Italy shuts down its entire country. Americans "It's all hype! Let's go to the most crowded tourists spots and wash our hands." I don't have a single friend that shares any concern for this.
me neither! My family or friends won't believe it. I am a lone voice in the wilderness. very frustrating and I'm stressed cause no one listens to me. I have a College degree in Biology so I understand the danger.
Some friends and family are taking it seriously. I've been scrubbing and sanitizing my elderly dads apt, phone, car, every 2 , 3 days. Forcing jim to wash his hands and face well, whenever he comes home as well. Hes a trump supporter, so it's a miracle hes listening to me at all. Not all Americans are idiots. ( I've typed that sentence so often recently, my tablet auto finishes the sentence on its own)
Susan Horton, I don’t have the degree but did three years in pre veterinary medicine, almost the same curriculum as pre med. lots and lots of microbiology. But everyone thinks they know more about it. They don’t understand exponential spread, mutations, or how to wash their hands. They don’t believe me about how nasty door knobs are. They also do not get the big differences in this and the flu. Don’t understand Rnaught, that this is novel, there is no immunity for it, and there won’t be a vaccine come April. They think the death rate is lower than the flu, which is not true, even with the lowest estimates, it’s much more deadly than the flu. I think all we can do is prepare ourselves best we can, preach to our immediate families as best we can, and hope for the best.
If you’re in the US & have either recently traveled to an infected zone, like Italy, have been in contact with someone infected, and/or displaying symptoms yourself, do not go to the ER. Call your local health department for information & instructions. You do not want to arrive at the ER & expose all staff with whom you come in contact.
Agreed. Check your state's department of health website to see if telemedicine is an option for you. Not to mention, lets say you came down with cold / flu, then went to ER, you might end up picking up covid-19 from there (co-infection with a different respiratory pathogen is very bad for covid-19).
Hi, I m writing from Milan. The italian death rate is motivated by the fact that in the last days in Italy the PCR-based test is used only for patients with symptoms and not for screening.. in the first week of COVID many people has been screened cause the infection was not so extended but even in that week for shure not all people without sympthoms were detected... so the real death rate is not 5% of infected.. of course the high number of dead and the unstoppable spread of infection is anguish most of us. The Chinese study (mortality per age) seems to be similar to what we see here (personal opinion, not confirmed by official info). Personal beaviours seems to be less effective than police restrictions. Thank you for your video and sorry for my bad English. Good bless you! Samuele
Thanks for you info, that's also what I expected. I guess the real cfr is between 0.5 and 1% (like 0.7 in Korea) Please be safe and don't panic, we Europeans wish all the best for our Italian friends. Greetings from Germany

Samu 89 see the South Korean data with 150k tested and a 5% false negative rate, the case fatality rate (unadjusted) could be as low as 0.2% (0.2-0.6) and that is not factoring those with the infection that weren’t tested. Your rates in Italy may be higher unadjusted for several reasons - i agree likely undertesting at the height Ciao e spero che voi siate bene !!
I'm in the US and a $700 Emergency room visit would be a pleasure. In past years I've received bills for thousands of dollars from a single visit. The ambulance ride alone could cost $700.
im in new york.....Mt sinai hospital billed me 20k for a blood transfusion. 20k for a fucking blood transfusion which should have taken 3 hours, they fucked up and they had me there ALL day billing me. These types of cases are silenced, youre ignored, and youre expected to pay! this is a setup for the USA healthcare system to make trillions off its population and not payout social security. Millions will die.
I hurt my back about 10 years ago and ended up having to go to the hospital they did some x-rays then decided they needed to do an MRI and then I ended up in surgery the next day ...well needless to say my hospital bill was well over the 15 to $20,000 range....
I confirm that the measures listed for Romania are true and are being followed. There are about 10,000 people who have returned from Italy and other affected countries and who are in home isolation. The authorities are doing random checks to see if they respect the isolation. Those who don't risk hefty fines. All confirmed cases so far have been investigated and followed through, testing all known contacts. There's still debate about church service - sensitive issue...
Bulgaria as well has stricter measures than any other west europe country so far.. schools are closed, events are canceled, buses are being sprayed and cleaned, people generally are more careful and stay at home (and we have only 4 CASES!).. I see a common thing around balkan/ east european countries, where both our societies and politicians can`t trust the health care system and we prefer to be scared and cautious than be sorry.. :D It will be interesting to see how it`s in Croatia or Hungary etc. .. :) *Another reason is the bigger consequences - most of Balkan countries have lower populations than city of Wuhan itself ( 11 million) :X
On the church services: masses via live internet streaming , online schools, distance learning. Your telecoms providers should help in these times. Nadya Miroslavova Consider yourself ‘lucky’. I live in the Netherlands with highly efficient healthcare. So people aren’t as worried as they should. I don’t think their are 50 extra available intensive care beds available in the country. So when we have 1000 infected patients we will be forced to make some very difficult decisions as to who will live and who won’t. People just aren’t aware of the severity of the situation in most wealthy western countries. None have the facilities to give IC to 1000s of new patients.
When I took my 13 year old daughter to the ER in December and was tested and positive for the flu my ER bill was almost $2000.00 and we have insurance! It's really just isn't fair when you work so hard and pay lots a money every month for health insurance and still have a bill like the one I got!
True. But what would happen if, for example, you needed a ventilator? I’m pretty sure that, in a couple of weeks’ time here in the UK, most of us over the age of, say, 40, who end up needing one will not be getting one as our NHS is so underfunded.
@@JK-hf2cx I'm afraid that it will be the same for Americans if not worse. If they let the epidemic spread without taking proactive measures, they too will have too many people burdening hospitals, and the fact that they have a great insurance plan or can pay out of pocket will make no difference if there are no available beds, ventilators, oxygen etc. If such people will not be able to get a bed, what do you reckon will happen to those without any insurance at all?

She recovered 4 days later and she is actually back to work... It seems like most people are actually having neumonia to a certain degree, just not severe. She got the mild version of the illness, yet she had neumonia.... Which makes sense seeing how the virus does its damage. Aparently, one of the problems of the virus is that it doesnt get straight into the cell, instead, it fusionates its membrane with the cell's as it releases its RNA inside of it, which means every infected cell has the proteins of the virus in its membrane, which makes them a target for the inmune system, so antibodies will attach to cells not only viruses and it is aparently one of the main reasons the lungs get full of fluids so fast, our own inmune system breaks those cells and the liquids get free...

I have heard through other sources that the WHO is not calling it a pandemic is due to financial concerns. There are Pandemic bonds or insurance certificates, and if The WHO declare a pandemic the corporations that sold these will take a huge financial hit so they are protecting these investors.
Correct, here you go www.euromoney.com/article/b1kp7x9mnxtvby/coronavirus-the-world-bank-should-care-that-the-public-does-not-understand-its-pandemic-bonds
Frank DeVries they are not calling it a pandemic because as soon as they do, people and governments tend to change their attitude towards the issue. They tend to stop fighting and trying to contain it, and WHO still believes it can be somewhat contained, or at least slowed down, which would buy time for the health systems to keep up with it. It is just a word. Does it really solve anything by calling it a pandemic anyhow? All it will do is cause more panic.

As an American: I absolutely agree with your assessment! As for avoiding treatment & testing: personally I feel as tho we've been conditioned to _only_ go to a Dr for illnesses that don't resolve on their own _and_ are severe enough to disrupt daily life more than just being inconvenient/annoying...and even then, it needs to be severe enough to be worth the cost. On top of that, many of us feel that if there's no treatment then there's no point in going to the Dr & stacking up bills just to be told to go home & wait it out.

I have the impression that some of the complacency is with younger folks who feel it does not apply to them. Like, it would be sad if Grandma dies but she is old. The scope of the problem has not been adequately explained to them. Also those who are scientifically challenged, most usually in the southern parts of the U.S. still believe that the virus is a conspiracy conceived by the Democrats to make Trump look bad. Mentally: Dr. Campbell has said that for 80% who test as infected, symptoms can be absent or feel like a mild cold or mild flu. He said 15% get seriously sick, and 5% become critically ill. Among the critically ill, medical teams have been able to save the lives of half. The 2 primary ways Covid-19 kills is through pneumonia and kidney failure. People with shortness of breath or 'rales' need to get to the doctor. Kidneys are just below the waist about half the distance between the spine and side. Aches there are suspicious. Most of the victims with kidney failure were the frail elderly. Very, very few cases have been younger than 40. Most cases have been over 50. If you aren't in a city, you may be quite safe. If I were in your circumstances and the news got really bad and you are in the USA, I'd check to see if Walmart would ship staple groceries to you free for orders over $50. They will kill you for what they need, brothers, sisters, church people, etc. Just keep quite. Good luck 🍀
The worst part now is that people are accusing those that have been preparing as "greedy stockpilers" when in reality prepared people have been doing this for a while because they realised the severity when others accused them of fear mongering

I knew it.. I work at a facility that repairs pumps and motors for wastewater treatment plants. So infection via contaminated equipment is a real threat.
Emergency room visits are rarely less than $1,000 here in the US. It's usually over $3,000 once you get the bills from all the individuals/doctors who may have glanced your way while there.
America is the embarassment of the demopcracy society and rotten to the core due to corporate Capitalism system. US citizen is so poor compare to the rest of OECD countries.
Thanks to the Italian doctors and nurses that risk their lives to try to save humanity! Most of them are incredible people. I can’t imagine how overwhelming it must be to work on these conditions

Dr Campbell I truly appreciate your work. I’ve been listening to you since the start (from the US - New Jersey) and it’s because of your work myself and my girlfriend have taken all necessary precautions to keep ourselves safe, but also prepared to self-isolate if necessary. Unfortunately for many of my friends and family they still are under the impression that this is going pass and it’s nothing to be concerned about. I’ll continue to spread your word. Stay safe and thank you so very much!
Correction - A visit to the ER in the US would cost WAYYYY MOREEEE THAN 700. Maybe its $700 copay if you have insurance. Most don't. More like 1,000 to 10,000
ER costs in the US vary so much depending on the area and the type of insurance you have. Also, how poor a person is ... I am just poor enough to have good coverage. If I hadn't worked as many years .... I'd be stuck in a hell hole of a wait (before pandemic). My best friend has more income and doesn't access some services because of the co-pays. Don't even try to understand US system if you are in another country.
@@APRILO1982 that price is just to poke your head in and say hello to an ED physician. To get actual testing and treatment, that costs thousands. Had an ED visit, followed by hospitalization for a hypertensive crisis. Billing fouled things up, so I actually saw the full ride bill. Could've paid a downpayment on a really nice house with significant property for that kind of money! The emergency department visit was insane enough, could've bought a car and had a few months of payments for that, the hospital bill as I said, could've paid in for an insanely expensive home.
The Governor of the State of Colorado in the United States just declared a State of Emergency this morning. The state is expanding testing. A drive up lab will soon open. A doctor's note will be required. That means skipping the expense of the Emergency Room for testing! A step in the right direction!
What is the current thinking about how this virus might affect the 10's of millions of people living with HIV? The thought of this hitting Africa in a meaningful way is terrifying.
Regarding South Korea: Do you think some of their low numbers could be related to them catching so many cases early? Most people who die from it do so three weeks or so later. I keep wondering if South Korea's CFR will still look so good in a few weeks.
dang! that cost for an ER visit is WAAAAAAY low! It cost me, in Omaha Nebraska, $1500 to walk thru emerg doors when I broke my ribs- just to walk in- no tests, no drugs, no xrays... this is why... americans ...wont...go...to...hospital...
Yeah and if you can't pay it they will still try to bill you for years and years after and some take action against your paycheck. The breakdown in Healthcare here has been on a downward spiral for years and there are many variables to it.
Medicare for all is looking a lot better nowadays. I don't know how people can be against universal healthcare, especially at a time like this. Any candidate/politician that doesn't support it is working against the people's best interests
I don't understand why people consider Bernie Sanders to be a socialist. Providing affordable healthcare for everyone shouldn't be seen as a radical idea.
It costs way more than $700 for a trip to the emergency room in the US. A study in 2017 put the average at $1389, but I suspect that is on the low end.
I am a nurse in the US, and I am concerned about the lack of and confusion regarding testing. On Sunday I assigned a pt who has bilateral pneumonia to a semi private initially, but after assessing him, I placed him in an private room but not on isolation. On Monday morning he was placed on isolation but when testing for COVID 19 was requested it was denied. As a healthcare provider I am not only concerned that we are not testing but we are sending people back out to the community. Thanks so much for the work you are doing to keep us informed.
I agree, I do not believe people are taking this seriously enough. I do wonder at this point what it is going to take to make people realise? I'm an epidemiologist and even my trying to explain the risk to people is met with disinterest at best.
So much for the 'in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king.' Personally, I am not worried about the sickness per see(If health system gets over whelmed then we will see near 15% CFR imo), its the logistic nightmare of just in time shipping rolling toward us with China Factories shut down for months, and I am sure India to follow.
I'm not an epidemiologist, just an ole respiratory technician, not working in the field, keeping up with verified case studies and I am met with the same.
Elizabeth Lucy and Heather Parker: Thank you so much for your work. I am so grateful to all the medical professionals working to see us through this. May you stay safe.
John, here in Reno, NV the Health Department has also set up the "Drive thru testing" that you spoke of in S. Korea. The Health Department does not charge for the test.
Here in Houston, they seem to be just ignoring how serious this is. I’m a middle school science teacher with 155 students and worried about going back to school on a Monday after Spring Break. My husband and I are in our 50,s. It’s my opinion that the leaders (local, state, and federal) are like ostrich’s with their head in the sand......no plan, no leadership, and in hiding.
Hey except me I've been isolating since Jan...1st...and slowly stocking up....I do agree with you one lady looked at me crazy 3 weeks ago when I was stocking up.
LR Hook In ALL school districts in a Houston, they have relaxed attendance guidelines for sick students. There are no cases linked to community spread in Houston, so what else can they do? There is no reason to close schools.
That's because the ER is emergency only (like a triage unit). We need to call our doctors or the nearest walk-in clinic when there is a problem. The cost at the ER is excessive because people use it just like the walk-ins + many never pay so it bumps up the price
Yep! My daughter fell very ill 7 years ago and spent 4 days at a university hospital. Prior to her admission to the hospital we had her to the ER 11 times before they took further action and referred her to the university hospital. The total accumulation of all her care was over $200,000 in a months time. Her current monthly meds are $12,000. +. If we didn't have good medical insurance we would be belly up!
@@bearrivermama6414 oh my goodness that sounds awful, not just the cost, but the stress of a loved one in devastating circumstances. I hope that both you and your daughter are doing better. Though, relying on 12,000 dollars a month of meds is stressful in itself. A chronic illness is life changing. ❤
Nancy Beveridge Taylor you are so kind! We are well and truly blessed to have good insurance. I often think of folks who don't have that blessing and feel so sad that if a terrible event hit they would be devastated! This whole thing that happened to my daughter happened because she got strep throat. The illness caused her immune system to go snare wire and start attacking her body. She has a very aggressive form of childhood rheumatoid arthritis now because a common illness triggered a malfunction in her immunity. We have been staying home and avoiding all interactions because even a little head cold causes her to flare and she is unable to walk and has lots of pain. So.... we are hanging out at home and enjoying our time together 😊

Mke Yankee suspicious is putting it mildly, reports compare it to a cross between SARS and HIV; vaccine unlikely given it's ability to hide itself and the fact that most types of coronavirus vaccine can't be tested on 99% of animals as the vaccine kills them.. So they'll probably have to stick with a cocktail of drugs like remdesivir with a retroviral treatment to inhibit viral replication, this will be for serious/critical cases all whilst they oxygenate the blood with an ECMO because the lungs are glued shut.. This stuff is nightmare fuel from what I can tell..stay safe and let's hope people start to take it seriously before it gets much worse
Dr John - I found your videos in January, and have been watching daily ever since. In early February I suggested to my wife who is a teacher, to go out and buy the large gallon sizes of hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes for her classroom - have the kids wash their hands upon entering, and wipe down their desk surfaces before leaving. Los Angeles Unified School District JUST mandated that all students must go to wash their hands at the begining of their first period classes. This is the kind of late response we have here in the US. If I thought it was a prudent move a month ago, what took health officials a month later to figure it out?
I agree, me ( just a layman with absolutely no medical training) have been 10 steps ahead of these bafoons who get paid big bucks to do their jobs... me just a little old mom of six, making way better judgment calls than all of these “ brilliant “ leaders.
I'm in the UK and have had a weird and intense respiratory infection for a week. No travel, no contact with a known case, so I wouldn't meet the current criteria for testing. Luckily I am in a position to self-isolate, which I have been doing since it started. I don't know if it's Covid-19, but the least I can do is keep out of circulation.
take vit c, zinc, black elderberry, pau darco. these help fight flu. high dose vit c. That is what I'm doing. Herbal anti-virals and garlic daily. vit d too. good luck.
Since this started I found it odd the spread and other variants, have been staying away from social events and be as proactive as possible , living in the U.K we should have gone further than the government measures so we took it upon ourselves to do it before they say . Good luck and stay safe
Coming from someone who lives in the United States. If you don’t have health insurance the cost of anything medical related is very high and an ER visit can cost way more than $700.
I have good insurance in the US and for all of my adult life (along with my children and husband) we avoid going to the ER. It is simply not economically feasible even with a good income and good insurance. One visit will cost thousands of dollars. In the almost 20 years we have been married we have gone to the ER once - when I had uncontrolled asthma for a prolonged period. Urgent care facilities are at least not as expensive. The US needs to roll out these tests and drop all the requirements to get one. It’s hard enough to get to a doctor here. Harder still to get one to take you seriously when you finally do! I am afraid of what the next few months will look like bc I don’t think our hospitals can handle it. I say this as a very proud American, but our healthcare is a serious problem.
Holy crap, you literally couldn't breathe properly and even then you waited to call an ambulance!?!? This is terrifying!! Yep, big problems coming to the USA, but there will be so many undiagnosed people spreading COVID19 everywhere!!
Hello, I never lived or had any experience in the US (living in UAE). And i just have to say, that seems very selfish of the Healthcare department or whoever governs it. We have a variety of Insurance over here which actually make us comfortable to go for related issues. I don't want to dive into numbers because that is personal info on the internet. I know Canada pay a heavy tax but benefit from free healthcare. The point in trying to get across is that people would avoid going to ERs and this is really bad in situations like yours. Illness could grow stronger inside someone and damage the body and affect your future or those around you. I don't mean to be negative and I wish to bless you and your family from anything harmful! Please look after one another :D
When hospitals can't handle it, triage kicks in. It is gonna be brutal and dog eats dog. The health care in the US has been always like a market, can hardly be called a syste . I can't think of any other civilized country that treats health care like merchandise, and the highest bidder gets it. (You could watch 2 PBS FRONTLINE documentaries: 1st. "Sick around the World," and 2nd. "Sick around America.") When epidemic hits, it's hard to imagine how those that are totally uninsured are gonna face it, along with so many homeless people who are already medicially impaired because malnutrition and physical suffering in the street. When S Korea is doing 10,000 tests per day, and China is doing 1.5 million tests per week, the CDC is still working on its flawed test kits while blaming China for not sharing data? It is almost like Pompeo and the director of CDC are accusing China for not letting them know what China cooks for dinner before the US can decides whether to do grocery shopping or finding the map in order to find out the location of the grocery shop. And let us not ask them what they are gonna cook for dinner, for it is simply too embarrassing and disgraceful. The menu is already there. The Chinese scientists uploaded the entire complete RNA genome thing of the virus 2 days after the outbreak of the virus to share with the scientists of the entire world. And Chinese scientists and clinicians published multiple number of research papers all the along, non-stop. Every other countries already have their respective test kits and are also working on vaccines. Yet the CDC and Mike Pompeo are still fixated on accusing China for not sharing data?
minxymissy1 too late unfortunately. The system is brilliant but abused and this will kill it if coronavirus doesn’t do it. You dare mention any sort of co payments to anyone in the UK and they go berserk because they believe their national insurance contributions cover it. Perhaps it did in the past but with modern medicine and facilities the system simply can’t cope any more.
First case in Louisiana presented at hospital ED on Friday, it took staff dealing with his respiratory problem - (suspected pneumonia) till Monday before they decided to test for coronavirus that has proved positive! Despite claims they have spent months training and exercising they clearly have not raised awareness of key critical staff in ED and hence an infected person has spent days infecting staff and other patients - completely unacceptable
Frannie Jennings Yes, I believe in the Veterans Hospital - just feel sorry for all the staff and patients who were needlessly exposed and potentially infected
@@justanaveragecitizen8705 the entire world has more than claimed. Unless everyone on earth is tested they will never know the full extent. I wouldn't be surprised if its been alover the world since December and because noone has known or been testing for it people will have died and be put down to just pneumonia/ARDS.
A friend of my brothers who is a teacher based in the US says the same thing. He is planning to work and teach his students remotely, given that 5 cases of CV popped up in his area recently. Learning to work remotely from home is a good choice - a large number of firms in Asia are now doing this already (until this whole thing blows over).
In my company, we did that last Monday. We found weak links and fixed them. Half of our teams are already working at home this week and I'm starting working at home next week. I'm from Slovenia, which is Italy's eastern neighbor. We have 30+ who tested positive so far.
Living in the US, Washington specifically, I can confirm that most people avoid any an all healthcare if they can help it. I'm among them. I can barely afford the $50 to pay my phone bill every month, there's no way I can afford a $700+ visit to the ER just for tests to come back that I have a bad flu case. It's just the reality of things here.
I went to a doctor in the U.S. (a large infected city) last month and was seen by the P.A. I asked him what he thought of Coronavirus. His answer was, I know nothing about it. I was floored. That same day, I was wearing a mask to Costco. Some loud mouth a-hole woman yells to me in front of a crowd of people, excuse me, are you wearing that mask because of CV and was laughing at me...(I have bronchitis & fit the "vulnerable" classification.) I was a bit humiliated and completely caught off-guard. I said, not necessarily... I'm afraid these people will be infecting a lot of innocent people...we're in trouble.
Believe 3.0 Don’t worry about others opinions. I’d keep wearing the mask, eat super healthy and take zinc, oregano and/or vitamin d daily. You are quite vulnerable at least you know that and are acting accordingly. Please forward the P.A. Proper Covid 19 info.

Here in Colorado the governor has set up a drive through testing facility in Denver but it requires a note from your DR to be tested. Which means if previous testing is required like flu viruses etc, the corona virus tests may not be requested depending on personal health insurance.
It would be really interesting if you updated us on the spread of the “s-type” and “L-type” in different countries. And if that might be one of the reasons for different death rates in different countries. Thank you for the daily updates!
I've been wondering about this also!! I can't think of any other reason Italy and Iran are so badly affected right now but have yet to hear more about these strains
Dr. John, yours is the first coronavirus-related video I watch every morning. Thank you so much for your dedication. I can help you out with the source of "of the people, by the people and for the people." It comes from the preamble of the US Constitution and was written by James Madison. :-)
Colorado, in the US, is implementing a drive through if you are referred by a doctor. They reported our state has 1,500 tests right now. I’m a teacher and they have not informed educators of any protocols in my school or district, that I’m aware of. Emergency visit depends on your insurance. It’s realistic to be in the hundreds or thousands for an ER visit for many.
I work as an Emergency medical technician in the US, though I am also an REgistered nurse. I have to tell you that a heck of a lot of emts think that it’s nothing to worry about. It’s sad.
If they are fairly young without pre-existing conditions, they are fine. HOWEVER, they can get it and be asymptomatic and pass it to someone where it can be deadly. Surprised that EMTs are not taking that seriously.
Please suggest watching RUclips news for the uninformed ! I have been watching since December 2019 when the Chinese doctor warned everyone about the virus and he died!
American here, I already pay over $1000/ month for my health insurance. If I walk into an emergency room, there is a base rate $750 charge plus anything else they do. Even if the covid-19 test is free, one will come out with a huge bill. I am a nurse and I can barely afford my healthcare. That situation alone almost scares me as much as the virus. Yes, the response here has been appalling. Very few are taking it seriously, or will publicly admit to taking it seriously. Also, it is highly politicized along party lines.
@Skinny Bones Jones more than half. It's horrible. I keep trying to get my wife to move. Canada, Norway, Finland. Somewhere where we aren't treated like rats.
I refuse to have insurance for that reason, it is designed to bankrupt. One stay overnight 5 years ago convinced me to unplug. The hospital billed for $30,000.00, by the time I received doctor bills, lab bills, etc, I could have paid for a brand new luxury automobile. Offering cash brought it down to $5,000.00, 90% off the rest.
USA ER visit, $400-$1500 depending on where in the country you are. That # is just for the visit. Medication, treatment, and testing for other things(like nCoV), would be additional fees.
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: One confirmed case in the iconic AT&T building downtown. They closed the building for cleaning but reopened in 6 hours. It takes longer than that to clean the restrooms. The building is now open to the public. I suggest that miracle cleaning crew be sent to Italy. They’d have the entire country clean in 2 days 🤣
Was it confirmed? A friend sent me an article that said a (seemingly anonymous) note had been posted that there was a sick person that worked at the building and that it should be cleaned. That sounded like a prank to me; if the government or health system is doing contact tracing (which they're supposed to be doing), they should have notified AT&T directly. But I did notice that our case count had risen to 4 today.
Keri M. Peardon To clarify, AT&T Is just the name of the building. They are no longer there. The building is leased out to other tenants. The building management placed the notice on the door.
@@crafthag6736 AT&T abandoned the bat building? Who gets the call to send out the bat signal now? What if the red hotline phone isn't working? Who will repair it? This is why there's chaos!

The italian death rate is motivated by the fact that in the last days in Italy the PCR-based test is used only for patients with symptoms and not for screening.. in the first week of COVID many people has been screened cause the infection was not so extended but even in that week for shure not all people without sympthoms were detected... so the real death rate is not 5% of infected.. of course the high number of dead and the unstoppable spread

Random checks, they are doing better than a lot of countries. But not a full proof system.
It's got to be almost too late here in the United States. There's absolutely nothing being done to prevent this from spreading here in Oregon!
Just claim to be a immigrant from South of the Border or the Middle East and they'll fix you up with some top-notch medical care for free comrade you see your problem is you're actually working for what you have instead of demanding free stuff from people who do

@@eternalhistory4706 Actually, you have a big chance of neumonia, mild neumonia to call it something. I saw about a case of a chinese nurse, she was 23, she got it, she got the lung scans and they showed neumonia, but she never developed the severe illness.
They need more Heath ministers as they are dying off quickly..

Looking at the current stock markets i don't think it even matters anymore, investors around the world are all pulling out.
All the more reason to call it a pandemic now!

"The UN funding has been released to the WHO and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). It will fund essential activities including monitoring the spread of the virus, investigating cases, and the operation of national laboratories.
The WHO has called for US$675 million to fund the fight against coronavirus. There is a window of opportunity to contain the spread of the virus if countries take robust measures to detect cases early, isolate and care for patients, and trace contacts.
Emergency Relief Coordinator and Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Mark Lowcock said: “We do not yet see evidence that the virus is spreading freely. As long as that’s the case, we still have a chance of containing it."

They won't even give you a COVID-19 test here in Massachusetts -- where the number of cases has tripled in 24hrs -- unless you submit to a full viral panel, which costs nearly $1000 alone, and then IF you get those tests back (negative), the COVID-19 test takes 24hrs to get results. The situation here in "The Greatest Country on Earth" is not great by any means.
@@jackherer5493 I really don't think that's the case. There are a million ways to exploit people; a pandemic isn't one of the logical ways to go about doing so. It's not a global conspiracy. That's tin foil hat thinking.

Oh, my goodness, a single visit to the ER can cost in the thousands of dollars. Easily.
I'm concerned as I am about the virus, I'm terrified of having to pay for a month in an ICU.

In the US, the CEOs of Health Insurance Companies pay themselves $80 million a year.
Coming from someone who lives in the United States. If you don’t have health insurance the cost of anything medical related is very high and an ER visit can cost way more than $700.
700$ --- I spent 2 years paying $4000 for a 2 hour long hospital stay.
This.
"Sick around America.")
When epidemic hits, it's hard to imagine how those that are totally uninsured are gonna face it, along with so many homeless people who are already medicially impaired because malnutrition and physical suffering in the street.
Canada still doesn’t seem to take it too serious. That’s very concerning

Thank you dr. you are really doing a great service to humanity. The way you explain things are by far much better than how things here in Australia are explained.
Still a big St Patrick's Day parade planed for my city here on the southeast coast of the USA for this coming Saturday - last Saturday we had a marathon that drew thousands to the area. This is a tourist mecca on the coast - the mayor said on TV today, "we don't have covid19 here so if you are well come on down"!!! (my state has tested less than 20 people - at least 9 are positive).
D Smith I pray for you guys. I hear official today on NPR, sounds like they don’t want to cancel but really should.
@@janiem80yt Oh wow, great article. Eerily similar. Also would like to add that the mortality rate for the Spanish Flu was 2%, with less people on the planet versus todays population.
People are finally opening their eyes to see how their government values their lives.
Governments do value life but value money more.....
No - gov values life only in so much that it creates money.
We are walking debt machine cash bags. They won’t care until their walking cash bags are unable to perform their worker bee duties anymore. Then they will have to value our lives or their walking cash bags will go up in flames. Pretty much literally.
Governments don't value lives. They value the fact that an alive person can pay taxes. That's all. It's purely money-centric.
That was always the case. Our government is bought out by the ELITES and corporations.
Well, sure. Killing off a bunch of older Americans who are not contributing to the economy would be a master stroke. I can readily see Wilbur Ross saying that.
My father is now watching your every video! Trying to get more and more to notice you! Thanks doctor!
I wish mine would.
Best way to fight this is good information. You can't order people to act in the right way, they have to understand why.
@@nanakeyks you're right. My dad hung up on me last night. He's over 70. A smoker. And has stage 2 colon cancer. For my dad, this is fatal. But he believes the American news, which is lying beyond the scope of lies. So, I sent this video to his British wife. I told her since they're both at risk and dad is at extreme risk, maybe she can reach him. Probably not, she's an airhead, but it was worth a try. I did what I could. I am thankful my mother is paying attention. She's been sequestered for two weeks in her apartment and stocked to stay in place 30 more days. When I visit her, I decontaminate with Lysol, wear a mask and gloves, and keep my distance. She's on oxygen (a former smoker) and has underlying health problems. I am grateful she's paying attention and doesn't call me "a psycho nutjob" like my father does.
You're doing good work, trying to spread the good doctor's informative videos. Thank you.
:D I smiled and giggled as soon as the video starts:
"Welcome morning everyone you are most welcome. " said Dr. Campbell without a pause.
'Well, good morning everyone, you are most welcome'?
Thank you so, so, so, much. You help me keep my sanity in all of this.
