    I could not disagree more, build your P car the way you like it, the next guy is buying a used car.

      At the end of the day, it is your money so you can absolutely build it however you would like. We are just providing some expertise and advice if you are looking to maximize the value of your car and minimize time on market.

      Totally agree with 2750……
      I don’t order dinner based on what the guy at the next tables hungry for…..and spec’ing out a car with selling it as the guide just doesn’t make sense.
      We all agree it’s your money, so if you’re going to spend it, I really don’t think I’m going to have my neighbor dictate the build.

      A nice idea, how not to spec your car for best resale but it borders a bit on opinion which is interesting but not relevant it you have the luxury of spec’ing your car

      Since I waited almost two year for my allocation I had months to carefully consider every available option. What I can tell you is that I ordered my 911 (Carrera S) EXACTLY the way I wanted it without a concern in the world for resale. And let me be clear, every 911 is special and as ridiculous as it sounds to say it, anyone who A can afford one and B can get an allocation is very lucky. My advice would be much less specific as that given here. I’d say simply to pay attention to how YOU want to use the car and be sensible. I did not spec front axle lift and I’ve never scraped the underside of the nose.

      Spec what you want not what makes a car dealer more money on their resale later.

    Great advice, with the exception of the Front Axle Lift. That is very geographically dependent. In my city it would be a waste (cost, weight, and unnecessary added complexity).

      My dealer said less than 10% of buyers in our area go for front axle lift. It could be major costs outside of warranty to repair. Probably only a must have option for GT cars.

      Front axle lift is not even a top ten priority and I am a seven year Porsche salesperson. He lost me as soon as he started with the Front axle lift and then ended saying Burmester stereo is a must have. Absolutely not!

    I think even a base 911 falls under the luxury high-end car definition. My new 2024 is spec'd out with full leather, 18 way seats, front axle lift and a whole lot of other options, $31,000 total in options. Someday when I sell it it will be the most sought after base 911 on the market.

    Is an Agate Gray exterior with Mohave beige interior a NoNo?

      We would recommend a darker brown color for the interior. We have seen the lighter brown interiors take longer to sell.

      Took delivery on my Agate Grey / Beige interior 911 2 months ago.
      Not only is it gorgeous, ( especially with the optional yellow seat belts and tach ) but it certainly gets a lot of approvals.
      I’m an old geezer, so I didn’t spec the car for anyone except me.
      When the day comes, after years of driving, I don’t particularly care if it take 10 minutes or 10 months to sell…….that’s not why I bought it !

    992 GTS on order. What do you think of aerokit vs traditional? Also guards red vs yellow color?

    Wow, I am a Porsche salesperson for 7 years and I could not disagree more. Front axel lift is not a deal breaker. Also, any and all fluff options such as stitching is a complete waste of money. You are advocating for people to get Burmester sound system? Wow. You will spend 6k on the option and add 2k in resale value. A loss of 66% in your option investment.
    The number one option to increase your resale value is a manual transmission and you didn't even mention it.

      Thank you for sharing your opinion. We think context is important here. On daily driver cars such a Cayenne's and Macans you may be right. On GT and collector cars options are very important and substantially impact not only the resale price of the car but the time in which the car takes to sell.     Some pretty good advice. A lot of it seems self-evident but, when you are speaking a car it is easy to get distracted amongst all the options and forget some fundamentals. It has occurred to me that deviated stitching or deviated leather is highly personal and therefore may diminish the car's appeal to "the next guy". I think keeping the interior tasteful but simple is very important.
    Front axle lift is a very good point.... It means nothing to me but it is not a very expensive option and could really pay off (at least in easy of transaction) come trade-in time

    You are telling me you’d rather have color matched stitching to match rather than the eye catching items like the seatbelts or gauges. Just shows how out of touch this guy is with the Porsche market.
