Los filipinos que vienen a vivir a España al poco tiempo empiezan a hablar un español con un acento perfecto, es impresionante. Creo que la semejanza desconocida entre el español y el tagalo hace que los filipinos aprendan español muy rápido y con un acento estupendo.
I enjoyed this one. Most words are not Tagalog in nature but borrowed words from Spanish but with different spelling. I guess we Filipinos tend to make words easier to pronounce that's why there are a bit difference in spelling from Spanish words.
I agree with you.. we are watching NARCOS and it's in Spanish and I am so happy to heard a lot of SPANISH language with exact same meaning in Tagalog. Keep it up guys. Godbless
I am from Zamboanga City. We speak Chavacano here. Very close to spanish. When I watch El Chapo, Money Heist, Narcos, or other Spanish series, I pretty much understand what they say. Our history contributes a lot from this similarities between our dialect and their language. Ariba!
Alcalde is an Arabic al-qaḍi word in origin(قاضي), meaning judge. It was borrowed by the Spanish. Just like the word Alcohol. It was later applied as Mayor or Alcalde Mayor.
Filipinos are our brothers since a very long time ago, in some time of history we used to be the same country of Nueva España and our strongest communication line was Acapulco - Manila 💜

1) The Friars kept the Spanish to make the people ignorant. Ignorant people = easy to manipulate 2) They don't want the Filipinos to tell Spain that they have been treated badly 3) They removed Español as one of the national languages (they replaced it with English). The Spanish Empire got what it did.
iateaplumandifeelweird Actually, the well-off Filipinos (not only insulares but mestizos) spoke Spanish. The problem is the poor didn't have required schooling unlike during the American period, so most didn't learn. Of course, the Americans would teach us English not Spanish. Likewise, in some provinces before TV and radio became common, most uneducated Filipinos could not speak Tagalog. FYI, Spanish is still an official language of the Philippines.

The word Mani is an Arawak word of the Taino aborigines of the Caribbean region. The Spaniards used it for the word peanut and the Aztec's word is cacahuate which is only used in Mexico, but the Spaniard used mani in the Philippines. There are a lot of words in the Philippines that use Spanish words, just spelled differently.

When I moved here in the US in 2000, I was assigned to create a program that will translate Numbers to Spanish words... will be used specifically for the Mexican audience or users of the application. First, they thought I know spanish because my full name sounds Hispanic... luckily, I know how to speak the numbers in spanish because when I was a child growing up in Manila, I used to hear those words. It was up to me how to inform myself of how they should be pronounced because Filipinos were never really were thought the proper spanish unless you belong to the older generations when spanish is part of the college curriculum and not an elective. I belong to the youth who missed the opportunity to learn it the proper way. But anyways, I was able to deliver that program and it was my proudest moment that I was able to create a product that is outside the Philippines and was used in the US and Mexico.
Most Mexicans are native descendants (i.e., native Mexicans, native Americans, native South Americans, etc.) These "natives" descended from Asians which migrated to the northern and southern American continents eons ago in search of food and new lands. Therefore, you will notice a lot of physical similarities due to shared Asian genetics.
Central Mexicans are of partial Austronesian descent which means Philipinos, Hawians, Peruvians,Navajo and Central Mexicans are of the same/similar genetic makeup.

there are hundreds of Spanish words in Visayan too such as mercado, alegre, eskina is widely used in visayan provinces, karsones (pants), dulce, etc..
Try to make a full sentence in Spanish, no Tagalog, No English, must be grammatically correct with correct spelling.

Chavacano is closer to Spanish than Tagalog although Tagalog have also adopted some of Spanish words.
Well said. I have a lot of friends came from Zamboanga. They're native who uses chavacano. They were taught Spanish in a short period of time because they just have to learn the correct construction of grammar, conjugation, and some Spanish words. Not only that, parang 75% sa call center department ng company namin chavacano.
It's closer to Mexican Spanish. Theres a lot of Nahautl influenced words than you think.

Los filipinos que vienen a vivir a España al poco tiempo empiezan a hablar un español con un acento perfecto, es impresionante. Creo que la semejanza desconocida entre el español y el tagalo hace que los filipinos aprendan español muy rápido y con un acento estupendo.
No doubt! FOR 300 YEARS...💓👍 And We love Listening I f older people can still speak spanish language..already part of our Filipino culture..

I am from Zamboanga City. We speak Chavacano here. Very close to spanish. When I watch El Chapo, Money Heist, Narcos, or other Spanish series, I pretty much understand what they say. Our history contributes a lot from this similarities between our dialect and their language. Ariba!

You should have checked it better, there were two and then two words translated, each separated by comma.
At least you guys were able to keep your language after being colonized :’(
1) The Friars kept the Spanish to make the people ignorant. Ignorant people = easy to manipulate
2) They don't want the Filipinos to tell Spain that they have been treated badly
3) They removed Español as one of the national languages (they replaced it with English).
@@krdiaz8026 Spanish as the official languahe? No, It's Filipino. That language was removed centuries ago.

We have a lot of words the same as Spanish but Filipinos pronounced them differently that makes it sound different to people who speaks authentic Spanish. Try to converse with them in Spanish and you’ll be lost, knowing some words is one and knowing to make conversation is another.

Many South American countries use the word "maní" instead of "cacahuate".

Indigenous American blood
México al igual que Perú, Ecuador y Bolivia, tienen mucha descendencia indigena(Native American) +50% población.
@@robroux6074 There isn't any substantial evidence to back up that claim; by all accounts Central Mexicans have absolutely no Austronesian blood.
