Holy shit... Yeti, it's videos like these why I can never get office work done... Don't ever stop. Why not make movies? I'd pay good money to see a two-hour fishing or hunting film!
Doesn't get any better that this. I'm going to buy another 10 Yeti's to add to my existing 10, just so you'll keep funding short films like this. This is awesome.
Lawson Lindsey Fishing This is your next step brother. I’ve followed you from years back, and with your non “look at me” attitude, this is where you can become one of them.
I think there really isn't a word to actually describe the feeling you get during the "initial strike" on a fly rod. Not to be corny or anything, but it really is an amazing feeling. Those that have used a fly rod know exactly what I'm talking about. It is an absolute high. Addicted to the chase. Beautiful video.
Absolutely incredible film. Mangum is the real deal. Yet again, Travis and Ben over deliver and leave us spellbound...drooling on the keyboard. The only issue is that this is seared into our brains and we aren't tarpon fishing tomorrow. Need to fix that... BRAVO
I stumbled across this video not long after it was posted when I was working as a fly fishing guide in the Rockies in my mid twenties. I was awestruck and inspired and it put the keys very high on my bucket list. Fast forward a few years and I caught my first tarpon on a fly rod today. I’m here for the week for my best friends bachelor party. Thanks Dave for your inspiration. This place is truly magical and I hope to come back many times.
the ending is priceless, both of them. anyone who doesnt watch past the save the tarpon page is missing out. gave me chills. I feel the same for musky as he does for tarpon. respect.
All of these have been extremely well done, but the narration and musical combination followed by the shot from 5:31 forward is magical. Seriously breathtaking, I'm still in awe.
6:02 I love the slow motion of this shot and the song attached. It gives me butterflies every single time. It’s just absolutely amazing how big these fish are and it’s truly humbling. Love these yeti videos. Come back every once in awhile and grow back my passion for fishing.
There are few people who truly experience the power of the outdoors in their life. Fishing is the epitome of solace where it's just you and nature going to battle. Nothing is quite like it. It is a religion within itself.
When ur down in flamingo and you feel the first tug there's nothing like it. When the beast at the end of your line flys out of the water time just stops. Great video guys.
Unbelievable storytelling and cinematography topped by a soundtrack culminating in the piano rendition of Pixies "Where is my mind". Fishing shorts, or any shorts for that matter, really don't get any better than this, folks.
Amazing cinematography! Normally I'm not a fan of black and white imagery, because the colors associated with fishing are so vibrant and beautiful, but this was masterfully done. It's a great story too, as few of us are able or willing to devote our lives to something like this. Just awesome!
Thank you very much. Although I didn't land any tarpon on the trip I just got back from, I got to see, feed, and observe them all around. At first sight I realized I'll include them in my yearly cycle when I begin guiding. Incredible fish and incredibly well produced short. Made me feel as if I did land one on my trip. Thanks again!
Every time I watch this video it gets me excited, to see the dedication to a craft that makes peoples hearts stop . There is nothing like hooking a tarpon and the chaos that ensues even if you’re not the one with the rod in your hands . It’s a new year with two tarpon trips scheduled can’t wait to feel the excitement . Thanks again for sharing
I've fished my whole life. I'm 65. I've watched hundreds of fishing videos. This is in a class all by its self. These Yeti folks are wonderful cinematographers. This fellow is an artist of an angler. This was inspirational as hell. I loved it. It is fishing. If God needed a guide and asked me, I'd tell Him, "here ya go Lord.".. Amen.
Wow, that is without doubt the best Fishing video I have ever seen!!!!! Loved the B/W, interviews, the slo-mo footage was incredible, just amazing all round. Congrats
I have to watch any Tarpon on fly video. It's a compulsion. But to have one that has an instrumental version of the Pixies, "Where is my mind", is just another level up!! Yep, if you're a Pixie fan, listen again from 4.30 onwards.....the music and the vision melding together is sublime...... Top stuff!
I am very, consistently impressed (and jealous) at the insane level of quality and creativity here. I DON"T EVEN LIKE FISHING and this channel is painting a mesmerising, romantic picture. You are winning the RUclips game. This channel needs millions of subs. Also, how did you do the extremely high frame rate? What device are you using?
Love love love this series from you guys. Finally picked up my YETI 65 in sea foam green last week. I love it! I'm a winegrower by trade and will be using the hell out of it this year! Keep it up team YETI!!!!!
Yay Yeti. Just stumbled into all these cool videos. Been binging on them while my wife's asking what I'm gonna get done today. I decided cleaning up and restringing my favorite reel while watching these videos is what I'm doing. Yeah yeah. Thx Yeti
Thanks for such a supportive video that makes it “okay” to be focused 24/7 on pursuing one’s passion. Loved the use of black and white as well as the crisp, slow motion. Such s nice contrast to the push for cinematic (blurred) motion. Exceptional work, fellas!👍🏻
Nice piece of video! My first trip to the Keys was in 87 with Mike Vaughn. It was an immediate addiction. There is nothing like the rush of the first 5 seconds. Will fish north again this year for the big boys.
I'm 61, I caught my first Tarpon at age 5, Tampa Bay. It's just the most awesome fish that swims, in my opinion. Nice to hear someone else who gets it...
Very few share a passion for the sport of fishing to a level that climbs far beyond his fellow anglers. Its more than an addiction its an obsession to learn and better understand every aspect of the game fish your chasing to do more then just improve but to fine tune your skills to set you apart and become the best at what you do. Somebody once told me that “time on the water” is all you need if your paying attention.
Fantastic production! Shooting in B&W gives it a more ethereal feeling, almost zen like. I understand David Mangum's obsession and I hope to book a trip this fall after I return from Alaska.
Holy shit... Yeti, it's videos like these why I can never get office work done... Don't ever stop. Why not make movies? I'd pay good money to see a two-hour fishing or hunting film!
Go to the fly fishing film tour F3T or the international fly fishing film tour I4F when it stops in your town. That's where this film debuted.
Doesn't get any better that this. I'm going to buy another 10 Yeti's to add to my existing 10, just so you'll keep funding short films like this. This is awesome.
How has this not gone viral yet? It's the most beautiful piece of fishing cinematography I've ever seen.
Does not matter how many times I watch this, still think it is one of the best fly fishing films ever made.
I could watch this all day. Great work guys
i have actually just thought about downloading thsi and making it my screensaver. And I have nothing at all to do with fishing (...yet).
Lawson Lindsey Fishing This is your next step brother. I’ve followed you from years back, and with your non “look at me” attitude, this is where you can become one of them.
I've watched 2 dozen of these YETI videos in a row! Keep em coming...

Literally this makes me tear up everytime I watch it lol.
Best short to date.

I'm back 6 years later to re-watch and this comment is still true. Piece of art.
I feel like this short should win an award hands down
That moment when you're not into fishing at all but the storytelling and cinematography just sucks you into the video. Amazing short story

These videos constantly make you question what you're doing with your life. This one x1,000,000. Great f'in work.
Thank you for all that it took to create this wonderful film. God bless the tarpon, Yeti and David Mangum for sharing their passions.
After watching several Yeti Videos, I must argue that they produce the most unique and brilliant videos. Unreal.
Screw anyone who dares give this a thumbs down. Absolutely STUNNING video work! Top 5 best fishing shorts I've seen hands down.
Thanks!

Always gonna be haters, Who cares. Good work Yeti!
Feathers, Fur, and Fins SS
as taylor swift says, haters gonna hate.
they're just mad that he can actually hook up and land monsters they only dream of.

I am 71, a woman, and I would love for him to be a guide so I could catch a magnificent fish like that! Excellent video!

This video made me care about tarpon, tarpon fishing, David, and those speaking so respectfully of him. Beautifully shot and edited. Powerful.
Thanks!

Catching a tarpon on the fly is now on my bucket list.

Amazing. Sums up the passion that fishing stirs up in us. Even as a humble LRF fisherman in the UK, i totally get this!
That shot from 5:31 must be the best shot I've ever seen. Unbelievable!
One of the most brilliant edited short films I have ever seen. Absolute exceptional talent.
Maxence Cyrin - Where is my mind
