotics last decade.. TIme flies
He still has the trailblazer aka "Mr. Truck"
Fantastic stories!
