It used deal up to like 210 at max afterburn duration.
It's important to note that recently airblast has been nerfed to have a smaller airblast hitbox and also very little knockback. I also made a glaring mistake with the Phlog in TC2, it actually charges with any damage source and not just fire damage. I don’t usually use the Phlog and for this video I mostly playing around with the flare guns, so it didn’t occur to me when writing the script. Really sorry about that. Additionally, the Detonator's explosion hitbox is way smaller, making it worse at AoE compared to TF2. TC2's visuals don't make that very clear...
Hey great video man! The flare gun part actually explains alot why most of my flare gun shots weren't hitting when using the flare gun, it's reliant on ping, which my ping isnt the greatest when recording.
I think using the fire extinguisher with the phlog is useful, while yes you can't consistently extinguish teammates, it still gives you a way to be supportive. Although I don't know why you wouldn't take the escapist's escapade. Just a thought.
As a pyro main, my main complaint is HOW HARD THEY NERFED AIRBLASTING ENEMY PLAYERS AWAY. In tf2, a demoknight couldn't even get near me without being airblasted like 10 feet away from me. In tc2, a demoknight can just casually charge up to me, and even if I do airblast him he's only knocked back 6 inches at BEST. It used to be an incredibly reliable way to counter demoknight and a semi-reliable way to deal with scout Now it's a waste of ammo to even try. And then they had the audacity to add an achievement which REQUIRES me to airblast enemies away, and that's not even the worst part! The achievement is as follows: Airblast a scout under the effects of bloxy cola (this game's version of bonk) into a death pit or similar instakill hazard. First of all, WHO USES BONK!? NEVER ONCE HAVE I SEEN SOMEONE USE IT IN THIS GAME second of all, the situation in which a bonk scout would be near a deathpit or anything similar is incredibly niche. third of all, he'd have to practically already be falling off because AS IF I'D BE ABLE TO KNOCK SOMEONE OFF A LEDGE WITH AN AIRBLAST AS PITIFUL AS THIS.
they sorta changed airblast after this video which is why its not here but yeah this is a huge issue. airblast in tf2 is scaled based on momentum but in tc2 its a set knockback, and its so low you can barely do shit with it
@@Vak0 thermal thruster would be awesome if it was added , most maps with water hzve the water as a killbox , the manmelter sucks ass and it would even more in tc2 with the fact that the flares are ping relevent , if the scorch shot was added it might actually make phlog viable but i doubt the devs would care enough about that
Actually, I think the tc2 phlog can charge with any damage, not just fire damage, unless Rolve changed it. I remember using the shotguns to charge the phlog.

As a homewrecker user i can say it come in handy way more frequently then people think with the ability of one shooting minisentry and protecting your own mechanics buildings when they get distracted on a fight or dead
In tc2 when I use the fire extinguisher with the phlog because airblast on the phlog does nothing but destroys enemies projectiles but combine with the fire extinguisher it allows me to do both destroy enemies projectiles with primary and extinguish teammates with melee
i normaly dont have a ping problem but the flaregun still dosent work ?? the flare goas trough the enemy or hitting this thing is so hard becuse the hitbox is just so small . the flaregun used to be the same as the detonator . but they changed it fore some reason .
TC2 Could use some new voicelines, new fire particles, airblast fog and some new engineer building models, the rebalanced weapons are AMAZING and feels better to use
Personally for me, Pyro/Arsonist in TC2 is quite fun cuz I play in the same server as my country and I have a decent PC so the flare gun is super fun to use for me. Also, I rarely use the Escapist's Escapade cuz I find it boring to use... I rather use the Mending Mallet to heal and it seems more fun to chain melee hits with pyro and get hp back to continue that dumb strat again until I die.
I'm honestly not a fan of the detonator changes (apart from the set damage value when jumping). The detonator in TF2 gives you burst mobility and a ranged damage dealer that rewards timing with group damage. The TC2 detonator still gives you burst mobility, but the explosion radius is too small to be useful at all. Apart from the blast jumping it's just a worse flare gun since it rewards combos with significantly less damage. It's a really weird stat change that kills one of the weapon's uses and instead opts for making it just a worse version of another weapon. The detonator in TC2 is still good I just don't like what was changed about it.

Arsonist got some giant changes in the recent Summer Update, this was probably such a pain to make, but nice getting it done.

The airblast fog was actually changed last summer (summer FM) tc2 could use remastered arsonist voicelines tho.

The only difference between TC2’s and TF2’s is a 9% difference in afterburn damage, it’s not a big enough change to warrant a section in this video.
