It was the writers who were best at the wordplay, regardless of who spoke it on the show. Don't attribute clever dialogue to the characters. They don't exist.
@@waynemarvin5661 Wow, now is that really true, Niles and Frasier are not real people and are not coming up with their dialogue by themselves?! Thank god you cleared that up for Jennifer and all us other comment readers.

Frasier ordered intelligent toys for Fredrick for Christmas, including a life-size model of the human brain. Unfortunately they were shipped to Franklin Crane of Kennebunkport. Fraisier: "Do you know what this means?" Niles: "Yes. The Cranes of Maine have got your Living Brain". One of my favorites because the setup isn't very obvious
I know this might not fit but my favourite Frasier line is when Woody comes and they go to Kareoke and Frasier describes the evening saying ' 'Gil and Bulldog started singing anything you can do I can do better. Both were wrong'
Very nice. I would have added a few more like: [Frasier is trying to justify the big, big screen TV he bought for their father to one-up Niles] Frasier: Where you see an eyesore, I see a picture window to a world of art and culture. Just think how a screen this size will enhance the majesty of the Metropolitan Opera. Or the thrilling artists of the Bolshoi! Niles: You're quite a Bolshoi artist yourself. ----- [Niles is telling Frasier about an award he has won] Frasier: What case did you win for? Niles: A gripping tale of a narcissistic opera singer. I called it "Me Me Me Me Me"
I am so glad Kelsey Grammer cut his hair after season 2, he was looking kinda of shaggy. This is a funny show. Fraiser and Niles were so funny neither could solve their own issues and were trying to solve other peoples issues

Just 2 thoughts. I’m actually surprised they wrote the Crane boys’ puns the way they did. I do enjoy them all, but I’m almost surprised because most of their punning produces cute but not especially erudite puns. Also, #2, I just now happened to see an error at least in the subtitles for this pun #8 in this clip of 15. The word misspelled twice is the composer’s name, HANDEL. The Cranes obviously knew exactly the correct spellings, which is what makes it a very good worthy pun or wordplay, but the subtitle for this pun misspells 2 of the words used in the pun.
I'm a native English speaker and I'm quite literate, and I actually appreciate the subs for a lot of these due to the word play involved, and the occasional use of foreign language (mais oui).
I truly could never decide whether Niles or Frasier was better at the word play…I just consider it double the brilliance 🤣

Niles was best In My humble opinion
They're both terrible...that's the joke. The whole point is that both are smug, insecure and not as clever as they think they are
That "So many faults", line to Lillith was my favorite on this list. That was a good one. 👍🏾
It was one of the best.
"Euripides, Eumenides" wahahahahaha!!! 😆😆😆
"You rip these, you mend these."
When Daphne tries her American
“I don’t know what to do about my R’s”
“Try hauling it out of here.”
That's my fave too!
For me it's "you're certainly trying this American"
One could always rely on this show to produce a great turn of phraser.
You almost got away with that!
👏 👏 👏
Brilliant!
Frasier and Niles laughing at their own puns is just charming to me.
Euripides Eumenidis,,,,Frazier is so tickled by himself. 😆
"When it comes to an ugly image, you can't beat a dead horse"
I was a naïve young teen watching this show, and those lines totally flew over my head.
They still fly over mine. Is that from some phrase?
@@juha2031 It's a play on the expression "Beating (or flogging) a dead horse". Which means to carry on about something that has either long since been resolved or is simply a waste of time. Hope this helps!
The line is only half. The delivery was absolutely perfect
The subtitles could do with some revision: "Two tickets to the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. . . . Nobody handles Handel like they handle Handel."
Hey, it could be the Orphan’s Chamber Orchestra. Certainly that makes it a slightly more depressing joke, but still.

The delivery of that whole monologue is fantastic. Possibly my favourite in the entire show
It was actually Gil and Noel who sang that. Not long after Woody sang What Kind Of Fool Am I?
Niles: fill me in on your date tomorrow
Frasier: you’ll get a full debriefing, as hopefully will I! (Chuckles to himself)
James Bond
