- We have left for our first destination!
We started from Delhi and arrived in Copenhagen, only to find that budget accommodations only offer 108 ft² of space! Haha! Tanya broke her camera's mic, Eshan found a Lego store and ended up buying a Lego Bat mobile without knowing when he will finally have a home to display it in, and overall, the journey started off with a bit of nostalgia.
The only silver lining, nay green lining, was the northern lights displaying their best colours deep in the forests of Finland. To know what happened since you last heard from us, tune in to episode 2 of The ET Show!
A little background about us, I’m Tanya Khanijow, a travel content creator with an experience in this field of 5 years.
And I’m Eshan Joshi, a travel marketeer who was heading marketing at Zostel, for the last 5 years. I’m currently on a prolonged leave from work. And travelling with Tanya

We talked about it briefly during the podcast and then edited it out because the duration was too long. The reason is, because we both believe in best quality. And somehow feel we should put on your best work out.

Hey tanya and eshan! Congratulations on your engagement! Was really excited to see this episode of your podcast. It was very informative and has put watching the northern lights on my bucket list. Just some feedback from my side - it would be a better viewing experience if there was a definite flow to the podcast which would also allow you to put in timestamps and display details, the length of the podcast also can be trimmed to around 20 mins in my opinion ! I am sure you probably already know these things but due to obvious challenges you encounter while podcasting on the move you haven't been able to incorporate them yet. Looking forward to your next episode :)

I am also planning to travel to Helsinki in September this year to witness nature's greatest phenomenon the northern lights.
According to you what's the perfect month when aurora is at its peak
Any dos and don'ts you want to highlight?
September will not be the best month. You need maximum darkness to see them so most suitable would be no moon nights and no clouds/snow. Ideal months would be Feb/March/April
Yes Harsh is right. We chose March because it is a shoulder season with lesser inbound travellers and also the aurora activity is great!
@@the_et_show I was able to see the Northern Light, a couple of polar bears in the arctic zoo near Rovaniemi, husky ride and an unplanned trip on an Ice breaker ship near Kemi in March 2019. Your blog reminded me of the trip. Watching Northern lights is a surreal experience because you cannot imagine it or even feel it from insta reels. I would suggest to add more information about the country/place along with any Indian connection about the country in your future blogs. Finland has a sizable Indian and Nepalese population with plenty of Indian and Nepali restaurants in Helsinki and other cities. Also one coincidence is that the translation of 'country' in Finnish is 'Maa'. Thanks for the nice blog.
Dec - Jan -> Chinese tourists who visit Finland for oxygen tourism.
Feb -> ski holiday season
March -> less crowded and good chances to see, best would be to book a snow mobile tour (like E&T did) as driving on snow in night is very risky if you don't have experience
April -> less crowded but less chances as spring starts and it will start getting less darker every day
