This is like the best sequel to the original video with Fredrick. Because it's still Morgan but now he's playing it after so many years and he can do all the bits with more finesse
Totally disagree. This is way more loose and has a “just-for-fun” vibe. The performance from Trum is so much more intricate and dynamic, it’s not even close. And idk why Morgan playing after all these years would help, if anything it made it harder for him. It’s not like he’s been rehearsing and touring on this material since 2001. I think they played some of the album live once on the Melloboat.
Lmao I love this if you pay close attention it almost makes you wonder if they're really playing or just joking around, this medley is so cool because it sounds like an intro to a sick song that never starts and that is so brutal.
@@Egoblivion Thomas hale stated that he just got sick of touring, physically. and possibly having vertigo every night they played. So it was more of health reasons than personal

@@macrillzenith1399 What an odd reply. I am well aware of who plays on the album. I've even met these guys, attended drum clinics and been to the studio with Meshuggah. Haake has a certain sound, a way of playing the drums which "works" with this genre of music; that Thordendal normally works together with Haake for. Thus, Agren is using similar mannerisms as Haake when he is playing. Calling people fools when you're not understanding the point is unnecessary.
I hear what you are saying. The drums on Sol Niger Within is no imitation of Haake - I see it's similarities - it's Morgan Ågren and his insane take on the same music.
Need that second album rn.
Yeah Fredrik has some major making-up to do after letting Per Nilson (superb guitarist) play his shit on the last tour.

Morgan is simply incredible. Playing this heavy piece with subdued dynamics for this particular venue yet it still sounds punchy and powerful.
And Brutal without having to Hurt anyone haha!

So great. It's like he's toying with it
*Gustaf Hielm* is definitely a rare gem of a musician.
Morgan Ågren got his own style playing drums.Amazing!
Always amazing - and what a truly happy personality that shines through it.

So effortless
Cool to watch after having only the old video to watch. Much love to these guys 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Incredible performance, two amazing musicians playing one amazing piece of music.

with more finesse? he had all that back then in spades already, as is obvious from listening to it

Fantastic drummer. Morgan could play "the Black Page" eyes closed.
There's a clip where Mats and Morgan play The Black Page at the same time, with Mats playing the drum part on a keyboard, it's incredible

how the hell did you play this softly and still sound good? That's fantastic!
I like that it's played slower. You can see the intricacies and appreciate them more. Also easier for me to learn LOL
These guys are the creme de la creme.

Love the groove....
Awesome .
What absolute units
Very nice groove 👍👍👍
Awesome!
🖤 🌹 yessss!
shame the bass is so quiet in the mix :/
maybe because of your speakers? I can hear the bass just fine.

I think the bass player used to be in Meshuggah . he looks familiar.
Gustav played with Meshuggah from 1995 - 2001. So you are absolutely right sir.

Why that room-full of 8 people weren't on their feet and cheering loudly - I will never know...

The drummer sounds very jazz-inspired in some parts of this.
So this was your first time hearing Mr. Agren?
*Some* parts?
Hmm, you think so? What was your first clue?

You fool. Agren performs this on the album. He wrote these parts himself. Haake is a separate entity completely. You fool
