I've recently discovered I have ancestors who came from Minster, going back maybe three hundred years or more. Some of them were fishermen. Quite proud of this... 🙂
I know its easy to look back with rose tinted specs but i wonder how many of those people in the old pics would be horrified at how life has turned out ( despite us having cars , tv's , washing machines etc ) ???
Given they live longer, have better health-care and child mortality rates have dropped since 'them days' I reckon they feel thankful for those benefits. Perhaps you would feel better in them there good old days when you could set up a factory making children's nightdresses from a petrol by-product and no one, and I mean NO ONE , could ever demand you make them from fireproof materiel instead. I mean its up to the parents to stop them burning to death innit? 'elf & safety has ruined the country, .......immigrants, ... always leave your front door open, .............bread and dripping, .....an orange for Christmas.......we were 'appy.........
