  • The plot concerns the classic conflict of love and money. The miser Harpagon wishes his daughter Elise to marry a wealthy old man, Anselme, who will accept her without a dowry, but she loves the penniless Valère. Harpagon himself has set his eye on young, impoverished Mariane, whom his son Cléante also loves.
This production was at the Dixon Studio, Palace Theatre on Thursday 25th June 2014

Dear actors and actresses, thank you for this brilliant performance of the Miser. The Miser, the Tartuffe and the Misanthrope are my favorite plays of the classical repertoire because they depict the most universal vices of humanity, avarice and hypocrisy.

Wow! The audience are very close to the actors. The actors must get every expression/nuance right, and they have. Brilliant!

I was in this show in my high school theater troupe! I played Anselme and now we're taking this play to the state competition next month

break a leg at the state competition - I directed our version and also played Anselme a nice little role as I could sit until the last ten minutes reading a book and then just stroll on for the ending. lol

I don’t think it could have been acted any better.. and the sound quality.. and tempo of the performance.. perfect; excellent..
Incidentally I was watching Tartuffe.. ( another Moliere work) by another company.. and it was well done but the sound quality.. not as clear.. and it was acted a a ferocious pace..!
You’re production was just right.. would , love to see your version of Tartuffe.. ?
