I don’t care how old this show is or how it wound up in my suggestions. Mike is always awesome and this lady is a gem. I hope she is the most successful whatever the hell she is for as long as she wants to do it, she’s smart, patient, thoughtful, and hilarious. The world desperately needs more people like her.
Would love to see Mike make a return visit with both Anna Dhody and Caitlin Doughty there. I'm not sure the internet could handle all three of 'em together at the same time in that place. 😁
I first heard about the Mutter Museum from the live show of a podcast called Sawbones: A Marital Guide of Misguided Medicine. When they do a live show they try to find something medically important to the city they are visiting. I sooo want to go to this museum. It sounds cool and weird and fascinating.
Anna, you are brilliant! Mike, you represent me so well! I can't imagine you two having anything in common, and yet you're so much fun to watch together!
How did I ever miss these!!!!!! Lol mike such a dork and Anna is like can I run now lol… no really it looked like fun. Start my day with a lil happiness ty !
Was it really? I thought it's for men's patient because it would be awkward if male patients' heartbeat race everytime a male doctor put his head on their chest. *stares* *awkward blushing*
How on earth have I missed these when I absolutely adore "The Dhody/Doughty Sisters"!! PLEASE PLEASE make some form of show with Anna/Caitlin & Mike... ! Begging for decent TV content! Anna is phenomenal, I really hope to make it to the Mutter someday & hope I have the pleaser to meet her & many other employees!! Stay healthy!
Last time I was in the US I had no time left to visit Philadelphia and the famous Mütter Museum. It’s really a shame I didn’t make it. Next time I will make a priority of it. It’s such a wonderful collection in a magnificent building. I just love this channel.
I suspect the various tubes were used to get different amplifications or to focus the sound at certain depths. It would make sense if the small holed ends went against the ear, with the longer and shorter tubes serving to listen either to heartbeat, lung, or stomach functions. I am curious to know whether the small piece at the one end is also detachable.
So why is it able to be separated into pieces? Sound amplification tech has been around a long time, so I'm guessing that the amplifier core required the construction of the device to have multiple pieces.
Doctors of the time usually had their little black bags. It's fairly long, I bet it split into two parts so it fit into the bag. There were few hospitals, most doctors made housecalls back then.
I bet the large chamber in the middle helped give a little bit of acoustic amplification. Then the reason it's in 2 pieces was to carve out the middle without working through a tiny hole.
Aww, Mike, this is the perfect venue for ya! However, let's use some simple reasoning. Would an instrument with ends as blunt as that be a "rectal instrument?" No, it wouldn't.
I have no doubt my Maternal Grandfather, Dr. Guy Nelson, took the time to see the exhibits at your Museum. Doubtless he found them instructive, as well.
No you can't disinfect wood because it self disinfects. This is why wooden cutting boards how much safer to use than plastic. Dr. Elizabeth MD Ph.D Ph.D
I have known Mike Rowe since QVC and that weird marriage to Judy! I saw every episode of Dirty Jobs and Mike is a very funny man. Therefore get him on Caitlin's show! :-)
@@rockyford9049 it wasn't Jeffrey it was Judy! And it was very odd considering he was very handsome and she was pretty not so much! I knew her back then. So yes he has been married.
Mike hasn’t been married. See the following: “Judy Crowell was the host for a Rhonda Shears infomercial. She did a nice job and I remember the years she was a QVC host - her marriage to Jeff - hosting many shows and then her departure from the Q and her marriage to Paul Deasey. Has anyone else seen Judy any other time?”

I agree Frank. 100%.
"Yes, I think the problem is with my heart and not your rotating piece of wood" 🤣😆
Would love to see Mike make a return visit with both Anna Dhody and Caitlin Doughty there.
I'm not sure the internet could handle all three of 'em together at the same time in that place. 😁
It would pay serious cash to see that
Did Mike finally meet his hosting match? 😂 Anna is hilarious as he is!
Anything with Mike Row makes everything you learn fun
These two make an excellent team. So funny 🤣😆
These two are great together. I want to see more, and I will.

It was actually invented to listen to the hearts of females so the physician wouldn't have to put his ear on her breast.
Was it really? I thought it's for men's patient because it would be awkward if male patients' heartbeat race everytime a male doctor put his head on their chest.
*stares* *awkward blushing*
That’s neat.
"I'm sure the problem is with my heart, not your piece of rotating wood"
That killed me man hahaha
Who knew it would be so much fun to see and guess these items!
I can't stop watching this.
So cool 👍👍
These two are so funny
I want to see this as a series.

I could watch you two all day.

It would definitely be on my itinerary.
The Mutter Museum is wonderful. There are tons of great art galleries in Philly too if you're into that. The Bell, well... It's a big bell...
A Z Next time I”ll do my homework. Philadelphia seems to be great city with lots of things to visit.
Anna Its Nice To Meet you Thanks For Sharing all This Cool Stuff Thank You Also Mike Rowe
Found out about Mutter when I saw Jack and Ozzie Osbourne's visit there in their TV show "Jack & Ozzie's World Detour"
Omg I LOVE this sick burn 1:27

Why????😂😂😂😂
I hope this never end. On to the next 1.

They really should have made more programs together.
hahahaha god Mike! I love the commentary.
I feel like the two of them had a moment at 1:10 😍
Love it!

Ever try to listen to a budgie’s heartbeat? Like a thunderstorm in there 🤣
Mike is very funny
I got this one right!
It's obvious they took this conversation home after work.
Anna D. Is wonderful I love her at Caytlins vids
That high pitched squeal from that thing sounded like my cocka poo when he hurt his leg and you tried to touch him.

I shudder to think what the wooden thing might be, because, let us remember, you cannot disinfect WOOD!! But...go on!

i thought this was a spy glass or a kladiascope
I'm guessing you would pull the pieces apart to maintain professional distance.
I have known Mike Rowe since QVC and that weird marriage to Judy! I saw every episode of Dirty Jobs and Mike is a very funny man. Therefore get him on Caitlin's show! :-)
Mike has never been married. The weird marriage you are talking about was with another QVC host named Jeffery. “Thanks for the Jeffery”.

YES! I WAS RIGHT!
He said something like “eventually they all end up in the rectum”. Okaaaaay...
It comes apart for a clinician who may be sitting down.
😂🤣😂🤣🤣
The squeaking sound was hurting my cat's ear
Same here lol
My poor ears.
No mystery specimen :(
KMSL, Too heavy to be transported
😂🤣
Welcome to mike really doesn't want to be here .
Seems like that stethoscope isn't very effective. I bet it's actually so that the doctor didn't have to put his ear on a lady's chest.
Also in the 19th century Physicians would never have touched a woman's chest.
I can’t tell you who she didn’t vote for......
