    eBay .. 2pack Manuchi actuator motor . 20mm log with a “D” shaft ..

    • @errolheadful

      Does it have to be the 20mm or can i get away with the 10mm?

    • @tonymanriquez4796

      errolheadful it has to be 20 mm . The shaft would be to short and not spin the gears to engage the lock..

    I was having issues locking the driver door. It would half lock then unlock on it's own. The motor I bought had no slot on the shaft, but it was nothing a file and some time couldn't fix. Saved a good chunk of change because of this video, much appreciated.

    Thank you for an outstanding video. I took my door panel off this past weekend( with no small difficulty) and upon seeing that the rear door opened with a motor and not mechanically was ready to pay to have it fixed. When I got to the point of the video that mentioned the child safety lock I realized I’m a big dumb animal. The door opens just fine from the inside now. Aside from that. You really made a thorough, easy to follow, directorial. Thank you. Now if you only made one for my rear window not going up. Goes down just fine from the rear passenger seat, but only goes up from the drivers door control. Again. GREAT JOB!! Thanks

    Hi Tony! Just wanted to say "Thank You" for the great video. Did this today on my son's 2012 Tacoma with 85K on it, and the new motors work like a charm! Why pay $350 + labor (per door) when it can be done for about $5 per door, with a little sweat-equity! Got my motors on Amazon in 2 days, and back-in-business! Really appreciate your comprehensive video and especially your "things to watch out for" for a successful install. Many thanks and keep up the amazing work!

    Tony, Thank you for your video. after watching other videos I was scared to attempt making the repairs myself. after watching your video I decided to give it a try and have successfully fixed two out of three doors that needed to be replaced. You need to create a different video for the front doors. if you haven't already... Thanks again. you've saved me a $1000 so far. Tomorrow I finish.

    Thank you so much for the video helped me a lot
    I disassembled the mechanism thanks to you
    I have Yaris 2012 and it's the same mechanism
    I did not buy a new engine
    I renovated what was already inside
    There was a lot of dirt I just cleaned with carburetor spray
    And everything went back to work as usual
    Thank you very much very much without your video I would not have been able to disassemble the mechanism and return it to its original state

    Nice video! Just went through this process on my 2004 4-Runner. Rather than replacing the motor, I disassembled the casing from the motor and cleaned the contacts with some brake cleaner and compressed air as a good amount of residue had built up over the years. Lightly coated moving parts with WD-40 with fingertips. You can try testing on a 9volt battery before reassembling to see if the motor functions properly. Good as new.

      Be very careful when you split the case, real slow otherwise your day just became a lot harder. I removed the lower window frame vs working around it, only a minute and two 10mm bolts. I kept strict control of the top cover when unlatching the clips. Also, you do not need to remove the cables from the door handle, remove Phillips screw, slide door handle assembly back and remove all as one unit. With the rear lower window frame removed, much easier to work inside the door. Great video, will get you success

    awesome video instruction. My 2011 Tacoma has a different symptom. The doors lock but the manual lever on the drivers side does not move. In other words, if I use the fob to lock the doors, they lock. But the door lever never moves. I can move the lever back and forth but the actuator won't move it.
    I removed the door panel and the linkage is connected to the lever.
    I haven't checked it at the actuator though.

      Tony Manriquez yep haha ive already been through all the comments and various scenarios ! You can actually test the door without closing it by actuating the locking clasp with the door open using a screwdriver and then you lock it , pull up on the exterior handle and see if it unlocks , all with the door still open .

    • @traviserlston6563
      @traviserlston6563 6 лет назад +1

      Jeff Abbott the front motor housings are completely diffrent from the back , and look a bit more complicated , there are internals that need to be removed when the clamshell is opened , the video i found on those looks a bit more complicated than i was comfortable with so i ordered replacement parts from amazon and will replace the whole unit on either side . The backs were exactly like this video and went very smoothly .

I have read a few posts where people have had to destroy the actuator to get the door open. I have ordered a new actuator unit but want to make sure I do not damage anything else in the process. Do you have any ideas about this?

  • @vicferrari4046

      I think that they are all the same ! It’s best to know just by checking on line . It’s one of 2 types 20mm “D” shaft or round shaft. It also could be 10mm round or “D” shaft . I would bet it is the 20mm “D”shaft . And you could just order the both 20 mm and 10 mm and just return

    Tony, that is the best how to video I've seen. Thanks for taking the time to make it. It is so good I hate to admit I'm having an issue. The whole process went great. Our issue is the lock we've replaced the motor on is now reversed from the other three. Seems like we've triple checked everything. We can't get the lock to sync up with the rest. Any ideas?

      Glad to hear you liked the video. I jave not heard of this problem only because the motor can only go in 1 way. So you might try these 2 things .
      #1. Take the battery out of the remote this might reset.
      #2. Disconnect the car battery this too might also reset thr system ... here is my e-mail if needed.

    Tony, How did you know it was the motor that needed to be replaced? I have a 2006 Tacoma. Three doors are not unlocking. When I push the button on the key fob or the button on the door to lock or unllock, I can hear something moving but the doors do not unlock every time. They unlock/lock occasionally but not every time. Any idea what I might have wrong? I hope my fix is as easy as what you have done. The dealership has quoted me $1,600 to fix the three doors. Thank you for the video and any help you can give at all.

      Did you change the actuator motor and this way it’s happening or did it just start happening. It could be your child safety lock if it got flipped by accident I would check that first. Or if you did change the actuator motor, you might not have attached all the components.

I have a 2012 Tacoma and all of the locks work fine except for one rear door that will unlock (with the electric lock) but will not lock unless I manually flip the lock on that door. Any advice would be helpful, thank you again.

    • @tonymanriquez4796
      @tonymanriquez4796  4 года назад

      Vic Ferrari sorry to hear about what happened. The other thing you can do is unbolt the door from the hinge and then remove the panel and get to the lock that way but you might need another person to help hold the door . I got it by myself but it was a struggle. Don’t mess with the clam shell all you need to do is get the latch to open and you shoybe able to do it by hand if you can reach it . It’s the plastic piece that I show you in the video
