Formed in 1960 in Liverpool, England, The Beatles went on to become one of the biggest (if not, THE biggest) rock band in the world. As the Fab Four, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr conquered the world with Beatlemania and launched the British invasion of North America. They've had countless hit singles and many of their albums are considered some of the best in musical history; as such, The Beatles' influence on pop culture is immeasurable and one that will undoubtedly prevail for decades to come. In this www.WatchMojo.com video, we take a look at the history of The Beatles.
George is so unbelievably underrated.
Lucas Falla YESS I LOVE HIM 💚
The Beatles had the coolest accents, the best sense of humour, oh and did i mention the music ? I made an amateur Beatles sketch, if anyone wants to see it after .. then simply type in the following title in to the search bar above.....'Beatles sketch with snippets'
George Harrison was far from underrated
BRACKETS
He’s my favourite Beatle
It saddens me that George was so underrated. Here Comes the Sun was one of their greatest songs and just one of the best songs ever made, period. The Beatles will forever be legends.
Yes, I agree with you.
Fantastic, three persons! -- in one group! created classics!
And something happened 1968. In marsh 1968 I heard Harrison´s The Inner Light the first time. I was astonished. A song on Lennon´s level! After that came: Only A Northern Song, It´s all Too Much, Something, Here Comes the Sun and I Me Mine. All these better than McCartney´s.
And don´t forget Harrison´s Think For Yourself in the Rubber Soul album 1965. This song and Lennon´s Girl, are the best songs in that album, for me.

The Beatles did indeed have 3 great composers but they also had George Martin producing. The Beach Boys had Brian Wilson, that's it. Wilson wrote, arranged, performed and produced all their great hits of the 60s. Sure, he had help with lyrics but McCartney said you create a wonderful melody and "throw" some lyrics on top and you got him.
From Pet Sounds here's 'You Still Believe In Me'. Wilson had help with this but that help was not of this earth.
ruclips.net/video/lSoM2sJ4N1M/видео.html
By the way, it is Brian Wilson on lead vocals and bobby pins, (used to pluck the strings of a piano).
While my guitar gently weeps is his best song...
Beatles are great singers and always will be to me.
His greatest song is Something stop playing.
And they became the best rock band in the history of ever
Basically
And then UMG_MK became the Beatles' Donald Trump!
"There are two types of musicians in the world; The ones who were influenced by the Beatles, and the ones that lie about it."
Griffin Gryphon nice
Chicken Sandwich stfu you just dont know who the beatles are and they have a freakin rock songs dont talk like that if you dont know anything
They forgot to mention the most important fact. That they are considered the most successful, influential, diverse, creative, and greatest band of ALL TIME. DUHGH
Inky Hip they are not considered great...
they are the greatest, most important, most diverse, most creative artists that ever has lived and always will be
Inky Hip dam right, hell they're imagine dragons's favorite band
They would be, if Led Zeppelin never existed
@@zumis1011 Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are #2.
@@user-ip5xn9ks9k Led Zeppelin, then Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, then The Beatles.

@@Logan_Elkins actually 14 they started in 1956
As the quarrymen
We were just a band that made it really really big.
-John Lennon
greatest band of all time... no competition (and A Day in the Life is the greatest song ever)
Bo Do you are correct for my opinion
You might well be right about A Day In The Life, but the Rolling Stones absolutely were competitive with them.
Putther very funny ha ha
tomorrow never knows is the greatest song ever in my opinion. The first ever psychedelic track recording. The lyrics are awesome. What more could you want from a song.
The Beatles are indeed a good band, but Led Zeppelin is definetely the best rock band of all time
When Lennon said that Beatles were more popular than Jesus, he didn't think that they were greater than god or something. I think what he was trying to say was that at that time on the hight of Beatlemania, there were more people screaming after the Beatles, than there were people screaming after Jesus.
yes that's exactly what he meant! and people got all bat shit crazy overdramatic
nah, his intention was clearly to mock religion, Lennon apparently had a fixation with that as you can clearly notice in a lot of his songs
marinlini I also see that happening with artist today. Like kanye west saying that he is god. i dont really support that but he does lots of followers like a religion.
The Beatles ARE greater than Jesus.
Realbillball yes beatle is most popular than Jesus Krishna etc
Wow, way to put Harrison down. Specially on the part where "by this time Lennon and McCartney started putting solo songs out", Harrison did that first and had more success...
Yes, he did 'My sweet lord' and it was a hit.
+Hippie Guy McCartney published "McCarney" in 1970.. Performed and written completely by himself.
Of course Harrison was very under-rated. But that's only because he was not as egomaniac as Lennon and McCartney and because, in fact, John and Paul was a lil bit higher than him.. It's a fact that the biggest, greatest ideas came from them, and the most beautiful songs was written by those two, and that are all so magically beautiful, almost divine.. but Harrison, at the same time, wrote tons of beautiful songs too. So definitely he was a big part of the group and The Beatles wouldn't be the same without him. And who knows, if they let him more space and chances..
Harrison was my personal favorite, he was magical on the guitar
+Hippie Guy Harrison had the best selling album of any "Bealte"
He had the biggest solo album out of all 4 of The Beatles even beating John Lennon's "Imagine"
My grandfather was a friend of the group in the early years, before all the fame. Long story short I received a signed guitar, signed by John Lennon, and the rest of the group as a wedding gift from my grandparents. The guitar was played at a concert, it was documented and verified. Unfortunately the guitar was stolen after my house was broken into and the guitar was never recovered. I never had the guitar appraised for a dollar value but can only imagine how much it would be worth now.
Oof

I wish i was born and living on golden age of rock music. Beatles and other great bands and artists such as Jimi Hendrix were amazing and they shaped world of music.
Other than the music it was an awful time to be alive
Um, where is Harrison on those solo careers? He was the first one of the four to have a number one hit and album
Ringo did some awesome music too just as good as Paul George and John
True, George was the first of them with a succesfull solo career
The Beatles were one of the most important rock bands ever . Never before… And never again .
The most important.
I dare u make top ten Beatles songs

They did already. It's not on RUclips, but it is on watchmojo's website.
That's more controversial than Trump
Md Hishaam Akhtar #1 would be almost every Beatles song
I am German and fouteen years old and I love the beatles.
I think there are bands who wrote better songs and althoug most of their songs were not as fast as I prefer it, all of them are unbelievable catchy. My music teacher told me " Franz Schubert died aged round about 35. He was one of the most important musician of his time, you can compare him with Beethoven or Mozart. Schubert wrote 800 hundred different songs 600 were great, 100 were on a really high Level and about 80 were good enough to stay in your mind for ever. But the Beatles played 10 years, maybe 8 of them efficient, they wrote so many different songs and there is no song on any album which hasnt a certain melody which stays in your mind forever."
fhchjg hfjfgz I salute you, I'm 14 too
I'm a Beatle fan since 2018 and now I turned 15 I'm still loving the band
How much longer until we get that Top 10 Beatles Song list?

The Beatles are simply a phenomenon that we cannot comprehend
Undoubtedly The Beatles (Rock band) are one of my most favourite music artists / musicians of all time. A Die hard Beatles fan. The Fab Four rocks !!!!!!!
Same they are one of my fave. My No 1 artist is Michael Jackson. Who Paul done a song with called say say say
I'm just glad that kids these days still love the Beatles and know there a good band.🙂 ( including me. There my favorite band)
Love the way John stood in front of the microphone in the early days...feet apart, knees slightly bent, gently bouncing up and down :- ). I would love to know the inspiration for the songs written later in their career. In the video I gathered that "Strawberry Fields" was written about something far more.... the strawberries up against the wall with the red fluid dripping down....
that's a scene from Across The Universe
I like how she did a terrible job as this. She doesn't even mention that Dylan turned The Beatles on pot and that The Beatles gave up touring in 1966 and didn't play a single concert until a rooftop in 1969.
+donaldrocks101103 -_- That's sad :C

The vid is only seven minutes long. I thought they did a good job summarizing the whole.
Please never make a top ten beatles songs playlist because you can't put all these great songs in one list and there are too many awesome songs to pick a nr1... :D
They did, on watchmojo.com exclusively. #1 was Hey Jude
ooooh come on
brickblaster76 hey jude isnt their best piece. it's a day in the life
Vaxtin hey jude is their most recognized and commercially successful track, which is all watchmojo cares about when making these lists
***** IMO saying "na na" for 5 minutes straight isn't "Beatles" worthy since it's repetitive. It's a lot like the music of today, having one good verse and overusing it.

They wrote some of the best damn music I ever heard. To me they were the best of the best.
I think they passed the audition.
ohmygod i love them so much. they were and are so amazing
What surprises me is that.. They knew they were falling apart and wouldn't be together for much longer after the Let it be / Get back sessions.. And yet still went on to produce probably their best and tightest album Abbey Road.. You would think as they had got it together and and made a stonking album it would have pulled them back together... I could have understood it if Let it be was their last recorded album and then calling it a day but to knock out Abbey Road proved they were still a tight band and at their best
You're right. Actually, I would say The Beatles is the only band and maybe even the only music act that remained at the top of its game from the first album to the last one. They didn't become big. They were big from day one. Their first single became a number one hit so as the last one. That's mind blowing.

Not Lennon's fault that they were actually more popular than Jesus lol
Tommy Meyer they can’t be more famous than Jesus because you can’t be more than God because God and Jesus are in all of us
If he came back from the dead, why did he die again? Why not just stay alive? It's clearly nonsense.
If jesus and god are in all of us then John lennon is the same as jesus and god as is all of us.

I enjoyed this video
The Beatles were simply astonishing for the whole time they were together. Their producer George Martin deserves a lot of credit for the high quality of their output and their manager Brian Epstein for their early success. I weep for the banality of today's over-produced Auto-Tuned choreographed big-ego stars who can't sing in a group, play an instrument, or write their own melodies and lyrics. I dunno; maybe the pop-rock genre is finally burned out; it must be terribly difficult to come up with a riff or tune these days without being sued for plagiarism, thus the popularity of rap.
