- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has been ported to PC and we can now play natively on Steam Deck SteamOS. I will show you how to get it up and running in the video and also add 3DS Texture Mods.

I think it is a relatively new mod. I really want Majoras Mask to get the same treatment. Playing at 165hz for me was golden even with n64 textures & models.

The Majora's Mask version of this is currently in the making.
If you want a faithful texture upgrade I recommend using the OoT Reloaded texture pack.
You can still adjust every single texture and many models after that

This is a great video! One major note tho! If you're on steam deck you should use the performance version not compatibility. With performance version it plays at a buttery smooth 60fps with the texture mods. On compatibility it's extremely laggy with the texture mods enabled

This is the best version right now. Once you add custom Textures and models it looks good enough and the features make it stand out. (mainly higher frame rate and free camera, tons of fixes and adjustment options, also incredibly efficient performance!)
I use it with OoT Reloaded Textures, for the prerendered Scenes I use Djipi's Texture Pack (which I butchered up to only include the backgronds to make it work) for Adult Link's model I use the Soul Calibur one and for Child Link I use to 3DS model although I think it looks a bit silly. Theres also the Melee model but the problen with that is the eyes are huge and he looks like hes on drugs.

Anything Helps, Mods crash as a non-Steam exe, but not in Lutris. Maybe a Proton thing? Strangely, Lutris seems to handle it fine other games fine as non steam games. Wondering if it's got something to do with the Proton version?

I’m not asking for places to get such things but the description has confused me, since when does SOH require updates, keys, or DLC? Last I remember all it needed was a proper rom file, is this just something you put in all descriptions?
yes, just a standard description so people don't ask for any of that.
Now we wait on sound, animation, and lighting improvements.
yeah, we got some great modders out there.
Is there any way to change the button controls layout to match your controller? I mean so it’ll directly tell you ingame to press “circle button” ingame to do stuff. I know there’s a mod that can let you change it to match your Xbox/playstation controls. But it’s hard to figure out how to add that mod in
I haven't tried any other mods. I'm not sure if there is a steam deck UI mod available.

When I set the FPS to 30 it drags. when I set it to 60 I get some dragging during the cut scene. What other setting am I missing. I set my deck to 30fps and in the game options like u suggested. Are your deck setting different?
I have CryoUtilities on recommended settings and set 4GB VRAM. Maybe you should try to use the performance build of ship of harkinian.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG I’ll try that I set up cryotools when I bought my deck, maybe that is messing with it. Do u still run it at 30 or 60 FPS?
I'm using the compatibility build and 3ds textures mod at 30 FPS. If I don't use 3ds textures mod I can play at 60 FPS. I haven't tried performance build yet. It might solve the issue.

I dumped my master quest game.
I installed everything and it worked great. Used the performance version. I got the Steam Deck OLED and locked the fps to 45 for the game and refresh rate of the deck. Works great. The only problem I have is that the textures of the rubies are missing. So all of them are black. This is only when I have the alternative assets on. Any Ideas on that? Cheers!
i only played a little bit of the start to get the sword and shield and i can see green and blue rupees. Where do you see black rupees?
@@GrownUpGamingGUG right at the start in the Kokiri Forest. I was collecting rubies for the shield. In the deku tree the rubies looked better. Don’t know… maybe it was just a cache problem or so.

There's a setting that says something like use 3d textures for items in the overworld. I used that and rupees/hearts/etc look 3d with the 3ds textures.

Am i tripping or is the textures making the rupees in game look blacked out so not only am I able to know what color it is but also sometimes it just doesn't appear for me
Textures are fine for me but some viewers did say they get black rupees. Maybe read the comments see how they fixed it.
Woo! Love everything about the 3DS version but this makes it even better.
Yes, I loved the 3ds remake, but camera controls is another level.
Maybe you're having stuttering due to you've the Master Question version ROM. They suggest the not Master Quest ROM version instead.
i tested it with other roms, when you have 3ds textures enabled, sometimes the fps drops to 30ish and you really feel the stutter. I think it's the limitation of the steam deck. if you want smooth 60 fps on steam deck, don't enable 3ds textures.

I have a question I hope you can help me answer. My overworld rupees are black, how can I fix this and make the rupees bright, vibrant, and shiny?
Another viewer had the same issue. But he said after he went to the deku tree it was fixed. I haven't played a lot of this game, just kakariko village to get the sword and shield but I can see green and blue rupees.

I think it is. I haven't played the whole game to compare it though. I really like the new camera controls though. You should try it and let us know your thoughts.
You need to also replace the models, only the most important models such as Link himself are included so far.
It's still the best version so far, it keeps improving.
And you can even add whatever model you like from other sources such as Soul Calibur Link for example.
3DS uses citra, and a double screen layout, not perfect for the steamdeck.

What did you map the C-Buttons to on the steam deck ?
I used X, Y, L and d-pad.
Mods are in the "mods" folder however they aren't actually loading for some reason. Could it be a permissions issue?

@@GrownUpGamingGUG someone posted a pack on Reddit which supposedly works great on Steam Deck. I tested the mods on my Windows PC and they load up just fine. But on Steam Deck no assets load. I can't see any visual differences.

Can I delete the zip files out of the primary drive folders after game is running?
This video has been a while. I can't remember the files but I think the safe way is to delete the zips and leave them in the trash bin and test out the game first. If all is good then empty the trash bin.
Is there a way to get the non master quest version in Ship of Harkinian?
yes you need to use your own rom. doesn't have to be master quest.
So I eliminate the use of the c stick and what do I do with ocarina songs?
Map it to the dpad or something. I think I did that. It was a while ago.

Textures a messed up on every NPC's face. They look fine without the 3DS models, but don't work properly on tge new models.
i didn't get really far on this version, just got the sword and shield. I played too much on the 3ds. I probably play it again in a few years later.
@GrownUpGamingGUG Link's face is also broken. Alongside every kokiri. So the issue should be noticeable straight away, no matter how far you are in tge game.
