- After a near fatal road accident in1990, which left her with a broken back, Gloria Estefan had recuperated and returned to the world stage less than 10 months later with the spectacular "INTO THE LIGHT" world tour. This is the opening of the tour which sold out 120 shows around the globe and played to over 10 million fans worldwide.

During those years Gloria Estefan was just great! Nowadays the music is OK, but it's a pity that she doesn't tour anymore. :( One of my favorite singers ever!

@ chorel-According to WikiPedia, Gloria toured back in 2008 & 2009 with her 90 Millas tour. In 2012, Gloria became a grandmother. Her son, Nayib, got married in 2010. She is enjoying being a grandmother. Gloria will likely tour again. Though she'll be 57 in September, I think she has one or two more two tours in her. Rest assured, Gloria will be sure she is ready to tour when she decides to tour again.

Did the "Into The Light" tour start in Miami? I heard it did after Gloria's past tours ended in Miami.

Actually The start location for the INTO THE LIGHT WORLD TOUR was Miami, Florida on
March 1st, 1991 - and the end location was also Miami, Florida on March 28th, 1992 (a full year later)
That was quite a historic concert tour for Gloria Estefan, almost anybody can tell you that it was historic due to the fact that it was her her FIRST full World Tour after her accident in in March of 1989.
I’m hesitant to use the word historic, but what I mean by that is, the “Into The Light” World Tour was historic for her career...You most likely probably already know this information but I’m huge Gloria Estefan fan, but back then she was an extremely popular artist! and just holding a ticket this #1 hit topping huge concert tour was like gold!!
Now when I say popular, I mean She was just as famous such as other artists at the time like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and even Madonna! ...Without a doubt though, she was much more popular back than she is now. And although she is still a very much beloved artist and performer in the music and arts industry, she was definitely much more famous back then!
Oh’ how I would have loved to see Gloria Estefan in her hay-day, actually I wouldn’t mind seeing her in any stage of her career, but being able to see her back then, I think would’ve been a nice thing to see! ❤️
