I often look at what I’m viewing and realize just how fast I forgot what I saw a few scrolls ago. shows what your brain really cares about.
Even watching tv or playing video games for the same amount of time that you scroll and watch mindless short form content is way better. Balance is key, but also remember to not waste your time on things you dont actually want.
Thank you for those two videos. It really helps.. I realized that often I tend to scroll when I’m dealing with an uncomfortable emotion, as a way to numb it out. And it means that when I decide to stop scrolling I kinda have to face it, so what I did was to allow myself this momentary brain/feeling break, but only when it is done consciously, only when I decided to and planned it. And the rest of the time I do other stuff, like tackling this emotion by some sort of action or enjoying my life.
I haven’t scrolled for almost three weeks now, and it feels like the days are longer haha! I have so much more time, and it’s refreshing to wake up every day without immediately grabbing my phone and scrolling mindlessly.
I noticed that it was getting out of control once I stopped watching movies, playing my favorite video game, etc. Those are typically considered unproductive, and yet I couldn’t even motivate myself to do the unproductive. I really want to spend this new year removing apps like instagram and tiktok out of my life completely. It’s hard, but seeing that you were able to do it gives me confidence.
I think that the whole point of scrolling is our enormous fear of missing out. We keep seeking for something that we don’t even know what it is for > hours < and that’s just the biggest problem with scrolling for me
I quit apps like instagram and tiktok a long time ago and thought highly of myself for only having youtube as a "social media app" on my phone...but last month I realized that when I open youtube, I go straight to youtube shorts...which is just like tiktok. Even if I watch longer form content, it isn't something that really entertains/helps me...I just watch it so I have a excuse to not work on the problems that matter (like school or conditioning for the sports that I play).
0:14 i made this my wallpaper some days ago
it’s an honor to be able to watch your videos, Tim
Thnk you for these videos and for sharing your tips how to stop scrolling. For me sometimes when I was exhausted or worried or sad because of something I thought : I will watch some shorts and maybe they will make me feel better. And the consequence of that was mostly that I felt worse and guilty of wasting some much time.
So thank you for this so much!😁 I feel that what you said is really helpful!
this vídeo is so important, more people should be aware of you're content.
For real, it has gotten so bad that i have to put my phone outside of my room whenever i do homework because i end up not focusing on the books but on the phone. And then i end up doing nothing until i lose all motivation to do the homework.
Thanks you 🙏
I love the sceneries in your videos
Around how much time on average do you spend overall on screens a day? Just curious
That fleece hoodie and sitting the grass tho looks comfy man
Where do you live? I love the scenarios
