Also should use an F-14. The movie clearly shows that it is bulletproof.
I'd love to see that big old bird attempting then canyon run. It would surely be a toss up between whether:
1. It gets shot down because it's mahoosive (OR
2. The wings get ripped off due to someone attempting a 143G turn 🤣🤣

The way to win is to launch a HARM from the top of the mountain so that last SAM is hit by the time you've bombed the target.
Or better yet, "You're required to maneuver, straight down this trench..."
After today mission I have learned 3 things:
1.-Cap willing to use anyone from the squadron as shield
2.NEVER let Cap drive after having drinks with the GR squadron
3.Missing the key component of the mission, "Grump chewing chips"
I bet Simba could have done it if he were there as long as Grump was eating chips.. lol

The theme of this mission seems familiar somehow. When will Darth Vader swoop in flying his Flanker to defend the bunker?
Some of this canyon run was filmed near my work in Washington state. I got to watch them flying through it. Very cool, and loud.
It was mentioned at the end that a successful outcome would be two pilots surviving ejection after bombing the target, so Maverick and Rooster can go steal the F-14.
Truly is strength in numbers in this game.
AI is having difficulties prioritizing a target initially.
@grimreapers - Awesome stuff Grim Reapers Team! Too bad I did not see Grump on this one. The ONLY thing it was missing was a "GRUMP CAM" moment of him conducting extreme maneuvering and at the same time attempting to eat chips. 😆
@Cap - you can't say, "Don't worry about surviving this!" - Maverick said everyone has to survive and return home. 😀

Seriously, my new favourite phrase is "stupid bomby-knocker". Will find many places to use it as possible...
When a pair of fighters' jets climb and then go inverted over the mountains, let the first fighter jet target the underground bunker, and then let other the second fighter jet target and send multiple missiles toward the opponent's missile battery at the top of the mountain in front of them. The multiple missiles fired might be enough to confuse the missile batteries radar allowing both fighter jets to escape safely.
Operation: Vomit Bomb-it. Gonna want a scopolamine patch for this one.

Planes can fly with one wing in DCS, because of advanced modelling techniques.
Lol you guys would have been better off flying X-Wings. If Luke can hit the target, I'm sure you guys can. Luke did use the force in the end! Pity you didn't have the Millennium Falcon watching overhead! I must really say you guys did some great flying there!

Also for the tor, i am a warthunder player but radar missiles should all act the same, they need lead, if u get low and the dip at the last second 1 miles at the least should get the missile to dive for the ground while u pull right or left out of the dive, very hard still maneuver needs to start at 500 feet about the ground and u need to pull up at about 50 to 100 ft, i know warthunder and dcs are different physics but the methodologies are similar enough for it too work

I’m a retired helicopter pilot. Those are the altitudes i lived at although at slower speeds. For me it was important to always have a slight turn or slight climb or decent when dealing with unguided direct munitions. For the other stuff…. Low, low, low

Jousting that last SAM at the end might be possible to survive if you can intercept his missile with your own sidewinder. Of course, that means carrying more weight on an already impossible mission, or one less bomb. Even then, you'd still need the devils luck, but it might be the only way to do it aside from using an allied plane as a meat shield.

You kept forgetting that there was a tomcat parked nearby. You could simply bomb the target, eject before being turned into free range meat shield and escape in the F-14. Just be on the lookout for SU-57's.

If you enter that in a search and look for New Atlas for the article, you'll see what I am on about. I think that CH may already be onto this one. This would make a most excellent addition to your arsenal.

I know that the Warthog would be a disaster. It's an easy target.
