I've listened to dozens of versions of "Milk Cow Blues" and I think Playboys version is the best. The right tempo, the right swing, perfect solos and vocals and still the gold standard for me.

First time I heard this was on my LP of Bob Wills when I was age 15, in ninth grade, 1976. I liked it but also thought it was funny.

This is known as, "bluegrass music". That's how this band, "The Bluegrass Boys" got their name. They're from Kentucky. Their big hit was, "Blue Moon of Kentucky".

@@custerranch Well, Western Swing began in Alabama in the mid 1980s. It's mostly brass like trumpets & trombones. Most of what Johnny Cash did is considered Western Swing.
